About this property
Blue Ridge Riverfront Cabin•2-Level Deck•Sleeps 8
Wake up to the hush of North Georgia’s most celebrated trout river and end the day roasting marshmallows under a sky glittering with stars. Blue Ridge Riverfront Cabin — affectionately nicknamed The Big Chair River House — places you right on the clear Toccoa River in the heart of the Aska Adventure Area. Whether you’re a family of paddlers, anglers, and hikers or a group of friends craving lazy mornings on a porch swing, our cabin wraps you in nature without sacrificing comfort.
The Space Step inside and feel the everyday stress melt away. The river greets you through oversized windows the moment you cross the threshold, and the interior has been completely renovated to balance mountain-cabin charm with modern convenience. With approximately 1,300 square feet of indoor living space and another 1,300 square feet spread across two river-facing decks, everyone in your party of up to eight guests has plenty of room to spread out, play games, or steal quiet moments with a cup of coffee. The main level is devoted to gathering: sink-in sectional sofa, stone fireplace with wood-burning insert and blower, smart TV for streaming your favorite apps, and a dining nook that invites lingering conversations after dinner. Large sliding doors pull the outdoors in, so even on rainy days you’ll hear the soothing rush of the Toccoa just beyond the rail.
Outdoor Living Our twin decks are the star of the show. The upper deck, shaded by mature hardwoods, is outfitted with deep-seat loungers, a generous dining table, and a swing bed that tempts even the most indoorsy guest to try a night under the stars. The lower deck sits closer to the water, perfect for morning yoga, sunset cocktails, or spying the resident kingfishers and white-tailed deer that pass through at dawn. A third platform is positioned right on the riverbank, giving anglers a private casting perch and transforming tube launches into the easiest part of your day. After the sun dips, circle around the large stone fire pit, toast s’mores, and watch May–June fireflies put on an unforgettable light show.
Amenities • Fast Wi-Fi strong enough for remote work • Dedicated workspace if you absolutely must open the laptop • Smart TV (log in to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc.) • Wood-burning fireplace insert (bring your own seasoned firewood) • Central heating and plentiful hot water • Full-size washer and dryer • Gas BBQ grill on the main deck • Board games for rainy-day tournaments • Bed linens, quilts, and two sets of towels per guest • Starter supply of paper products, trash bags, dishwasher pods, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and basic spices • Bear-proof outdoor trash enclosure • Driveway parking for several vehicles • Exterior security cameras covering driveway, side steps, and fire-pit area only (no interior cameras) • No-pet policy keeps the home allergy-friendly
Bedrooms & Bathrooms All three bedrooms are upstairs, so early risers can sip coffee downstairs without waking sleepers. 1. King Master Suite: plush king mattress, river vistas, direct access to a side balcony, and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. 2. Queen Bedroom: cozy and quiet with a window that frames leafy views; steps from the shared full bathroom on this level. 3. Kids & Teens Bunk Room: a custom queen-over-queen bunk plus a single-over-trundle gives youngsters their own hangout and easy access to the covered front porch for morning cartoons in the fresh air. Bathrooms: Two full baths—one upstairs with a shower and one on the main level with a tub/shower combination—are stocked with starter toiletries and hair-dryers. (Please note that, contrary to outdated references you might see elsewhere, there is not a half bath; our listing is perfectly aligned with Airbnb’s verified data.)
Kitchen & Dining The fully equipped kitchen lets you channel your inner chef with stainless-steel appliances, dishwasher, microwave, drip coffee maker, wine glasses, sharp knives, pots, pans, mixing bowls, and place settings for eight. Prep breakfast while kids recount the previous night’s campfire stories at the breakfast nook, then carry plates outside to the 10-seat live-edge picnic table on the deck. Nothing tastes quite as good as pancakes with a river soundtrack.
Neighborhood You’re tucked away enough to hear nothing but water and wildlife, yet only 15 minutes (9 miles) from the boutiques, farm-to-table restaurants, and craft breweries of downtown Blue Ridge. The paved Aska Road brings you here, so no nail-biting mountain drives are required. Pull into the gravel driveway, unload the groceries, and forget the car—most days you’ll be content to fish, float, or read by the river.
Nearby Attractions • Aska Trail System & Benton MacKaye Trail – world-class hiking and mountain biking within minutes • Lilly Pad Village – gem mining, mini-golf, and trout ponds a short walk or quick drive away, perfect for younger children • Toccoa Riverside Restaurant – riverside dining 5 minutes from the cabin (reservations recommended) • Blue Ridge Scenic Railway – a crowd-pleasing excursion departing from downtown • Vineyards & Breweries – sip local vintages at Bear Claw Vineyards or indulge in craft beer at Grumpy Old Men Brewing, both about 20 minutes by car • Waterfalls – Long Creek Falls, Fall Branch Falls, and several hidden gems await hikers of all skill levels • Blue Ridge Lake – rent a pontoon or paddleboard and explore 65 miles of shoreline
Why You’ll Love It 1. True riverfront: no long walks, no shared access—just steps from the deck to the Toccoa. 2. Designed for families and friends: six real beds across three bedrooms comfortably host up to eight guests (maximum four adults per our county permit). 3. Outdoor living perfected: from sunrise yoga to midnight stargazing, the decks expand your living space into the treetops. 4. Adventure hub: fishing capital of Georgia, epic trails, and charming downtown all at your fingertips. 5. Guest Favorite status: our 5-star reviews consistently commend cleanliness, thoughtful touches, and those unbeatable river views.
Good to Know • Bring river shoes, fishing rods, tubes, and life jackets—there’s no better playground than your backyard, but swimming is always at your own risk. River conditions vary with rainfall and dam releases. • Firewood is not provided. Local convenience stores and roadside vendors sell inexpensive bundles. • Trash must be bagged and secured in the bear-proof bin to keep curious critters away. • Cell service can be spotty in the mountains; Wi-Fi calling is the most reliable method once you arrive. • Check-in is contactless. You’ll receive a unique door code 48 hours before arrival. • Maximum occupancy is strictly enforced at eight guests and no pets. Violation will result in immediate cancellation without refund per county regulations.
Ready to trade traffic noise for river songs and office lighting for forest glow? Reserve your dates at Blue Ridge Riverfront Cabin today and start counting down to sunrise coffee on the swing bed, epic trout tales, and memories your family will replay for years to come.

