Grays Crossing Stay, August 2025

Wonderful place to spend a week in our favorite town, Truckee! A modern home, in a great location that is quiet yet close to town. Tastefully furnished and very comfortable, we enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and gathering around the pool table. Everything you need for a short or extended stay is provided. The property would benefit from having an exterior table suitable for having a family meal, and lacks comfortable outside seating eg a couch for sitting around the fire pit. Note fire-pit is not operational due to wildfire risk in the area. We would also have appreciated having access to a garage door opener.

Perfect for two families to enjoy during the summer

The lavish cabin had plenty of space for our two families (4x adults, 3x children under the age of 5) to spread out and enjoy the early summer in Tahoe. The location is excellent: 30 min to the reno airport, 5 min to downtown Truckee, and 20 min to Palisades / Tahoe City. Also, the management team at TG was excellent and responsive, including helping us with a late checkout. We look forward to coming back very soon (can we come back now??).

Great House/ Well Appointed

Our family of 4 (plus a guest) really enjoyed our stay. The house is in great condition and the kitchen is very well appointed, especially for a rental. My daughter and her friend did some baking and they felt like they were at home. All the bedrooms had really comfortable beds and the bathrooms were spacious. The upstairs entertainment room with a pool table was a nice addition. One thing to consider: if you're planning on enjoying a big televised sporting event or are really into watching movies, etc., this might not be the ideal place as all of the TVs are clearly afterthoughts and are oddly situated without surround or high quality audio. We never turned a TV on once so it didn't matter to us but just something to keep in mind. We would most definitely rent again at this property. And one note on Tahoe Getaways is that they are extremely strict with their policies. Very friendly and responsive, but also very strict. We were actually in Tahoe on this particular weekend to look at lots and properties to purchase and if we ever did rent out our vacation home, I think I'd want our management company to be a little more flexible and customer friendly. I do understand why they are so strict from a pure business perspective, but I doubt owners renting out such high value homes care much about a renter leaving a day early or otherwise making adjustments to a reservation.

Wonderful Home Away from Home

This house has everything you could need in a vacation home. The furnishings were top notch, the kitchen was very well stocked. The house had plenty of room for our family of 6, the kids really enjoyed the backyard. We look forward to our next visit.
