Perfect for families

Perfect for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 toddlers). Located in a safe, quiet neighborhood steps from the beach, it was truly what we needed to take a break from the grind. Héctor is very kind, very responsive and was a pleasure to work with. I'm looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Great stay and great host

This is our second time staying at Villas de Playa and it was perfect. It’s a great size and fit everyone comfortably (4 adults and a toddler). It’s so close to the beach and has a lovely yard that our toddler enjoys exploring every morning. We would absolutely stay there again in the future. Hector is a great host and remained in communication with us throughout. Highly recommend!

Our goal was to spend time with the last living great grandparent. The location was perfect, reasonable distance to airport and to family. It was spacious enough to host a small dinner with family when their power went out. The rooms were spacious even though we didn’t need all of them. We just enjoyed our last visit to this same location we decided to use it again. This place never disappoints. I’ve already recommended it to friends for their future travel plans.

The directions that Hector provides are spot on and took us directly to the spot. We walked in and my first thought was how warm it was inside there, but the AC units really really kept every room VERY comfortable. The location to the beach is great, it is just a short walk through the gated community and then directly across the street. We spent a lot of time there and enjoyed the sunset each night. The unit had everything we needed to be comfortable from bedding, toiletries, cookware, a washer and dryer, and cleaning materials. We all enjoyed resting after our long days in San Juan on the back patio under the fan. It was so beautiful. The kids loved the hammock and swing chair especially. Dorado is the perfect location to be away from the busyness of San Juan yet close enough to spend the day there exploring. We felt very safe there with our 2 grown children and 1 minor daughter. We hope we will be able to come again one day. We would absolutely recommend staying here. Hector was very responsive to my texts and helped answer some of our questions about various possible tours. Thanks again for everything!

Fantastic Family Visit to Dorado

We had a fantastic stay in Dorado. The property is exactly as described in the post. My husband and I were there with my mother and 3 year old. Everyone was very comfortable and there were so many spaces to enjoy. We were able to walk right up to the beach which was quiet and beautiful. The check-in process required a couple of steps, but everything was clearly communicated and we were able to get in pretty quickly. I highly recommend staying here, especially families!

Perfect for families with kids!

The property is in excellent condition. It has AC units in every room and common area, (2) parking spots and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. The check-in process was straightforward and Hector (Host) was very kind, courteous, and very fast to respond to the few questions we had. It's about a 3-minute drive to the nearest beach - which is across the street from the main entrance to the complex - and getting from the apartment to the swimming pool is probably about a 15-second walk. The area itself is quiet, safe, and centrally located. We had a grocery store that opens 24/7, a pharmacy, a gas station, many restaurants, an emergency care hospital, and a police station. Without traffic, it's about a 40-minute drive to the airport. Overall, I had a great experience and truly enjoyed my stay at Hector's apartment, will be looking to stay here next time I travel to Puerto Rico.

The paradox of value lives in this Village

Value certainly is the best way to describe the Villa. It is comfortable, everything works in spite of age and worn out looks, can accommodate a lot of people and has many amenities within the complex and near by. If you are looking for a place to sleep with a large family and with everything included (A/C, microwave, stove, washer-dryer, TV and even a BBQ) look no further. If you are looking for luxury or a hint of it, this is not the place for you. Although equipped, the villa is showing its age and its utilitarian style is without any pretension of being something else. The Good: The villa has everything you may ask for except perhaps a large oven Pool, beach, food, bar and other amenities at walking distance. Beach is clean and average for PR. Plenty of restaurants near by Friendly neighbors will try their best to make your stay comfortable and show everything PR has to offer The not so bad, not so good: Every appliance is extremely dated except the fridge which sometimes makes you wonder if you will get electrocuted while operating Luxury, or pretention of it is not a raison d'etre for this property. It shows "this is for rental purposes and nothing else" all over the place Security Guards are sometimes annoying with many and often conflicting rules. i.e.: I have one guard that had the pretention that I will use the BBQ (coal) inside the house because it was not permitted to be used outside the property (fire code and smoking out of question) Two very long stairs to reach the top floor. This property is NOT for people with motor disabilities No A/C in all areas only in bedrooms. Auxiliary room in master bedroom also without A/C Ceiling fan in living room not working or if working unable to change speed Be ready to crank $30 for parking (not included) What you want to forget or to forgive: Some power plugs are loose and some corroded which makes a case for small kids and electricity chock fearsome adults Large oven in the stove was condemned Some cockroaches in the cabinets which were (by the way) nevertheless dirt TV works but DirecTV is something that you need to pre-pay and somehow make work Only one set of keys and one fob for the parking gate Owner's sister was only contact in PR and she was not very interested in our status or even the property status

This is an amazing place. The community is so nice and peaceful and the pool is great. The local beach is small but a larger public beach is just a short drive away--we went to both. We would definitely stay again and had a great trio.

L! annonce ne corresponds pas à la réalité.

