Great house on Lake Chatuge with dock and beautiful view from inside the house, and front porch. All the amenities you would expect. Weve rented this house multiple times.
Attention to detail amazing with this property! Everything you need is there. Back porch amazing view, great fishing from the dock. We all loved it and will return!
House was exactly as described on line..we loved the view and scenery..was clean and fully stocked in the kitchen..the only problem we had was fishing was poor.. we loved the dock area and we tried hard to catch fish.. we rented a boat..toured the lake.. the whole area was beautiful.. I’m sure we were there while the fishing just wasn’t good that weekend.. home was easy to find… location was great..definitely will be back.. Thank you Meredith for the great hospitality and home for our stay.
Such a great and relaxing weekend on the lake. Hiked around the area. Shopped and dined in Hiawassee just 3 minutes away. Clean, roomy, great view. Definitely a great lakefront mountain house that we will surely return to.
Second year staying in this lake front property. Loved the upgrades to the outside furniture/pillows and inside to the curtains. Overall much happier with our second stay and definitely look forward to booking next year. It is such a quiet getaway for the whole family with lots to do. The water toys are awesome and the fish gear too. My teenager and grand boys loved the lily pad and fishing off the dock. The adults enjoyed the back porch and the kayaks. Only suggestions I have are adding new pictures to website to show upgrades and providing a blower to blow off the back porch from pine needles. Can’t wait till next year or before!!
Location was excellent. Property was not well maintained. Upon arrival you're greeted with broken landscape lights and a house and walkway in need of a good power wash. Light colored furniture showed soils and white towels were in need of bleach. The shower mats were mildewed. Beautiful lake but unable to enjoy it because the patio and patio furniture were filthy. The layout of the rental was great but tough to get over some of the issues.
The perfect home for a lake getaway. It was very clean, plenty of space for my family of 4. It's a 3 bedroom, but actually has a 4th room with a bed that is just as private. The owners were always quick to answer any questions we had. Our favorite part was all the extra amenities! The garage was full of floats(large and small), yard games, badminton, balls, you name it and it was there! We set out the badminton net and disc golf and played in the large back yard at night. During the day, we rented a boat and jet skis and took advantage of the private dock.
Also to note, be sure to check out the kitchen before you head to the grocery store. It was fully supplied with coffee, filters, spices and cooking oil! So nice not to have to buy those items for our short stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Our family had the most amazing week at Meredith’s beautiful lake house! She was extremely communicative and available and was ready to answer any and all questions. It is evident Meredith and her family take great pride in their beautiful lake home, and there is no need to really bring anything except yourselves and your swimsuits; this house is well-equipped with pretty much everything! We even brought a griddle because we often use one for our daughter, but guess what…there was even one of those! There was also so much to keep the kids entertained (both on the water and inside the house). Meredith’s home was super clean when we arrived and is tastefully decorated. We were proud to call it our own for the week! We’re already planning our return trip for next summer. Tips for staying in the area: the Ingles is right down the street, and there are few pretty good restaurants. The kitchen had everything, so cooking and eating from home is the way to go if you don’t want to drive and eat beyond the few restaurants in the area. If you plan to rent a boat, do your homework. We rented a boat in advance and assumed we could take it back to the house; turns out we couldn’t do that due to location, etc. Still had a blast though. Can’t wait to do it again!
Homeowner is so communicative. This is the best stocked VRBO we've EVER stayed in - kitchen utensils, kitchen supplies, spices, anything we could need was already there and so valuable for us. We will absolutely be back.
Every year, a girls' trip is scheduled with my daughters and a few of their friends. This year was our first trip north to the lake/mountains. We chose this home due to its amazing views, lake access and back deck, which we spent the whole weekend on! We didn't feel like we were only two hours from home! The night temps and sky were amazing! Our first night we had trouble lighting and maintaining the new-looking gas grill. The housekeeper sent her "nephew" over to help and he was able to fix it while facetiming his girl who was crying on the other end for us all to hear. The home itself needs a deep clean and a facelift. Many cob webs and very unorganized kitchen. The drawers were full of random things just thrown in. Lots of clutter and the garage was a disaster. No organizaton at all. The potential for it to be a fantastic rental is there, but doesn't seem like it's a priority. As a former owner of STR, I know how much work it is and how important it is to have good help if owners are unable/willing to maintain the property. The icing on the cake was that we read in the home's manual that we were responsible for taking the trash to a local sanitation upon completion of our stay. I have NEVER had to do that nor would I expect my guests to do that. Isn't that why you have a housekeeper/manager? Shouldn't that be a part of the expense of staying there? And what a gross way to end the trip!Thank goodness for the laughs, beautiful water, sun and back deck tho.
We immensely enjoyed our stay, fantastic house and awesome lake access!! Property was as described and Meredith was very kind and communicative! We will definitely return!
The description of the house in VRBO is accurate. The neighborhood is quiet but also close to Hiawasee. If you like the outdoors, there is plenty to do. We went hiking, ziplining, and visited Helen. The house has plenty of lake activities and games. Overall, it was a great vacation.
We had an awesome stay in an exceptionally appointed house. This house has everything you need for an awesome time. Layout is great for everyone to sit around and play games, cook, or just talk by the fire.
