About this property

Beautiful Mountain Views on 35 Acre Horse Farm!

Welcome to Lucky 4 Farm!
We have a unique 2000sf apartment above a horse barn, nestled in the western North Carolina mountains on 35 beautiful and private acres. Enjoy open living space with a full kitchen, full size washer and dryer, dining room that seats 6, and spacious living room with reclining sofas. Walk out onto the deck to take in the mountain sunsets and watch the horses graze in the pasture. After a day of fun in downtown Asheville, come home to a hot shower and a comfortable bed so you can sit out on the porch the next morning feeling refreshed and ready to explore more of this beautiful mountain town. We are located 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, 35 minutes from the airport, and 30 minutes from the historic Biltmore Estate. This town is loaded with outdoor activities and we are less than an hour from some of the top rated mountain biking trails in the country. Want to go skiing, snowboarding or snow tubing? We are a 50 minute drive to Cataloochee Ski Area and 45 minutes to the slopes at Wolfe Ridge Resort. You can go hiking, biking, horseback riding, enjoy water sports on the French Broad River, or just stroll down and enjoy the many historic areas that Asheville has to offer. The beer scene here is AMAZING and consists of an array of micro breweries, full scale breweries, cideries, and fine dining. Being voted Beer City USA 4 years in a row, Asheville takes extreme pride in being home to over 20 local craft breweries.
Lucky 4 Farm is also home to our resident horses: Annali, Teton, Sassi, and Roscoe! We also have a pig named Hamlet who will be happy to eat all of your scraps!! While you are visiting the farm, we encourage you to say hello to the animals while remaining outside of their fences, and enjoy the magic of this beautiful 35 acres!
There is plenty of space for your mountain bikes in the horse area of the barn, and room to wash them off and clean them up after your ride. The property is GATED and secure, so no need to worry about theft. You will receive your own private code to open the gate.
We will also consider stall rental for anyone wanting to bring their horses…..please ask me about this!
We live in our house on the property and are available if needed.

Please note: this is a second story home and you will need to enter through the tack room and climb a flight of stairs to access it!

WELL BEHAVED and COMPLETELY potty-trained dogs are welcome! We can provide a crate if needed and we can also walk your dog if you plan to be gone for an extended period of time. Please ask us about this, we LOVE pets and are happy to help your furry family member enjoy their stay here!
We ask that you keep pets off of the furniture. If you do allow them on it, please put a towel down for them to lay on (there are lots of extra towels in the laundry room).
If there is any damage done due to your pet, you will be 100% responsible for the repair cost.

Best vacation rental… ever!!
This property is our absolute favorite vacation rental that we’ve ever visited!! 10/10! Our young son enjoyed being so close to horses, chickens, and the cutest pig, Hamlet. Such a wonderful property for young families!! We liked it so much that we’ve already booked our return :)

Spectacular mountain weekend on the farm
Up there with the top places we have stayed, the barn and farm provided an incredible home base for our weekend in the mountains. Our kids loved the friendly horses and pig, as well as the cows in the distance and toys/games inside. A stroll through the working barn (to reach upstairs) is a treat in itself. Our mornings, views, and stargazing on the porch won’t soon be forgotten. Clean, warm, inviting, and comfortable, this is a gem in the Asheville area.

Unique Vacation Experience with Spectacular View
Heather and Justin not only offered an incredibly unique vacation experience, but also exceeded our expectations with thoughtful gifts, including fresh eggs from their hens. Our boys and dogs loved visiting the farm animals, especially Sassy the horse and Hamlet the pot-belly pig. The view from the barn deck was spectacular. We were almost reluctant to explore Asheville because this place is so lovely. The hosts provided timely communication and fantastic hospitality. We definitely plan to come back!

Beautiful Getaway
This property is stunning. We needed a relaxing weekend away and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot. The view from the deck was amazing! The living space was extremely comfortable from the couches to the beds. We loved the big open space of the kitchen, living room, dining area. Upon our arrival there were treats for both us and our dogs left by the fabulous hosts. Highly Recommend!

Hi! We are a family of 4 who love to travel! We built our barn in 2006 and raised our 2 boys there (yes, they were raised in a barn 😆). We lived there for 10 years and in 2016 we completed construction on our forever-home. With the exception of the occasional family who visited, our barn home sat empty for 5 years. We decided to open it up to travelers who want to visit the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina! We take pride in our property and try to make it feel like home to everyone. Our 2 teenage boys are the cleaning crew and they use this money to help pay for gas, insurance, etc while in high school.

We have 5 horses and enjoy camping and trail riding with them. The horses are all friendly and love attention! Apples and carrots are their most favorite things! Our oldest horse, Sassi, will be 34 in May, 2023. We have had her since she was born 💜

We enjoy hiking and mountain biking in the area and will happily recommend trails for you to explore. We have 11 laying hens and if they aren’t being freeloaders, we always try to make sure our guests have some fresh eggs to try. The barn cats are very elusive, but sometimes you can catch a peek! We also have a sweet Aussie shepherd, and a German Shepherd who competes with me in Schutzhund!

We hope to see you out living your best life!!

Why they chose this property

It’s just one-of-a-kind. You get to live above our horse stalls! The views are gorgeous, and the serene setting is so good for the soul!
