Location, Location, Vacation. A Lake Michigan cottage with private beach access.
With the best views of Little Point Sable Lighthouse from the expanded deck and from inside the cottage, and right across the street from Golden Sands beach, you simply cannot beat this location. This magical property has amazing beach access right across the street, and the most incredible sunsets you will ever see!
SheriDune is surrounded on two sides by Silver Lake State Forest and has a private fire pit area out back for 'Smores roasting and stargazing. With so many different zones to hang out in, your friends and family will have plenty of space to enjoy from the cottage to the huge deck to the fire pit area to the beach.
The deck is the place to be from the morning cup of coffee on. It boasts a bar height table for 4 and a picnic table for 6-8, both made from recycled milk jugs! There is another "kids" picnic table for activities and a queen-sized day bed with a sun canopy overhead. There is also a Design Within Reach plastic sofa on the deck and other seating for everything from sunbathing to stargazing!
Not to be outdone, the beach is like something you would fly thousands of miles to visit, and most of the time you have the end of this huge public beach all to yourselves.
With 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, SheriDune comfortably sleeps 8. There is a Queen in the Master, a Full-size bed in the guest bedroom, and a kids' bunk room that has 2 seats of bunks.
Simply walk across the street to access the beach via our neighbors driveway or walk across the street to the Lighthouse Beach. We also have a dunetop teak loveseat to enjoy a morning cup of coffee from or watch sunsets from or watch shooting stars or northern lights from.

It was always our family's dream to own a beach cottage and after renting on this beach for 4 years, we found this gem and made the dream come true. We have loved every moment since and have shared this special place with family and friends since 2013.
A weekend here feels like a week off, the relaxation is instantaneous and deep.
We have put lots of love into SheriDune, replacing every window and door, putting wood ceilings in the bedrooms and bathroom and ceiling fans throughout. It is cozy and comfy, and being in the furniture business, we have outfitted it with the best quality furniture inside and out, and the art throughout is all original, from the paintings to the metal sculptures.

Why they chose this property
Best of both worlds. The properties directly on the Lake are subject to high winds and blowing sand and have had their property size and hangout space significantly decreased by the rising lake the past few years. Being directly across the street and a super short walk to the beach is the best of both worlds, close enough but not too close.
You and your guests can enjoy the beach, but also enjoy lots of space to hang out from the cottage to the huge deck to the firepit in the wooded and shaded backyard. You can hike the trails of Silver Lake Forest right in the backyard, or kayak the Silver Lake Channel. There is SO much to do nearby, hike or dune buggy in the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, tubing the Stoney Lake River, Lewis Petting Zoo, or drive 15 minutes to Pentwater, a quaint town with lots of shopping and dining. Mac Woods Dune Rides is right down the street, and the Hart Montague Bike Path is close by too.

What makes this property unique
Our beach access is via our neighbors' driveway across the street, which puts you on the far north end of the Lighthouse Public Beach, but nobody comes down that far as they all think it is a Private Beach. The Private Beach starts right at our neighbors' house. We are able to leave beach chairs and toys on the beach and nobody bothers anything. Not having to haul everything up and down from the beach every day is a huge bonus.
