The house was super bright & full of sunshine. Everything was new and very clean. We loved that there is a separate room with a TV so others can talk and be comfortable in the living room. The neighborhood was quiet and the community was friendly. We loved our stay and would definitely return!
House was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room for our group of four adults. Very clean and comfortable. Perfect location if you want to ski or snowmobile. Host was easy to reach. Would definitely stay here again!
Exactly as described - perfect location for our tournament Would love to come back and explore the area. Definitely try to stay here again if available.
Put together cute , older house that would benefit from a couple storm doors. Wind blowing so much around them we had to crank the heat to make main floors tolerable, which made upstairs bedrooms almost too hot to sleep. Granted it was 10-15 degrees outside. FewOther niceties in kitchen would be some foil and ziplock bags for leftovers. No outside address numbers on house, drove around block 3 times to verify we had right place.
We came looking for snow and found it. This house was very clean and cozy. The location was close to Swede town and we were able to day trip to Copper Harber and Mount Bohemia spa.
My family stayed here over Christmas so that we could spend the holiday with our son who is stationed nearby with the Coast Guard. It was a perfect home base for the 4 of us. The house is very comfortable and cozy and the host was so kind to provide us with a Christmas tree and decorations . She also left us some delicious local fudge and a nice coffee bar. Both were a very nice unexpected treat. The size was perfect for the four of us, washer/dryer were handy, smart TV made streaming a breeze. Bedrooms were basic but comfortable. The house is on a busy corner. Pulling in and out of the driveway is absolutely no problem. The only reason I mention this is because you do hear traffic at night. We cooked a lot during our stay. While the kitchen supplies were basic, we managed just fine. I do feel that scratched teflon should be replaced, though. Overall, we had a perfect holiday here and hope to see back… when it’s warmer !
The unit was immaculate. It is not cluttered, which we like. Everything worked well. The unit is located in Laurium, but just a mile or so from downtown Calument, which has some great shopping and restaurants. Would stay here again.
My family and I stayed here to get my son moved in to MTU for his first year. The house was just like the pictures. Very bright, clean, and spatious. It suited our needs perfectly, and the host quickly responded to us when needed. House is easy to find and lots of stores within 10inutes away.
Home was immaculate when we arrived. Lots of kitchen supplies....ground and whole bean coffees, plus Keurig machine and cups. Sugar, creamers....teas....lots of supplies there.
VERY close to downtown Calumet....easy walking distance if so inclined. Quite the place for Michigan History !!
The house was cute and very clean. It’s right outside the downtown area and an easy drive from Houghton. Lots of beautiful places to hike and explore. We traveled with a 2 year old and 6 month old. There was plenty of room for a pack n play in the larger bedroom and nothing for the kids to get into that they shouldn’t.
Overall the property provided us what we needed, a place to relax and sleep after exploring areas in the Keweenaw Peninsula. It was quite warm while we were there, so the downstairs area got a little stuffy without central air, but it wasn’t too bad.
Nice clean accommodations within walking distance of Calumet restaurants and historic sites. Central location in the Keweenaw for exploring a variety of beaches and hiking trails.
This home is beautifully updated and perfect for up to three individuals or two couples and a single.
Swedetown trails, groceries and the center of town are just a few blocks. The owner was super responsive to all communications.
We have stayed here a couple times and will be back!
This is a great place to stay. It is freshly renovated and very clean. The location is good. It is close to the local grocery store and it is a block off 41. It is walkable to the hospital. There is a bit of road noise but it is not too bad. It has a nice big driveway that could accommodate multiple cars. I would definitely stay here again.
Cute house located close to many conveniences. House is updated and super cute. Sleeps 6 - we had 4 in our party and it was tight for the 4 of us to watch TV in the Room with the TV not sure how 6 would fit in that room. Overall a great spot close to everything
My son and I stayed in this beautiful little house during Michigan Tech's move-in weekend. The house looks tiny from the outside but, once inside, is deceptively spacious. There are two living areas, one with a TV, and a well-appointed kitchen. The master bedroom and the secondary queen bedroom are good size, but the single bedroom is quite small -- suitable for a child or someone without luggage (this isn't a "bad" thing, just something to note if booking the house).
The house was exceptionally clean and well appointed, including a full-size washer/dryer. The two bathrooms are beautiful, with large showers (no bathtub) and plenty of towels. And although we brought our own toiletries, the host helpfully provided hand wash, body wash and shampoo.
A previous review called the neighborhood "tired," which is unfair. The neighborhood is old -- but so is almost everything in the Keweenaw, and Calumet in particular, so that hardly seems an important descriptor. What is important is that the house sits on a corner lot of a rather busy street (at least, it was busy when we were there) so that's something to consider if you're a light sleeper. It didn't bother us, but we did notice it.
All in all, we really loved staying at this house! It gave us plenty of room to spread out, a lovely kitchen in which to cook meals, and a perfect location convenient to MTU and everything else the Keweenaw has to offer.
We'll absolutely stay here again!
Very nice updated and clean home. Plenty of room to spread out. Location worked great for us while visiting Calumet and traveling around the Keweenaw Peninsula.
