Disappointing Stay - Property Not as Advertised
Our recent stay at Villa Rosso di Sera March 2025, was unfortunately a huge disappointment. We had high expectations given the premium price and beautiful photos online, but the reality did not live up to the advertisement.The most glaring issue was the severe sewage smell coming from the main floor front bathroom. The odor was so overpowering that it seeped into the attached bedroom, making it completely uninhabitable, and even permeated into the living room. To make matters worse, the main floor bathroom flooded, leaking foul smelling water into the entryway and adjacent bathroom, creating a truly unsanitary environment. This rendered both the bathroom and the bedroom unusable for over half of our stay and was not resolved during our visit.Another major problem was the overwhelming presence of mosquitoes inside the villa. Most of the window screens throughout the house were either bent, broken, or didn’t fit properly, allowing a swarm of mosquitoes to enter. Despite being very diligent about keeping doors closed, we were constantly attacked by mosquitoes while trying to sleep or even just relax in the living room during the evening. Everyone in our group sustained numerous mosquito bites every night.Considering the price point and the advertised quality of the villa, this experience was a major letdown. I would strongly advise potential renters to confirm that these problems have been fully addressed before booking.
