Welcome to Zen by the Sea!

Escape and relax in this NEWLY renovated beautifully decorated two-bedroom condo. Step onto your private deck to enjoy views of the open courtyard and pool, all while taking in the refreshing sights and sounds of the sea.

Channel your inner chef in the large gourmet kitchen, complete with granite countertops, NEW stainless steel appliances, and a NEW full stock of dishes and cookware to create memorable meals with family and friends. After a day of fun, unwind on our new couches with a good book, engaging conversation, or a movie.

Enjoy the three pools and beach for some outdoor fun in the sun. Don't forget your binoculars to spot dolphins playing in the surf!

At the end of the day, retreat to the spacious primary bedroom featuring a NEW comfortable king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a granite vanity, walk-in closet, and a shower/tub combination. The second bedroom offers a NEW Queen bunk set and a full-size bathroom conveniently located just across the hall. There are two roll-away beds in the primary bedroom closet.

The complex provides two gyms, three pools, an open courtyard with gas grills, and garage parking for one vehicle with a parking pass. Sanctuary Stay

The property was in really good condition, except when I rented it.The sanctuary needs luggage carts. It was very difficult getting from the car to the elevator from the elevator to the room. My shoulder still hurts. Otherwise everything was great

Parking was horrible

We was told we’d have two spaces to park. We ended up with one and a maybe. You had to drive around looking for an empty space with no #’s. Then if you drive a mid size suv you can forget about it. The we get up the elevator and our room number is not listed one the wall so we had to search for our room. It was not at all what we expected. This was a first and last condo experience for our family.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at the condo. It was beautiful, perfect and spacious for the five of us. It was wonderful to be able to walk right out to the beach and to all the pools. It was nice to be able to cook meals and wash any clothes. The only negative is that we felt it was a little odd that there was no overhead lighting above the dining table and that there were no lawn chairs in the storage area to take to the beach. We drove in and didn't want to have to bring or buy beach chairs for stay. But overall, it was perfect for us and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend this property.

The coffee machine leaks and you should add luggage racks but my biggest inconvenience surrounded your housekeeper locking me out at precisely 10:01 am as I was running back up during packing the car to quickly grab one last bag of my young daughters things we could not carry. When I called the office I was transferred out on hold and hung up on.

Very dirty

Couch was covered in stains. Cushions on couch broken down. We covered with sheets. The floors had sand all over them, so they were never washed. The kitchen had two broken can openers, also rusted. Very few cereal bowls, small glasses. We had to run the dishwasher every day. There were clothes from someone in the washing machine. Furniture was old, dresser drawer broken. The screen going out to porch was ripped off a large corner . The bathrooms had stuff from previous renters. All handles were sticky. The bathrooms were clean, the porch was amazing, the towels were good! I would never recommend this place. If it weren’t for the porch, I wouldn’t even give it a 2. We have stayed in Sandbridge for 17 seasons and this was the worst.

Where’s the pool?

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were under the expectation that the pool in front of our condo was going to be open...it wasn’t. Nor was the hot tub. The only access to the pool that we had was in front of the other building and the one closest to the beach. The patio was pretty boring without the hustle and bustle of the pool. The condo was clean, but not suitable for 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The second bedroom was better suited for children, as the bed was a foam pad not a box spring and mattress. Parking was difficult for 2 vehicles. There was one assigned parking spot and the other was open to the public...and there were approximately 4 unmarked spots for the entire resort. From the descriptions we expected more. We will not be returning to this condo or resort.

Reviewer Comments: I Stayed at the Sanctuary 325A It was a great condo had everything I needed.I always felt safe there.I loved the parking spot being able to see he Ocean thru the windows. I loved the smell of the Ocean seeing all the birds and sounds very relaxing. It snowed first time ever seeing the Sand covered in snow so beautiful and exciting. I slept well in the King size bed so comfortable. I was out the minute I hit the bed. Never hears noise from surrounding Condos. Everyone in Ocean Sands realty were excellent ifI needed something. The water in the toilet was running they sent a plummer in less than 5 minutes to fix it. Johhnie owner of Ocean Sands was a great person to deal with very friendly and helpful. I loved using key card to go outside garage and zi was on the boardwalk. They had a benches for sitting. Have direct access to the Ocean great place to watch the birds,Dolphins,saw a whale up close So amazing. I even saw a mother Sea Otter with her to babies laying on her chest. She brought them to shore and left them went into Ocean and brought it back to them breaking it up and feeding her babies then they got back on mom and she swam off. Loved keyless entry with backup key, and card for access to outside doors and elevator on a laynard.Convient to put laynard around my neck. Nice view of the pool from my balcony. I definitely recommend vacationing here. Fantastic experience. Everyone I met were helpful and friendly. Ocean Sands Realty would check in with me by text to check if I needed something great employees. Can't wait to visit again

We had ants all over our balcony and had tarro in 4 different places. Our dishwasher didn't clean very well. The water wasn't very hot in the shower. The bunk beds were not as advertised. There was sand in the bunk beds when we arrived. The king bed is terribly uncomfortable.

I had booked a trailer in the Surfside RV resort but my reservation was cancelled on me 3 days before my family and I were due to come down from NY for 2 weeks. I booked another trailer only to find out at 9:15pm Friday night (the night before we were due to drive down) that trailer would not be available either. I sent a text to Jonnie Mellen at 10:00pm in desperation and she texted me back, letting me know she had two units available, I could stay in one the first week then move to a different unit the second week. She put a hold on them and I was able to go to the office and pay after I arrived in Sandbridge. I was helped by Jordan upon arriving. I cannot say enough about Jonnie and Jordan. I will book a vacation rental through anyone except Ocean Sands from now on. Their responsiveness and dedication saved my family's vacation!

