Sandalwood Retreat on Round Lake - Waterfront property with screened porch 

Our weeks for summer 2026 are already filing up fast! We only have a few prime weeks remaining: June 12-19 and August 21-28. Check out our pictures and book your summer getaway today!

This luxury vacation home on Round Lake in Hayward, WI sleeps 3-4 families comfortably with amazing lake views. Sorry, NO pets are allowed. The home has over 5,000 sq ft with 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. This property is meant for year-round vacationers with heat and air conditioning throughout. There is a gas fireplace on the main floor, so don’t forget about winter getaways, especially your group for the Birkie! One of our most exciting features is a wraparound deck with a fully enclosed screened porch to enjoy spectacular sunsets. The bonus space above the garage has an additional area for guests to enjoy with a toy area and Nintendo Wii U gaming system for the kids.

The basement is meant for entertaining! There is a large lounge area with big screen TV, as well as a kitchen and bar area with an additional TV. And don’t worry, you won’t be disconnected either. There is high speed Starlink satellite Wi-Fi throughout the property for everyone to use. For those rainy summer days we have plenty to do inside including a commercial grade air hockey table, 4-player arcade machine and Shelti foosball table. Check out our pictures to see all the toys!

For spring, summer and fall renters you can walk right out the basement slider to a large, smokeless firepit with 8 chairs provided. There is a propane grill with gas for your outdoor BBQ! And when you are done, enjoy an outdoor game with our custom printed bean bag boards while you lounge by the fire. Or go down the stairs to enjoy the lake, where there is a large dock space with a splash pad, kayaks and a paddleboard for use. Please note items in the above paragraph are not available in the months of Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March, or April. Dock availability is no earlier than May and depends on the ice melting off the lake.

The cabin is located on the main body of Round Lake with sweeping views of the lake. We are located just minutes from local restaurants Powell’s on Round Lake, The Dock and Tamarack Farms BBQ, pizza and winery. The town of Hayward is only 10 minutes away to enjoy shopping, go karts, mini golf and of course the candy shop!

You can bring your own boat or pontoon to the property and there is ample parking room for a trailer. There is a boat/pontoon lift that will accommodate any pontoon and most boats as well. We require use of the lift overnight and during inclement weather to avoid damage to the dock or boats as well as property of our neighbors. If you are looking for rentals, we recommend contacting Round Lake Marina or Hayward Power Sports to help with pontoon or boat rentals for your visit. If you are interested in renting something for your stay, we recommend calling these places right away as they book fast!

For the summer months of mid-June, July and August, check-in will be on Friday with check-out the following Friday, with 7-night stay required. Off season stays will be a 2-3 night minimum.

Paradise in the Northern Woods

Our family has been coming up to the northern woods for the past 35 years. We enjoy renting houses on different lakes. SandalWood and Round Lake are by far the best! We would love to stay there again!

Beautiful property

We used to own a home in this area, and our grown children wanted to revisit the area with their families. This property was perfect for the 10 of us. The property provided all the necessary features to provide fun on a rainy day, along with the outdoor activities later in the week. We love this house! Works perfect for our family of 18. Plenty of space. Space over the garage works perfect for Grandma and Grandpa to have their own space. The lake is one of our favorites ever. We spend all day at one of the sand bars. Depth at the end of the pier is perfect to jump off of. Plenty of fridge space with the basement fridge and bar cooler. Screened in porch is the highlight of the house. Comfy beds. Bonus, TJ is awesome and easy to work with!

Absolute perfection!

Our stay at this beautiful home was absolute perfection! The house accommodated our large group perfectly! Perfect location for our family! We brought our boat for the first time - the lift worked great - seemed like it could fit a lot of boats. Lake was great - lots to explore, and it wasn't small. The house was loaded with toys and games any kind of group would work here:). We had a great time!

Great modern cabin on a crystal clear lake

We’ve stayed at many properties through VRBO and this one was top notch. The property managers were very proactive and responsive in communicating before and during arrival. Boating, fishing, swimming, beautiful sunsets and lots to do inside when the weather didn’t cooperate with the game room, open living area and spacious screen porch. We couldn’t ask for more and hope to return in the future.

Round Lake Beauty

We rented this property to stay after my Dad's Celebration of Life. It was the perfect location and home to enjoy time with Family and Friends. It was well stocked and so easy to enjoy time with many people. We didn't have great weather which made the huge screened in porch a life saver. This home is so well appointed and the owners are very responsive. Would rent again if heading back to the area. Loved It!

We enjoyed the opportunity to be together in a home that gave all family members the space and flexibility to enjoy each other’s presence as well as time to be apart and respectful of each person’s feelings or needs. Very please with the communication and the upkeep and cleanliness of the property. The space above the garage was a wonderful haven for the teenagers and the common areas had ample space for gathering. Family week at the lake

This property is first class all the way, the hosts thought of everything and is very well supplied. It even included a multi-game video machine that the kids absolutely loved. Temperature control and internet was very good and rooms beds and showers were all very nice. Kitchen was well equipped. The property is located on certainly one of the nicest lakes in Wisconsin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking for a week next year when we can rebook. Thank you

Family Vacation Central

Our family had a wonderful stay at Sandalwood Resort. This house has been well thought out for large groups/families. From two washers and dryers to two ovens. The flow of the kitchen was great when feeding everyone. The screened porch was lovely to sit out on at night. My mom was able to spend most of the day out there, listening to the laughter of the grandkids and great grands. We had four generations in Hayward this year and this truly couldn’t have fit our family better. Thank you!

We Love Sandalwood Retreat!

We are a group of 11 adults that go on an annual Labor Day trip every year, and this was the best year yet thanks to the Sandalwood Retreat. The house had more than enough space for everyone and their belongings. We were thankful to have two full kitchens and multiple places indoors and outdoors to hang out. Whether we were hanging out as a large group or we were split up into smaller groups or enjoying some alone time, the house accommodated all of our needs without feeling crowded. The hosts also provided awesome indoor and outdoor games that we enjoyed. This is a great place for any large group, and we can't wait to hopefully return next year!