Loved our mini stay at this cabin. Very clean, great view, stocked with many usable things that we needed. The host was so helpful. This is a very peaceful cabin, we relaxed the entire stay. Fishing was good, very few steps to water. There is steps to all bedrooms, but well worth the stay. I highly recommend this home.

Thanks, Lisa! We are so glad you guys enjoyed your stay at our house and the fishing was successful! Come stay again soon!
Could not recommend this house enough! Perfect for a get away and one of the most comfortable places we have ever stayed. Hosts were very responsive and easy to work with. Location is an easy drive to Blue Ridge, Ellijay, and Mccaysville. Unlike some places in the area, do not need four wheel drive to get to the house. Perfect for a couple or a family. 10/10 would happily stay again.
Loved the house and location right on the river. My boys loved being able to just walk out the front door and fish plus there was plenty of space for them to run around and play outside and the house was fully stocked with everything we could need for our stay!
We had a wonderful time. Host was very accommodating & responded to emails quickly and efficiently. Perfect getaway for our family, We will definitely be back!
This is a fabulous place, right on the river. My son and two son in laws had a great time and stay here. The owner provided us with information about shopping, dining and activities for our stay and was always very prompt to respond to any and all questions. Would recommend this place to anyone.Lee
Easy access right on the Toccoa! Not much better than hearing the rushing river 24/7. Nice house with comfy beds. Loved every minute!

