This was great for a little getaway. The only issue was connecting to the wi-fi but not a huge deal. More reason to disconnect and enjoy the peace and quiet. Property was clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed our two night stay and the hot tub! The ceiling fan just needs to be cleaned. We would come again. Thank you

Thanks for your input. The fan did need to be cleaned and has since been cleaned. We have to bring in a tall ladder to reach it and time just slipped past us. We do not let our normal housekeeper climb the ladder. Thanks for the reminder.

The stay was ok what little time we slept there. Upstairs was closed off for whatever reason that i wasn't made aware of when reservation was made. Seen several spiders inside during our stay. Several silverfish during our stay and ants big enough to pack a suit case off. Location of cabin was great. Hot tub was not very clean on first day of staying. On a scale of 1-10 i would give it a 4 and that would be pushing it. Only reason for reservation was causing there was nothing else available at the time.

First of all the King sleeping loft was not blocked off. There is a storage area in this cabin that is. Second the guest not once complained of any issue until now. I think this is a little much considering the stay was almost 3 weeks ago. Upon arrival I myself cleaned this cabin so I know it was in good shape. Nature does come along with mountain ants but none was visible during cleaning. Also we have a company who does our hot tubs and he is the best around. Sorry our cabin was not up to your standards.

I already told the owner about the issues. It appears the cleaning lady was new. She left mops and brooms and the front door. Door was left unclosed and slightly ajar. The inside wasn't cleaned very well like it was rushed. Refrigerator was not on, the dehumidifier was full and needed to be cleaned. Firepit was left messy and filled with water. However, informing the owner, I hope these things are cleared up for next future customers.
Storyteller's Shack is a cute tiny cabin. Me and my husband needed a quick getaway to reconnect with one another. This cabin was perfect for that! There's no cell service and the WiFi didn't work but that's ok because cell phones are just a distraction we didn't need! The hot tub felt great after a day of hiking. The hot tub area was private and I especially liked the fireplace right by the hot tub. We arrived late on check in day and had problems with the lock code to get the key out of the box. Since it was late we had a hard time getting in touch with the owner but we finally did. Turns out the email I received with the instructions had the wrong lock code listed. But in the end everything turned out good. If we ever stay nearby again we'll definitely look into getting this cabin!
If you have the opportunity to stay here, do it. It is the coziest little place in the mountains, especially in the fall! The drive from Bryson City is not far and so beautiful. The hot tub is amazing. The host is kind and very helpful. 10/10
