We had such a lovely time staying at this home. Our family of six had plenty of room, and the house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. This was our first time visiting this part of New York, and we found the property and surrounding area peaceful and picturesque, with woods, hills for hiking, and beautiful sunsets. The beds were amazing, and I truly slept better than I have in a long time. The internet was also reliable, which allowed me to work from my laptop without any issues. Our host was responsive and quickly answered the one question I had.Overall, I would highly recommend this home. I have only positive things to say about it.
GPS will not lead you directly to the drive. Pay attention to the mailbox address. Owner is very responsive. Tons of linens and towels. Laundry detergent is supplied. Gas BBQ so no need to get charcoal. Outdoor fire pit with provided wood. Extremely private with beautiful long drive way. We saw plenty of wildlife.
Stunning serenity, perfect ambiance, we loved every minute of our stay! Comfy bed - SO comfy. The deer family running through the woods....is this a Diseny movie? Fireplace, stunning dining room area. Highly recommend!
Terrific place. Beautiful landscape. Just enough snow to make the forest look amazing. We were in town to visit family. Beds comfy. Would definitely book again.
Home was even more beautiful in person! We will definitively be back. We had a several inches of snow while there and the owner came and plowed us out 4 times! There are little touches everywhere to make your stay more comfortable - toiletries, items in the kitchen, games and guides etc. Such an inviting home to just relax!
Wonderful stay at this spectacular home. Great rest in the wilderness but still close to lakes and city of cold springs and the hudson river. Lookig forward to a return visit
We had a very nice and relaxing stay. Joe was very communicative about situation that’s going on with the property. The house was spotless, had everything we needed, and our dog had a great time too! We can't wait to come back for our next stay.
Really nice spot. Beautiful views! The place was very clean and quiet. We had our family thanksgiving there and the kitchen was perfect. My only criticism is that 3rd bedroom is not really a full bedroom. It could use a door or something.
it is amazing place ! beautiful and peaceful ...... very secluded everything that you need you could find in the kitchen if you cook for yourself the only suggestion to the owner to change the bed , too soft and you fall in when you lie on it
My family and I loved this property! We enjoyed walking around the woods and exploring. The house was well equipped and was really charming. We also loved sightseeing around the near by towns. Definitely a place to come back to stay again.
This was a great place to stay for our family weekend with our son. Beautiful country setting and included all of the amenities we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer!
If you want privacy with peace and quiet away from people then this is the place. No one will know that your out here other than your hosts.
What makes this property unique
So many unique benefits to this newly renovated old homestead. The home is made from stone and wood harvested from the property over 100 years ago. Doug fir wood flooring, stone fireplace even has an old farm sink from 1920. The mudroom upon entry is inviting with nice overlooking views of the long driveway and a small meadow.. Upon entering the main room you'll notice all the windows face the North ridge. The granite in the kitchen matches the old stone and gives the warm feeling that it too came from the property. The main dining area feels as if your sitting in the forest with it's natural pine interior and wall of windows. Just out the slider door and your on the deck that also faces the hills to the north and with a short walk down some stepping stones your at a fire pit. There are several on property hiking loops that are permitted to be used at certain times of the year dependent upon forest management practices please ask the hosts if they are available. The town of Carmel has several supermarkets and local restaurants. Shopping for any need can be found within a 30 min drive in any direction.