Hi Keysha,
We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay! We agree that the location is wonderful and we are so glad you enjoyed our comfortable home. Come back anytime! Thank you for your review, Michelle
Everything about the home and the location was just perfect! The home had more than enough room for our family of 4 - and had everything that we needed! It had a very well stocked kitchen and lots of comfortable furniture inside and outside. It really is a perfect location on the Tocoa River - and not too far from Blue Ridge. Lots of great hiking nearby too! Definitely recommend.
Hi Doug, thanks for your good review. Glad you had a good trip. I just wanted to let you know that you left the back door open, not sure if the latch caught but I just wanted to let you know. Also, just an FYI, make sure to review the checkout rules the next time you leave a Vrbo, most houses have a policy of emptying the trash before you leave, we do, and you had left the trash inside the house. Thanks, Michelle.
My family ! I had a lovely stay at the river house for thanksgiving this year. We found the accommodations to be as described & were pleased at how well-stocked the kitchen was with cookware! In case it matters, the river is actually across the street from the house but the shown river deck is just a few steps away. We would definitely stay here again!

This is the perfect place to stay as a family, as a romantic getaway, guys fishing weekend, or moms' weekend away! Close to the charm of downtown Blue Ridge, steps to the refreshing Toccoa, and convenient to Helen and other quaint spots, you need look no further. The well stocked kitchen, cozy beds, amazing porches (yes, plural!) and available games make it feel like you are home. Come experience the river life at Big Chair, and let the sound of the water wash away all your cares while you are there!

Thank you so much for your review, we are so glad you had a great stay with us!
I have been traveling to Blue Ridge for over 30 years and have rented many properties there. I go 4-6 times a year to Fly Fish for Trout and relax. This property and location is rated in my top 3 in the area. Super clean, comfortable, amenities galore and the headwaters of the Tocca River 30 yards out the front door. We fished at the location and the river is very wadeable and fishable. Great place for families with children also. The host's were more than accommodating and made us feel at home. You can't go wrong with this rental.
The Big Chair River House was a wonderful place to stay. It’s was clean, well maintained, and the owners thought through so many little details that made the stay enjoyable. With two young kiddos, the large yard, bunk beds, and games were so much fun. The porches and river dock were very relaxing. We enjoyed the fire pit every night and the drive into town was easy. There were a few things to do/ places to eat just down the road as well. The river was high from rain, so we didn’t play much in the water, but it was still a beautiful setting. We highly recommend and hope to return soon.

Kristen, Thank you for your great review, we are so glad that you had a great trip with your family at our house! Michelle
Wonderful property on a beautiful river. Spent 12 days escaping south FLA summer. We had a wonderful time standing in the shade with our feet in the Toccoa. River was low and clear with exception of the last day. Played most of the local golf courses, hiked the local trails, waded the river and sat around the fire pit in the evenings. Two sets of grand kids visited on two separate weekends and loved it.
Our stay at Big Chair River House was amazing. From the flowing river to the family game nights to the relaxing porch swing, this has been one of my favorite family vacations. Our family reunion was this past weekend in Blue Ridge and we were able to float from my parents cabin a mile away straight to the dock here at the river house. We only experienced one issue which the host took care of right away. The kitchen was fully stocked for our cooking needs (we only needed to buy food). The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet and secure. We will be back!

My husband, Tim, and I purchased our Riverhouse 7 years ago and it has been a labor of love! Tim did not of the work gutting and updating the entire house. We recently decided to rent out our beautiful, peaceful home. We hope you enjoy our little piece of heaven on the Toccoa!
Why they chose this property
We wanted a vacation home ON the river, we didn't want to have to travel to get to the water. Riverside Drive is the perfect location! Right on the beautiful Toccoa River and close to Blue Ridge GA. So much to do. Outdoor adventures all over the area. You will not run out of things to do or just hang out and enjoy nature at the home.
What makes this property unique
We have a fully updated home Right on the river. We have a huge lot for kids to play and we think we have the prettiest view with the best natural sound machine, you can hear the river when you step outside.
