Here we have a comfortable lakefront cottage just outside of Munising on the shore of Lost Lake. It’s a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, and sleeps up to 6 people. The location is awesome! It’s in the Hiawatha National Forest less than 15 minutes from town and there’s countless lakes, snowmobile and ATV trails, and recreational activities nearby. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island National Rec Area are both in the general area. The cottage has two levels with 2 bedrooms and a full bath upstairs accessed via a circular stairway and the main level has a bedroom, 3/4 bath, and a futon couch in the living room. There’s a full kitchen and amazing views ‘over’ the lake. Don’t miss out on your dates and book your stay today!

The most amazing thing about this property was being right on the water. Being able to fish off the dock and to have your own beach. It was close to everything we wanted to do in the area. The beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed in the kitchen. The owner was very responsive.

Beautiful setting, kids loved being on the lake.
We stayed there for a week if we had any type of problems the owner was very prompt on getting it resolved in a timely manner.I recommend this property to anyone looking to travel with kids.
Pretty much as described. Beautiful peaceful, remote lake. House was clean, and well stocked with toilet paper, garbage bags, and dishes which was nice. Would have loved enough sheets and more towels as we were there for a full week with no washer/dryer, but we made do.
We had a wonderful time at the Lost Lake Cottage. The house is actually stilted over the shore. My son was able to fish right off the back of the house! The sunsets were amazing and the lake was quiet. We look forward to coming again soon.
We rented snowmobiles in Wetmore and this was the perfect location to stay - only about 5-6 miles from the rental place so it was close enough to drive them to and from the cabin, but we were far enough from town to feel wonderfully secluded. We saw a ton of traffic coming into the hotels and much preferred staying here. Very quiet with easy access to snowmobile trails and even did a little ice fishing. The layout of this cabin made for a nice split with the adults downstairs and kids upstairs. The full kitchen was a plus - we did one grocery trip upon arrival and cooked every meal of our 3-night stay here. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better host for our trip, highly recommend!
Cell service for Sprint/T-Mobile was non-existent off the main road but the owner had given us a heads up and I was able to take screenshots and save some trail maps. Address did not come up on Apple Maps, but owner gave us good directions. Once we got there, navigating getting back to town and the trails was very easy.
The cottage slept all of us very easily and the beds were good. Our boys enjoyed fishing the lake every day and got to know some of the neighbors. They were so friendly. Everything we wanted to do was within a good drive from the cottage. We even saw deera couple time on the way back from our day away. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog with and he absolutely loved all thactivites. We had a few days with plumbing issues but Tommy was quick to get someone out there and get them fixed. Hopefully, no one else has the same issues. One suggestion i would have is to provide some bigger coffee mugs and other glassware. And there are only enough dinnerware and silverware for 6 people for 1 meal. Plan on doing dishes after every meal if you have a full house.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your place. We truly enjoyed it!
The location was awesome We loved being right on the lake, and had plenty of things to do to keep us entertained. House was clean and had a neat cottage charm to it.
What an awesome place and can't wait to come back when there's No Snow! Beds were extremely comfortable and the view was amazing. Host was also incredibly helpful and answered all our questions.
Cottage had everything we needed. We had a lot of new snow that made the stay even better. Nearby great cross country ski trails and snowmobiling. A lot of communication from the property managers.

The place was okay. Had problems with the fan and light in living room. but additional lights were brought in for us. Glassware was sparse,
Weather was wonderful. Lost Lake is a beautiful place.
If you like the UP, nature and being on the lake, you will love this place. We enjoyed using the kayaks, row boat and paddle boat. Great location to explore the surrounding area. Noodles and blow up rafts are nice, a little weedy near shore. Clean and comfortable.
Not sure what would have made this stat perfect but this was as close as they get!!
The deck is built over the water for shallow diving. The lake isn’t too deep. Swimming, kayaking, fishing from the deck, great Webber grill, charcoal was left so we left ours. Well appointed kitchen, the beds were too comfortable and it was hard getting out of them but there were too many things to do. Ending the night with a beach fire was as good as anywhere!
We will be back. The lake is a bit cold in early June as it should be. That’s the only negative I could find.
The cabin was on a beautiful lake in a secluded area in the woods. This was the perfect vacation spot for my husband and me and our three dogs. We would definitely rent this property again!
We enjoyed staying here. It was a beautiful, quiet, peaceful spot. The house could use a few added niceties such as coat/towel hooks, newer towels, etc. The only major negative thing is the water has a strong odor. All in all we really enjoyed the swing, fire pit, living-room view, and overall experience here.
We’ve been in a lot of VRBOs but this one has a remarkable setting on the water with magnificent sunsets. Nothing super fancy but comfortable, relaxing and well appointed. Great kitchen essentials including pans, knives and an eclectic set of drink ware. Most everything you could want was available in this kitchen.
Weber charcoal grill came with some charcoal left behind from previous renter and a coal starter chimney. We paid the charcoal forward and left our charcoal.
Did catch fish off the dock sitting in the great porch swing.
Michigan fishing license is only 10 dollars a day resident or non- resident. It was a beautiful October day in the 80’s so we got out in the three kayaks and I fished from the paddle boat. Water was cold and clear but refreshing. We enjoyed great evenings by the fire pit gazing at the Milky Way. By the end of the week high was 44 degrees and rain. We sat in screened porch with beach chairs some tunes and cocktails of choice with an electric heater to keep us warm.
Thanks so much to Thomas for sharing this cabin. He is super responsive when contacting. Had a great time.
We decided to take a last-minute long weekend from Minnesota to Michigan to celebrate mine and my fiancé’s engagement with our four-month-old! The place was amazing and Tommy and Tammy were very helpful and quick to respond when we had questions! We will be coming back! We loved the cottage, the view, and how close we were to the things we wanted to do! Beautiful sunsets and perfect views for a fire! It even rained while we were there, and the rain on the water was just beautiful from the living room window!
After a little bump in checking in everything else was wonderful. This listing says check in at 4 but the confirmation says 3. No big deal. Tammy was very accommodating to get us in. The location was perfect. Near the attractions but away from the noise of a city. I have never stayed at a place that was so peaceful. Sunsets were beautiful and the kayaks were an added bonus. Thank you for sharing your little peace of paradise.
