This is the perfect spot for a single person to get away from it all - or a very close couple. That, or it is the perfect spot for a strong hiker or a guest with a 4-wheel drive car.
The characteristic that gives it the charm is that view. It is beyond impressive. Getting up to the cabin is not for the faint of heart.
I stayed 4 nights - perfect for my desire to get away, taste a bit of Menton, and then move on. Peggy, the proprietaire, was responsive and kind and extremely helpful. The first night she picked me up at the bottom of the hill and brought me and my things up in her car.
The night after the Lemon Festival parade, I hiked back up the hill - at 11:00pm. Dark, panting, my phone light was sucked up by the darkness. It wasn't the best idea - but I made it.
The cabin is tiny but comfortable. And, "THE VIEW". I was there at the end of February, so the weather didn't afford a coffee on the tiny deck, but that would be lovely in warmer weather.
The property surrounding the cabin is not a lush manicured property, but Ollie and dog and the kindness of the family are wonderful. I was even gifted some Menton lemons cut from their tree when leaving.
