The home was clean and the area was quiet. Perfect location to walk to the beach and downtown (8min walk). Torrence was a great host. Would definitely stay again.
In St Joe for a 6 week work assignment, loved staying here. The location can’t be beat and it was clean and comfortable. Walk to shops, restaurants and the beach.

Ralph - it was great having you! We hope you will consider staying with us again during your next assignment in St Joe!
Enjoyed a month stay visiting family. Location is perfect. If you are older, steps are steep but banister is strong. Kitchen and bath new and very nice. Would stay again.

Glad you enjoyed your stay Barbara and look forward to having you back next year!
We are locals and recently stayed here as our house was undergoing renovations. The location was great and we took advantage of being so close to downtown. The townhouse was clean, kitchen and bathroom are newly done. It was a cozy spot for our family, with the 2 of us plus our teenage kids. They did have to share a room with a bunk bed but they survived:) The mattresses were very comfortable and we all slept well. The only issue is that we got snow and there is no garage as the cars need to be parked in the back of the house. I would highly recommend staying here. The owner is very gracious and helpful.
Perfect location at a perfect price made up for any imperfections in this older home. The mattresses were all really comfy the newly-remodeled kitchen and bathroom, along with the big front porch were the best parts of this rental. Newer appliances, including a dishwasher and washer and dryer made life easier and got us to the beach quickly. As the listing photos show, some of the furnishings are dated and could use a refresh, but it didn’t bother us since we knew ahead of time what to expect.
The main attraction is definitely the location. Many times we walked to the restaurants or shops or down the hill to Silver Beach, or just a couple of blocks to the bluff for a stunning sunset over Lake Michigan. The neighborhood of historic homes is a pleasure to get acquainted with and we always felt safe.
We would return again!

Property great location, but the accommodation sucked!!!! No heat, mold, never got wifi and took a week to get cable...... Bed linen was less than desirable.
Great neighborhood with a short two-block walk to town, with Great shops, restaurants & Breakfast shop. If you like pizza just down the road over the hill towards the beach is the Silver Beach Pizza Parlor number one in the area.
We were looking for a simple place to stay for the month. This home had more than we expected and the location was perfect. We will definitely be back!
Stayed at this property for a month while working at the DC Cook nuclear plant. Very quiet neighborhood and very close to everything in downtown St Joseph. On my one day off a week you could walk to all the favorite spots in downtown. I would recommend this house to anyone.
Our family of four stays at Mr. Moore's property every year. It is perfectly located to everything in St Joseph, and he is responsive to any problems that come up. We love it!

Everything you need
Torrence's was a great landlord and host. Underrated because you can catch views of lake Michigan sunsets from the front and side porch while grilling.
The steep stairs and small bathroom are just some of the old house charms and love grows better in a smaller house, right? Thanks for a great opportunity.

Wouldn’t do it again.
Very dated extremely uncomfortable furniture and beds no WiFi terrible bathroom killer stairs to second level definitely not for seniors. Great location we walked everywhere. Owner does not return e mails we left a week early. Overall it was a very reasonable price and very quiet. Live and learn.

Excellent location!
Great summer spot, only blocks away from the beach this place offers great sunsets and a safe stay. You're walking distance from beautiful downtown Saint Joseph's food and shopping spots as well as Silver Beach and Lyons Park. There are farmers markets and festivals throughout the summer that are walking distance from this house, so it is very convenient for this. Parking in back alley, grill available for use, air conditioning, and this cozy place has a nice front porch for relaxing and chatting after a long day at the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Nice location. Nice town.
Now the bad news. No heat in upstairs bedrooms (freezing in winter). No fans for summer circulation. No lamps upstairs. Might be a good summer rental, but freeze in bedrooms in winter.

Len - I am truly sorry you did not enjoy your stay! I aim to make each guest's stay enjoyable. That said, you never informed me of any issue with the heat in the property, nor have I received any previous complaints of the heat. If you had mentioned it, I would have ensured that the thermostat was turned up to a proper setting for you. As for lamps, there are light fixtures in each of the bedrooms and the hallway up stairs so I am not sure of the need for lamps. As for window fans, we do have A/C units we place in the windows during the summer, but you were there from March to early May which were cold weather months.

Awesome place. Close to EVERYTHING!
What a great place to stay. Yes, it's walking distance to the beach. But, it's also walking distance to everything else. Downtown St. Joe is just two blocks away. Plenty of choices for all ages. The house itself is roomy and has all you need for an extended stay. The owner is very responsive, helpful and made the stay more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place.

Good house in a great location
Our family of four enjoyed our stay in this home. The location was perfect: we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go in St Joseph, and because we were two blocks from downtown, the area was quiet in the evenings when our girls went to sleep. The front porch provided "spillover" room--we often ate breakfast out there in the morning. The house itself is not fancy, but we had everything we needed. On two occasions we called the owner with small problems or questions, and he handled both immediately.
I worried that we might start to get bored staying a whole month in St Joseph, but we did not. We recommend the children's museums (we bought a membership, which let us come and go as often as we liked), Silver Beach, Kiwanis Park,
the carousel, Hidden Pointe (in Benton Harbor), and Mimi's Cupcakes. Check out the library's events: we attended two garden concerts and several events for kids. My husband and five-year-old went on a pirate adventure through the maritime museum in South Haven (definitely worth the money), and the Sarett Nature Center kept us busy for a whole day (bring bug spray).
We have two suggestions for people considering this house for a vacation:
(1) The only bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs, so everyone in your group must be able to climb stairs easily.
(2) The window units in the bedrooms and downstairs cool the rooms well, but they also block out a lot of sound. This was great for helping my kids sleep, but if you have little ones, you will want a baby monitor even when you're sleeping in adjacent rooms.
We look forward to staying in this house again next June.

excellent!!
I have stayed at this property twice this past year. I travel quite a bit and have to say this was one of, if not the best place to stay and a great value. The location is prime, and the owner was always very helpful. I fell in love with the area . one word to describe this place, "PERFECT". I will be back.
