Beautiful home with plenty of room for the whole family. Great outdoor area. Lots of seating inside and out. Perfect location to feel private and enjoy the mountain area but also very close to downtown Gatlinburg with soooo much to do in the area. Home was clean and well equipped.

When we arrived we were a bit intimidated by the driveway up. We don’t have hills where we live, but once we conquered that the house was gorgeous. Plenty of space. Looks just like the photos. We were able to have a comfortable vacation with family without being cramped. We would definitely book this again.

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable!

This cabin is perfect - so pretty and very clean! Exactly as described - no issues with it at all except for the check in process. We were given incorrect code to enter the cabin so that was quite a trial after our 4 hour drive.

Great place to make a home for the week.

The rental process and checkin were very easy and convenient. Responsiveness of the property manager was timely and very helpful. The only negative was that the lowest floor seemed to have a bit of a centipede problem with lots of them all over the floor and bathroom even after sweeping multiple times per day.

Lovely Woodsy Cabin

We absolutely loved staying in this cabin. The aesthetic of the woodsy decor was so cute and fun. We wanted to stay in a mountain cabin and this place was perfect. Everyone slept well. Plenty of beds for our group. We made good use of the hot tub, charcoal grill, fire pit, arcade game, laundry facilities, dishwasher, TVs, and everything was easy to operate. There’s a Food City grocery store a couple miles away. The entrance to the National park is a short drive away. 100% we will book again next time we come to Gatlinburg!

Smoky Mountain Getaway!

Enjoyed the stay at the cabin. The cabin is cozy and comfy, and well suited for a family to stay in and enjoy some time together. Kitchen was well stocked with all items needed to cook (including a cast iron griddle!) A few items of note to potential renters: 1) The driveway is NO JOKE. We have an AWD GMC Acadia and making the sharp turn on the steep incline I could hear the transmission grinding. 2WD vehicles will struggle getting up it and if your are driving a vehicle with a longer wheelbase like a crew cab 1500 or are towing anything it will be a struggle, at minimum, to get up the driveway. 2) If you bring a dog there's not a grassy area for them to go on. We ended up walking our dog all the way down to the bottom of the hill to do her business. For a younger dog this would probably be fine, but ours is 10 years old and she did struggle to make it back up the driveway. 3) At 2:41am on our last night there I was woken up to a BAT flying around the bedroom I was sleeping in. To say this was alarming would be an understatement. We decided to just pack up and leave on the spot since we were heading out in the morning anyway. Ultimately, if I were heading back to the Gatlinburg area again I would choose a different place to stay largely due to the driveway situation and the limited area for our dog to take care of her business. Also, the bat situation. However, if those things aren't a concern of yours then you'll enjoy your decision to stay here!

Everything was pretty good! Very large cabin on a hill! My only advice/complaint was the hot tub had not been turned on for our arrival. We could not get in it our first evening, bc it was cold. It took until the next day to get it heated.

Beautiful cabin that had serious problems in my opinion. Including: air conditioner failure, hornet like insects in one bedroom, no steps to enter hot tub, basement TV did not work, outside garbage can down steep hill with bears in vicinity, difficult parking recommend SUV or truck, no ice trays or ice maker, some TVs did not have ROKU access, refrigerator doors did not close securely, and area was not quiet (construction or saw noise, resort or swimming pool noise). Two stars instead of one for the quality of cabin construction and uniqueness of decor.

Grown Kids Family Gathering

After a daughter married in Knoxville the rest of us travelled to Gatlinburg for a change of pace. I booked This cabin because it didn’t have a designated “bunk room”. We love Queens/Kings in each bedroom to honor everyone’s adulthood. This cabin has plenty of outdoor seating for gathering and watching the 2 little ones play. We sat and rocked and caught up. The long table was critical for our games at night. The large basement also was important for sitting in a circle with family from down the road so 3 generations could play charades. This Is a great house for a big family to spread out and be comfortable. We had a bear exploring our car doors which made the day! So thrilling.

About the host

I love the Smoky Mountains and feel blessed to have actually lived in Gatlinburg. I also love the bay and beach which I currently get to enjoy. I know how important it is to get away as family, as friends, or for a special celebration. Knowing that others get to disconnect and enjoy my cabin in the beautiful Smoky Mountains is so meaningful to me.

Why they chose this property

We love this neighborhood because it is very quiet, the people are extremely friendly and it is so convenient to Gatlinburg. It is also convenient to the greatest of restaurants, national park hiking, grocery store, Anakeesta, Ober Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the list goes on and on.

What makes this property unique

Staying in Black Bears and Rockin' Chairs is like living in the beautiful secluded hardwood trees with nature all around you as the beautiful black bears frequently stroll through our property. Drinking your early morning coffee or afternoon wine while gazing into the peak of beautiful Mt. Leconte is a memory that last forever!
