What a beautiful space! It was very clean and the area quite remote. In the mornings, we saw deer and wild turkey. And so many birds! We didn’t hike any any trails, but there was a great guide available in the home that showed the property lines and gave info about the property! It was great for us and our kiddos.

Did not disappoint!

We saw a bevy of wikdlife. Toads, chipmunks and babies, a wild turkey, woodchuck or beaver, and deer. The views were great and the kitchen was actually quite accommodating. Book it today!

Beautiful little house in the woods

Hoyse is in a beautiful location and was very clean. The host was responsive and helpful. I would give it 5 stars if it actually had 3 bedrooms.

Quiet getaway close to skiing

We had the perfect winter holiday here. The house is well equipped, spacious and close to Thunder Ridge skiing area that we all loved. We appreciated the quiet and peaceful property and the owner responded to our questions very quickly. Good base for visiting nearby towns.

Perfect setting

We were in town for just a few days attending a seminar… cant wait to come back! First thing noticed on arrival, set back on private drive surrounded by woods, totally awesome. Peaceful, clean, all the amenities from home, set in the woods, just a magnificent stay. Thanks for sharing!

The property and house were beautiful, out of the way but beautiful. The fire pit, sunroom, and porch were amazing. It was great for decompressing after a West Point graduation. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven.

We truly felt lost in the woods!

The setting was so tranquil and beautiful. The house is even nicer than the photos – super clean, well-maintained, tastefully decorated and very inviting and comfortable. Just about everything we needed (a couple of very minor things: could have used a larger saute pan and some cooking oil). John was very responsive when there was a (very brief) power failure. Our stay was too brief! We hope to return.

Quiet and beautiful

This was a great, wonderful experience for us. We stayed 6 weeks while our home was renovated. The property is gorgeous. We got there as plants were budding and trees were coming alive. Every day was different. We felt completely safe. The cabin was nicely decorated and very comfortable to stay in. The cabin held all that you needed to be comfortable. The kitchen had all the pots and pans you need to make meals. We were close to town so picking up supplies was easy. We loved our stay. Dont miss this experience.

Overall property was good. Mattresses throughout property need replace. Unaware of bar next door with live music every night that was quite loud. Luckily they usually stopped the live music around midnight. Owner was very accommodating and friendly.

Didn’t arrive till dark. Was a little nervous driving to the house on the narrow dark road. It seemed so far back into the woods wondered if I was in the right direction. When we walked in it was just as it was pictured. Very clean and nicely done. When we arose the next day we saw how beautiful the property was. So peaceful and beautiful views. Enjoyed our stay.

Lost in the Woods

I can’t say enough about our stay. The home was very clean, the bed, pillows and towels were all very nice. The best part is the location. Secluded with beautiful views gave our family just what we needed this week. Great selection of games, the fire pit was wonderful for roasting smores and the animals visiting the front lawn was a treat. Highly recommended if you are looking for peace and tranquility.

Privacy, character, good taste, and convenience

We greatly enjoyed our weekend in splendid isolation within this spacious, tastefully decorated, comfortable and well appointed house. The living room is larger than it appears in the pictures, and there are games, puzzles, and books in good condition. The separately controlled baseboard heat in the bathroom is a nice touch. The kitchen is spacious and well appointed, and there are plenty of outlets throughout the house despite it being originally an older house. John was very responsive to our questions. Overall, we highly recommend. questionsdesphouse

Why they chose this property

If you want privacy with peace and quiet away from people then this is the place. No one will know that your out here other than your hosts.

What makes this property unique

So many unique benefits to this newly renovated old homestead. The home is made from stone and wood harvested from the property over 100 years ago. Doug fir wood flooring, stone fireplace even has an old farm sink from 1920. The mudroom upon entry is inviting with nice overlooking views of the long driveway and a small meadow.. Upon entering the main room you'll notice all the windows face the North ridge. The granite in the kitchen matches the old stone and gives the warm feeling that it too came from the property. The main dining area feels as if your sitting in the forest with it's natural pine interior and wall of windows. Just out the slider door and your on the deck that also faces the hills to the north and with a short walk down some stepping stones your at a fire pit. There are several on property hiking loops that are permitted to be used at certain times of the year dependent upon forest management practices please ask the hosts if they are available. The town of Carmel has several supermarkets and local restaurants. Shopping for any need can be found within a 30 min drive in any direction.
