We greatly enjoyed our stay! The property was very nice and the property manager was wonderful!
Our stay at Sugar Mountain was wonderful! The property was very nice and any questions that we had, the property manager was extremely timely in answering. We will definitely be back!
We absolutely loved everything about this property, including the property owner! We had to make a last-minute change to our plans due to a major storm and they were kind and caring and worked with us through everything. The only thing I wish we had known prior to our trip is that the building is at the very top of a mountain and, in the event of snow/ice, the road requires studded snow tires or chains, neither of which were possible for our 2-wheel drive car. But we still had a lovely trip and are so thankful to have had such a cozy place to spend some time! From the back porch, you can see the entire Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and we enjoyed getting to watch the skiers and snowboarders braving the sub-zero temperatures!
The condo was very nice, clean, & spacious. We loved view, & balcony, & location was convenient. WE wanted to light logs, unfortunately they were not working at the time. Parking was not ideal, however the shuttle staff to & from lot was efficient, nice, & helpful. We would visit again, just not on a holiday, stood in long lines everywhere around. Live & Learn! Owner was helpful, with fast responsiveness.
We had the best time. We have stayed at SugarTop Resort multiple times and are aware of the parking situation. It’s not the best, but they do a good job running the shuttles. This was hands down the nicest condo we have ever stayed in. The host was wonderful and got back to us quickly with any questions we had. Condo is very clean and cozy. This Condo is on the ski slope side so at night it was nice to see the slopes all lit up. Nice views during the day as well. The pool and hot tubs are very nice! We will definitely stay again!
The building and condo are as they look in photos. Nice pool, sauna, etc. The views aren’t fantastic because it’s located in a populated area, but the lights are pretty at nights. As a central location I liked it, but there is no place to walk around outside because of the location, just the parking lot. The condo was comfortable, but the kitchen lacks some basic cooking/baking ware.
Enjoyed the stay. Very nicely appointed apartment with fresh, new furniture and accessories. Very comfortable. However, the parking situation was pretty bad. We had to park at various unpaved, muddy lots down the mountain and shuttle to and from our car and the building in an overcrowded van. It was quite inconvenient. Especially in cold weather.
Unit was clean and mostly comfortable, rock hard bed, not for us. Parking bit of an issue, need to use shuttle between building and several nearby lots, bit of a hassle, enough so that I would look for another place next time, shuttle drivers were great, but I’m just sayin
We had an amazing time at the property which exceeded our expectations - clean, updated and provided unparalleled views @ 9th floor. When touring the Grandfather Mountain I realized that the hotel is at the same proximate altitude! Kids enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi tub. Make sure to check Banner Elk shops and restaurants.

Highly recommended! Great apartment. Very clean. Loved the spectacular views. We had a late night check in which was very easy and the only issue was tv in living room wasn’t working. Owner was great to work with and was prompt at responding and had Maintenance arriving first thing the next morning and they corrected the issue. Parking close to the building was very limited and we had to ride a shuttle back and forth to our vehicle which wasn’t too bad of an ordeal. The drivers were very nice. Only thing I would add is maybe Night lights in the bathrooms to help ease the brightness of light late at night. I will definitely keep this unit on my “5 star” list for future stays!
