I love the area. I love the room. The stay was very comfortable and I also felt safe there. It was a very good experience. I would definitely rent out the studio again!
I stayed 2 week-nights as a single traveler. The space was nice but there were 3 major issues.
1. They violated the cardinal rule - they opened the exterior door to the space using the door lock code at 11pm on my first night there, while I was in bed, in my nightgown, all lights off.
They knocked twice first, with me responding verbally, then I heard the beep of the code being entered. By then I was yelling and was pretty freaked out.
The next morning, Lori explained that it was her husband, but only after I inquired.
My issue is - Why would anyone go into a space that was rented and paid for?? Especially after I notified her that I was working late and would arrive late.
2. The room smelled HEAVILY of ethnic food. I'm guessing Asian. I love Asian food but the scent permeated the clothing I left out. I thought maybe it was the meal they cooked that night but it was just as strong on the 2nd night.
3. It was a cold-rainy night. I got in around 10pm (51* outside temp) to a VERY COLD room with no thermostat that I could see and no warmth from the HVAC. There was a thermal disc heater in the closet that took until around 12am to warm the sleeping space.
After my communication on the 2nd morning about the person opening the door at 11pm, I was offered to let them know if I needed anything else but honestly, I was mortified. I did not want to ask for anything for fear they would enter the space.
Unfortunate stay for me.
