About this property
Secluded Lake Tenkiller Cabin | 2 Acres | Sleeps16
The Space
Anchor Away is where lake weekends feel easy again.
Tucked away on 2 private wooded acres near Lake Tenkiller, this fully remodeled 5-bedroom bungalow was designed for big family gatherings, boat days, and late-night laughter around the table.
Inside you’ll find: • Open-concept kitchen with newer appliances • Comfortable sleeping for up to 16 guests • Open common areas for games and meals • Peaceful, tree-filled views from every window
Less than 1 mile to Carlisle Cove public boat ramp — launch in minutes and be on the water fast.
⸻
Outdoor Space
This is a true lake cabin — surrounded by nature, trees, and fresh Oklahoma air.
Large driveway (50’ wide, 150’ long) accommodates boats and trailers. It’s tight the first time backing in, but we’ve had everything from pontoons to wake boats fit comfortably.
Because we’re on wooded acreage, you may see normal Oklahoma wildlife and insects outdoors during warmer months — we maintain regular pest control service and keep the home professionally cleaned and sealed.
⸻
Location
• 1 mile to Carlisle Cove • Near Cookson Bend & Six Shooter • 45 min to Illinois River float trips • Just over an hour from Tulsa
Lake Tenkiller is known for being less crowded than other Oklahoma lakes — but still offers restaurants, marinas, and fun summer energy.

This is a great property and host at Tenkiller Lake!!! We had a group of 12 (mostly kids) and the property was wonderful for them!!! The host is fantastic with EXCELLENT communication and answered all.our questions and made sure the property was sufficient. There is a huge yard, outdoor firepit, and indoor ping pong table. We would definitely stay here again!!! Excellent host!!!!
Stayed here with family for my daughter’s graduation from NSU. Everything was great! Planning on reserving again during warmer weather for a family get away.
Our host was responsive and welcoming. Our stay was overall peaceful and quiet aside from a neighbor's dog the roams freely and barked outside our windows our first night. The pingpong table was a blast!

Thank you so much for the kind review and booking our little cabin in the woods. And I am so sorry about the wondering neighborhood dog. We had no idea, we will try to find the owner and ask if a he can stay off property in the future. Thank you again!
This was our 2nd time to stay at Anchor Away. The boat ramp is super close and there is plenty of room to spread out. Also, having 2 refrigerators is super helpful with a crowd!

Thank you so much for booking. Your group is always welcome!
Property was great! It was clean! Only complaint is the bugs. It’s Oklahoma in the summer I get it. They were on steroids even keeping g the lights off lol

I’m so sorry to hear that. We do have the home treated by professional Exterminator monthly. But I understand it can be frustrating. I’ve talked to my cleaner, the only other thing we can think of is to leave out bug foggers for guests to use and enjoy their vacation. Thanks for the feedback, I hope we can do better next time. Five star reviews are so important to a small business owners, and we will strive to do better.
Affordable and large location very near the water!
The house was large enough for my family of 14 and affordable. It had what we needed and the home owner was very available. She delt with issues that came up extremely well!
The house was perfect for our group of 6 guys. We were there fishing a kayak fishing tournament. There was plenty of parking and the house had everything we needed. The ping-pong table was a huge bonus. The hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond to any inquiries.
We had three families of four for the weekend and we were all comfortable with our own space. We enjoyed having two refrigerators! There was ample parking for our vehicles and boat trailer. Cookson Bend Marina is only about a 10 minute drive away. Would stay here again!!
We needed a place to meet up and spend the day with our grown children and grandchildren
who were coming in from others states and towns. This house worked great for us! The older kids loved the game room and the large front yard, the 3 babies and 3 toddlers had
plenty of bedrooms for power naps. A very nice kitchen and the 2 refrigerators were appreciated!
Good property for our guys fishing/golf trip. Only drawback was the 2nd shower (not in the master bedroom). It was small and with the water coming from overhead it made it a little difficult to use.
Great beds, very clean place. Property feels private. Only downside is the dozens of little flies that come inside when you open the front door if you have ANY Lights on inside at all. Even in late November, this was a very real problem, with no apparent solution except to just stay inside. If the fire pit is not your thing, just stay inside, I guess.
We enjoyed our time at the cabin . We had family from 4 different states meet up there and there was plenty of room for us all. The only complaint we had, was the amount of rules we had to follow. We were really enjoying each other’s company in the front around the fire but we had to shut it down early to comply with the rules. Also, the walk way into the home is Kind of dangerous hauling luggage and needed supplies while you are staying.

Thank you for the five star review. I’m sorry you felt the rule were too restrictive. I’m guessing your referring to the quiet hours starting at 11pm, which by no means requires guest to move inside, just a courtesy to lower noise for surrounding neighbors. ie no excessive loud noise that would disturb neighbors in the middle of the night. Since the home is on several acres, I’m sure you could even keep music on at a normal volume. Long story short, I’m so sorry for this misunderstanding of expectations.
About the host
Your host
We bought this home as our Family of 4 getaway dream. As Tulsans we really were drawn to this home due to the wooded acreage with no neighbors in sight. Home was completely gutted and remodeled in Spring 2021. Our little girls love exploring the land and we enjoy the ease/calmness of Lake Tenkiller. Unlike other lakes in the area, it is not overcrowded, but still offers tons of Restaurants and Amenities. We named it Anchor Away, because all of four of us have 'A' names, and love anything 'A' related. We hope you book our place and you have an 'A+' stay!!!
