The house Z'Wichjehüs **** S in Winkelmatten. The accommodation is located in family ownership and is located 1500 m from the center of Zermatt surrounded by fields. It offers apartments with free Wi-Fi and a balcony overlooking the Matterhorn. The gondola lift to Furi is 500 meters away. Several hiking and mountain biking trails start right outside the front door.

The modern Alpine-style apartments feature a fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen area, which is integrated into the spacious living area. The large windows in the apartment offer you a wonderful view and plenty of daylight.

The final cleaning fee is included in the room rate. A washing machine and a dryer are available for common use.

Next to the apartments you will find a restaurant and a children's playground. The town center can be reached in 10 minutes by bus which stops directly in front of the property. On skis you can go directly from the house Z'Wichjehüs and back. Alternatively, take the bus back for the return journey.

Stunning view of the Matterhorn

The owners are on the property, so it would’ve been easy to contact them, if needed. This was our first trip to Zermatt and seeing the Matterhorn was breathtaking - no matter how many times you look at it. The view from this property cannot be described- it’s perfect! The property is at a bus stop which is necessary because walking TO town is no problem, but walking FROM town is a bit of a challenge (uphill) after walking back once, we either took the bus or taxi. All in all a lovely place and we would definitely stay there again 😊

Fantastic property and location with very kind hosts. It is just 5-minute walk downhill to the ski lift. Warm and comfortable and felt great to return to after skiing each day. The building has a perfect room to store skis, but it is even easier to store them in a locker at the lift (for free). We'd definitely stay here again.

This was perfect place for our stay in Zermatt. Our family of 5 spent 3 nights here. Coffee on the deck in the morning and cold beers after full day of hiking. Bus stop right out front door. Was nice to enjoy Zermatt without being in bustle of downtown area too.

We had an incredible time staying here. The location gives you unobstructed views of the Matterhorn. The apartment was very cozy and clean. Barbara was a perfect host. Oh, and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for helping to make our time in Zermatt so enjoyable!

Excellent Apartment and Views!!

Very clean, neat apartment. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Views of the Matterhorn were amazing! Great access to hiking trails and lifts. Everything is within walking distance, but having the bus stop at your front door was perfect for rainy days and to/from the train station with luggage. Eating out can be expensive, but grocery stores in town were great and reasonably priced. Highly recommend Restaurant Reid on the Gourmetweg trail, amazing views, great host (Mike) and food.