Cette maison nous a décue. Dans la fiche sur le site de VRBO les photos montrent un angle qui ne laisse pas supposé que nous habiterons dans une maison en rangée. Nous pensions, selon les photos ,vivre dans une maison détachée avec un terrain privé. Pour ce qui est de la propreté celle-ci est vraiment déficiente au niveau de l'entretien de la maison. Le garde manger dégage une odeur d'humidité et de vieux aliments pas agréable du tout. La cuisine avec ces vielles armoires, l'eau dans le bas de l'évier, le côté très vieux des installations. Oui toute la maison est vielle, sombre et devrait être mise au goût du jour. Et que dire de la propreté de la galerie un amoncellement d'objets pas rangée et le barbecue sur celle-ci i n u t i l s a b l e tellement il est sale. Incroyable ! et idem dans une moindre mesure pour la laveuse-sécheuse. Aussi ouf! les oreillers dans le chambre du 2ième a jetter tellement elles sont vielles. Pour la lumière dans les chambres il y a beaucoup ..sauf que dans celle du 2ième il n'y a pas de toiles obscursistantes, et les pigeons font un bruit d'enfer la nuit..Hélas ma note est failble en raisons de plusieurs irritants. Positivement, nous avons aimé la piscine, le patio, la divison de la maison. L'annonce nous montrait une image très bien de cette maison et la réalité n'est pas celle-la, nous trouvons que le prix demandé est exagéeré.Nous demandons un remboursement partiel au propriétaire et à VRBO conjointement dans les 15 jours.

Week in Dorado

It was the perfect property for my wife, in-laws and I. We love to visit places and have the convenience of cooking our own meals and this was perfect. Playing dominoes on the porch in the evenings made it extra special. The beach is a very short walk and very pleasant. We'd recommend this property to any family.

Great Experience

This location was great to us. We had everything we needed at our disposal. The owner was extremely detailed at how to enter the facility and everything required. The only negative is that we couldn’t find the gate beeper to enter the gated area, but the light post light was out and we couldn’t see it. There was also a misunderstanding with security and in one phone call, the owner took care of it right away. The beach across the street is gorgeous! It was really nice to see all of the families enjoying the day and the kids jumping off the pier. The water was so clear and warm, the sun was so good to us! The locals/neighbors were so nice and friendly. Everything was near by, gas, pharmacy, restaurants, supermarket, etc. Old San Juan is only 25 minutes away!! Parking, pool, beach, back/front patio area, washer, dryer, towels… I could go on and on. We are planning a return trip and this is where we will stay! Thank you for everything Hector!

It is a very spacious comfortable place.

The listing description is very accurate, it accommodated 3 families with plenty of room to spare. The property is a bit outdated and it was not as clean as I expected, but once I cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen to my liking I was pleased. The owner is great at answering all your questions before booking. His sister is the POC once you arrive and she is an absolute jewel, she is incredibly helpful and very customer service oriented. I would definitely recommend this property to others and will be willing to book it in the future. I would have given them 5 stars except for the fact that the key issue is very annoying. There is only one set of keys and one control for the gates, we had 3 rental cars and one of us was always inconvenience having to let the other ones in. The good thing is that since the beach is so close, the walk to let others in was not so bad. The property is within 5 minutes to supermarkets and places to eat. Katrina's and D' Angelos restaurants have awesome seafood. Service at D Angelos is way better than Katrina's. Every thing is close by, we spent one day in El Yunque, another day we took the ferry from Catano and went to old San Juan to name a few. I want to thank the owners for allowing us to use their property we had a terrific time!!!

A place to relax

My wife and I came here to relax. We had the beach only 3 minutes away walking. This is the perfect location to have a romantic get away or bring the family. With enough space for everyone's to sleep and with quiet neighbors you will feel at peace. The area is very secure and gated. You are only 30 minutes from San Juan and all the wonderful things it has. Going to other areas of the island is easy to with a great highway system that is very close to the house. I recommend this location to anyone going to Puerto Rico. Price is excellent too.

I am an international education professional. This property is my getaway hangout whenever I want to have some down time. My favorite things to do here are reading in the hammock hanging in the balcony, cooking barbecues, and -amidst guitar music- enjoying drinks with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

Several reasons led me to buy this property. The town of Dorado is considered by most Puerto Ricans as one of the prettiest, cleanest, and most well-kept in the island. For that same reason it is home to many of finest hotels and golf courses in the island. In a addition it is only a short 30 minute drive to San Juan, making it very accessible to amenities in the capital. Safety was another major concern, and in that regard, the community is hard to top. Lastly, the peace and quiet that characterizes the environment makes it ideal for getting away from everything.

What makes this property unique

One of the best features of this location is how close it is to almost anything you might want or need. Forgot one ingredient for the recipe you were cooking? Feel like renting a movie and staying in tonight? Want to dine out? Want to go shopping? All of this and more is only 5 min away by car.
