Mike’s Cottage exceeded our expectations. The cottage was clean, and spacious. Better than photographed. The cottage was well equipped in the kitchen having ample amount of everything we needed. The deck was a cozy spot to enjoy meals or sit and read a book. We enjoyed the fire pit as well. The lake was beautiful. Great Lake for water sports. We enjoyed watching other boats go by. But it wasn’t overly populated. We caught some nice fish too. Was nice to kayak down the close by Chanel. Both the neighbouring towns of Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls are cute towns for day trips. There is a small cluster of cottages in a nice neighborhood setting, it was quiet and very friendly neighbours, made for nice walks and bikes around. Mike was a great host. Easy to communicate with. Was very responsive to answering our questions prior to getting there. Even checked in with us part way thru to make sure everything was ok. He was also very willing to accommodate us so we could bring our own boat. We would rent this cottage again. Very great all around experience here.

We had a wonderful summer week at the end of August 2026. The host was great, any issues or questions we had were heard and solved right away. We're a family of 6 and brought 3 of our kids' friends along too. Even with 9 of us, everyone had enough space. The cottage itself was very nice, it had everything you could think of. Kitchen was really well equipped... Even for big groups like us. a few key things potential renters may want to know...1) We brought our own boat and seadoo and felt like there wasn't sufficient room to park our stuff on the dock because the owners have their own powerboat, large pontoon boat, and 2 seadoos parked there. I did mention it to the host and he offered to talk to some neighbours to have them let us use their dockspace, but we didn't want to bother anyone and we just made due. We figured it out, but it just would have been nice to know coming in that space was limited on the dock, it felt crowded2) the lake was pretty weedy a few feet off the end of the dock, if your family is like ours... Swimming at the cottage is the main attraction... Our kids literally want to swim ALL day long. This is no fault of the host, its just the nature of this lake3) sturgeon lake has zebra mussels, which if you don't know they are very sharp and attach themselves to the rocks on the bottom of the lake, the host warned us and suggested water shoes. I didn't want to go buy 9 pairs though, but we paid for it with lots of little tiny cuts on our feet lol

Lovely Cottage

We had fantastic weather and enjoyed sitting overlooking the lake. The house had everything we needed. Kids loved swimming off the dock. Communication with the owner was very good.

Great family getaway

The property was better than advertised. My family and brother's family shared the property for 3 nights. The town of Felolin Falls was wonderful and we wish we had more time on the lake! Mike was quick to respond to email and made sure the property had everything we needed plus!

The cottage has a great view of the lake and is well set up. It was able to easily and comfortably accommodate our group of 6, which included adults and three teenagers. We took advantage of the available kayak, the dock and swimming in the lake, and some of our party enjoyed playing golf at the nearby golf course. The teenagers also really enjoyed learning how to make smores over the campfire. Mike's communication was prompt and really useful. We also really appreciated the check-list provided to help us when checking out.

We had an amazing stay at this cozy cottage! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The kitchen had all the essentials, making it easy to cook meals, and the living area was perfect for unwinding after a day on the water. We used to swim from the dock, which has stairs into the water. The location was convenient, just a short drive from Fenelon Falls and local shops and restaurants. We especially loved sitting on the porch in the mornings with our coffee, enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings. While there’s no air conditioning, each room is equipped with fans. Mike was very responsive and helpful, answering all our questions promptly and ensuring a smooth check-in process. The detailed checkout instructions were also very helpful.Overall, this cottage is a perfect spot for anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy some peaceful time outdoors. We definitely recommend this cottage for your next getaway.
