Beautiful house with privacy!
This place was better than we expected! The private drive in beautiful and with awesome views! No other house anywhere in sight so it’s very private. The owners were very helpful with directions for finding the place as well! We will definitely stay again!

The good and the bad...
Why the three-star review? I will explain. First, the property was exactly as depicted in the photos and description. It was quiet, comfortable, and on our visit, the trees in their fall colors provided a stunning view. So far, this seems to be shaping up as a 5 star review, it would be but for the following. The host entered the property COMPLETELY unannounced. An unacceptable violation in my opinion. They claimed they forgot that they had visitors. Visitors that paid mind you. This was on day seven of our eight day stay. What makes this even more egregious, two days earlier the owners entered the house (which was communicated) to do a very trivial maintenance item of replacing a switch on a gas fireplace that was functioning fine for us. This would not have been worth even mentioning except for the person who entered urinated in the toilet without flushing as confirmation that someone had entered, or perhaps a reminder we were not staying at the Four Seasons. In any event, this was a completely trivia repair that could and should have waited until we left, and the home was not occupied. Entering the home two times during our stay needlessly, one being without any form of communication, removed the sense of privacy which is the exact reason we paid for the stay. We are a middle-aged couple and this behavior made us feel that we were being “checked-in on” as if we were spring break teens displaying bad behavior.

As a native northeasterner, I have grown to love the mountains of NC, its people, and call it "home". I enjoy outdoor activities, a good book and binge on Roku. My life motto is: Pray, Hope and Don't Worry! Easy to do here!

Why they chose this property

The cottage is a special place to unwind and reconnect with nature and loved ones. It has glorious views of the Blue Ridge mountains, nestled in the Pisgah National Forest. The private 1.5 mile driveway makes a good “hiking trail” around the property should you choose to just spend your week “at home in the cottage”. The pergola is the focal spot on the property for morning coffee, end of day cocktails, and sitting around the fire pit as the sun sets. There is Wi-Fi and DISH if you will be working from home.

What makes this property unique

The property is very private with great views in every room of the cottage. The nearest neighbor is about a mile away, so it is very quiet road,. There is no ambient light which makes star gazing unique. The closest supermarket is 23 miles away and there is no Uber, or food delivery. But, it is close to the AP and hiking, fishing, tubing, festivals in season, wineries, breweries, and restaurants.
