Summer traveler BEWARE:No central AC in living areas and kitchen
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you want a place to relax in the summer, this is not your place!! Why? No AC in the main areas of the house. It was quite hot in July. The only place to cool off is the 3 bedrooms that have window units. Overall we enjoyed the house, but when we arrived and found out there was no AC, it was pretty disappointing that we couldn’t hang out and play games and visit with our family without sweating! The bunk room and lower level living area had no AC and only a fan. Other issues: The hot tub didn’t work, so a maintenance person was there 2 of the days working on it. Dishwasher didn’t work, so I had to troubleshoot and figured out that it wasn’t plugged in all the way. The house is old and the bathrooms need updates. The main floor bathroom only has a tub; no shower. Towels are old and worn out and rough. Positives: We liked being a little bit out of town and the kids enjoyed playing outside. The house is spacious and kitchen is well stocked. Views from the patio are very pretty.

Magical winter wonderland!
Absolutely amazing home! Big enough for everyone to have their own space, but cozy spots for all of us to enjoy family time. Kitchen was very nicely stocked and we were able to easily prepare, eat, clean, and store multiple meals over the days and nights we were there. The neighborhood was also perfectly located far enough from town to provide peace, quiet, and access to the beautiful nature surrounding Durango; but close enough to easily get into town for supplies and fun! Would recommend (highly) staying during any time of the year! Just remember the 4WD/AWD during the winter 😉

Don't Stay Here! I should have listened to the reviews..
My first negative VRBO review! This house could be great, but property management lacks integrity (specifically Cindy who I dealt with the most). You get charged all these fee's for cleaning, preparation, service etc. and this house was not prepped. When we arrived there was no WiFi or cable. I know this is petty so I was hoping this would be the only fix/complaint and we could still give a decent rating. There were a few old coke and beer cans outside in the immediate area, and the 2.5/5 gallon empty water jugs were scattered all over the grown outside the back patio. Then we used the water faucet and entire main floor stunk like sulfur. I was told that it was standing water in the p traps and to run all faucets for 15-30 min. Why are these things not part of the house preparation we pay for? This led to little or no water pressure. Day 2 we lost water completely. They even discussed moving us to another location well outside of town. This might not sound like a big deal except, it was already dark, there are 10 of us (including 4 kids and 2 disabled vets), we had a ton of groceries unpacked as well as reservations for activities in the morning, so it isn't a "simple fix". Luckily they were able to get the problem fixed later that evening, but that was almost 2 days of no showers after driving 12 hrs. Cindy seemed real concerned and told me how furious she would have been, and that reimbursement would be coming either way. We were supposed to discuss it the night before I checked out in case of other issues. No one called of course, so I called the day after getting home and Cindy offered me less than one day of reimbursement. I was going to be fine with them reimbursing the first 2 days because of water (the important part), even with us never getting wifi or cable, but less than one day of TOTAL cost was comical. Like I told her, it's not about the money, it's the principle. You don't take a vacation if the money is going to adversely affect you. This is about getting what you paid for especially when you are paying peak prices. She clearly didn't agree with me and without saying it was like "oh well". I read some negative reviews and emailed property management to question them prior to booking who assured me all was fine.. I should have just kept scrolling thru listings. I will return to Durango, but I will not return to a listing overseen by DurangoVRC-
