The views are BEAUTIFUL!
Highly recommend. This property is sitting so that everywhere you look it is just amazing views. The driveway is steep and, I've found, that everything in that area of CO is either rock or dirt. If there is rain or snow don't even try it without 4wd. We had a great time, the hosts were great, responsive, and not intrusive. The house was clean and comfy. Wifi was incredible for how far out it is. I will say this to anyone looking to visit this part of CO. (This was our first trip out West, some people already know these things, but we did not). You are out there. It is a small (SMALL) town and everything you do will be at minimum 45 min to 2 hr drive. Get your gas & supplies (food, drinks, etc) before you get too far from Denver or CO Springs, just do yourself that favor. :) When you are used to having things open most of the days and evenings, it is a culture shock. The streets are rolled up by 7pm for most places. Small markets in Fairplay are decent, we ate at the house every night, there is just nothing close. Most people head to Breckenridge, although we weren't too impressed, rather stay on that deck and cook on the grill, we did literally every night! The meat purchased in this area is delicious. Go to the Southpark Museum. It is amazing. Georgetown Loop Railroad is fun, but the drive there is the best scenic route I've ever taken. Enjoy the beauty that is Colorado.

Great place
The home was perfect for our family of 6. It was clean, stocked well, and had plenty of space. Location was great for any activities. Views are unbeatable, but you do get traffic noise from the highway if that is an issue. I will definitely be considering this home again next year!!!

What makes this property unique

Just 35 minutes away from Breckenridge's world famous skiing and adventure, Fairplay is known as the official Trout Fishing Capital of Colorado. Anglers, be sure to bring your fishing gear, as you’ll want to throw a line in more than 50 miles of Gold Medal trout streams. By definition, these streams offer the highest quality trout habitat and greatest potential for angling success in Colorado. Hikers, mountain bikers, hunters, OHVers and more find plenty of quiet places to keep them busy as well.

Fairplay and the surrounding 1,000 square miles are part of the South Park National Heritage Area. Designated by Congress, each of 49 National Heritage Areas in the U.S. tells a nationally important story through their distinctive landscapes, historic structures and recreational resources. South Park's 19th-century ranches, many old mines and other historic sites are the primary reason the area was given this designation in 2009. Learn more about Colorado's National Heritage Areas >>

In Fairplay itself, be sure to visit the South Park City Museum, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has a main street flanked by 40 or so historic buildings brought here from the surrounding area including a trapper's cabin, a saloon, general store, blacksmith shop and other businesses that thrived in the late 1800s. This amazing collection is only open during the summer months and is run entirely by volunteers. What’s more, art galleries and open-air art venues abound in and around the town proper.