Seaside Dreams Review

Condo was located in a building right on the beach, which was awesome. Parking is convenient in a garage under the condos, so you don't need to worry about rain when unloading. Condo was clean and is good overall condition. Dishwasher should be replaced as it didn't seem to properly clean the dishes. Other than that, the condo was great and I would stay here again.

The unit was great, just as advertised.

My main complaint is the property management company. All correspondence is via text. Most of the responses were quick; however, finding the unit was the map we were given was impossible. The elevators do not properly list this unit and we were walking around for 45 min trying to find it. There is no one physically on the property to help and none of the other renters had any information. Check out info was texted the day before check out and it did provide all the proper info but I would have preferred to have it all at one time when checking in. But the unit itself was fine. Clean and as advertised.

Reviewer Comments: I choose this condo because the unit looked out over a large pool with tables and chairs and gas grills and a great covered hot tub. I have teenagers, and this would allow them some freedom but I would still be able to keep an eye on them. The pool and deck were closed with no work being done on them. The grills didn't work(gas mostly turned off) and no tables and chairs to eat at. There are two other pools, one small pool in front of the grill facing the beach, which was totally filled with little kids every time we went by, and a small pool in the other building, but because the big pool was closed, crowded all the time. I called the realtor and she said she wasn't aware of the situation until last week, and she can't control the condo association. I talked with some other folks, and they booked directly with The Sanctuary and were informed in January when they booked that these amenities were unavailable. I spent more for this unit than I wanted so feel ripped off. I did open a complaint with VBRO since that is where I did my booking and am waiting for their response. If pools are important to you, pass on this one.

Wonderful Location

The condo's are at a wonderful location far enough away from the main hub of Virginia Beach, but close enough to stores for groceries and other essentials you might have forgotten. I was disappointed at the cleanliness of the floors and counter tops. After calling the office they sent over staff to address the issues in the mean while I had it covered and took care of sweeping/mopping the floors and wiping down the counter tops. Staff was very apologetic to our concerns. It was unfortunate that the larger pool was not available as waiting for inspection. I will be going back to this location even after a few disappoints we did have a lot of fun.

NICE STAY

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was nice, it was clean but I think it could have been cleaner. There were two vacuums in the closet neither worked that great. It is very difficult to get your belongings to the actual condo from the garage with no cart, it would be the one thing I would supply if this were my rental unit. The storage area is great for coming off the beach and unloading. Everything is nicely updated and it has a nice view of the pool. It is nice to have an assigned parking space too. They do not state it in the rental info but there were boogie boards, chairs and sand toys in the storage unit. We did have issue with the door code and when I called they stated someone would be out shortly. They never once said the key on the ring would open the door. I found that out myself and thank goodness I did with three kids they did not come to get us in until 40 minutes later. Sandbridge is a nice area but isolated. There is a market right at the end of the street but outside of the few shops and restaurants there is nothing else. You can't get delivery with out paying heavily for it. The building was probably awesome in it's prime days but you can see the wear and tear. The one spa was not working and looked funky, the little river running from pool to pool always had litter in it and the waterfalls into the pool were not operational. There is a cabana type restaurant in the middle of it all they are expensive but it was nice to have some place to get lunch without driving all the way back out to the shops. It was hit and miss on if the elevators were going to work and the place is a maze. It is not easy to get to the beach from the pool or the pool to the beach or any other place within the structure for that matter. All in all it was a nice rental and although I may never stay in Sandbridge again I would recommend it.

They accidentally forgot to include our swipe cards for the outer doors. We got into our unit since we had keyless entry. The staff was vert responsive and apologetic and brought the swipe cards promptly the next morning. The rest of the week was smooth sailing! We loved the unit and the complex.

Enough kitchen gadgets, spacious living room area for family time, and good sized bedrooms. Shower head was removable which means easier shower time for toddlers. However, we wanted to point out few things that needs real improvement. 1) mattresses on the bunk beds are so old that it makes so much creaking noise and the spring itself actually pokes when you lay down. It wasn’t comfortable to sleep on that for a week. 2) the vacuum in the closet does not function at all. It makes this horrible sound when turned on! Vacuuming is essential for families with little kids. 3) this wasn’t a big deal but the tv remote controls and functionality of the TV was hard. It would get stuck on one of the non working channels and we didn’t know how to go past it. The cable service wasn’t that great. 4) in case anyone is curious, the second bedroom with the bunk bed does not get sunlight at all. 5)

the majority of the elevators were broke down and we were staying on the 3rd floor. The exterminator let himself in while we were in the unit without knocking. I feel like they could of planned that with either notice or when the unit was emptt.

The Best

We enjoy going to different beaches along the east coast for our annual family vacation. This property was the nicest we’ve stayed in. The air hockey and game table kept the teens entertained. The staff did an excellent job keeping common areas like the pool and grills sanitized during these Covid times. Fabulous place!

Family Beach Vacation

The place was nice and spacious and it was not far to get to the beach. Unfortunately for two of the days we were there the main pool closest to our unit was closed due to a pH problem and something broken. Due to Covid they clean all 3 pool from 12-1 and 4-5p which also means we lost access to all but 2 grills on the property during those times. I wish they had staggered the pool cleaning so we had pool time all day. Manager was very responsive to questions though which was good.
