We are pleased to offer our charming 155m² house for rent during weekends or school holidays. It can accommodate 6 to 12 people and is located a 6-minute walk from the Garches-Marnes-La Coquette train station. The house features spacious living areas and a lovely terrace on the first floor, three bedrooms on the second floor, and a courtyard/garden accessible through a shared artist's studio.
Nestled amidst greenery, with the Parc de Saint-Cloud directly opposite, the village of Garches offers local shops (including an excellent butcher and cheese shop), boutiques, restaurants, a cinema, a library, a swimming pool (open during the warmer months), golf, tennis, horseback riding, and a nearby pond. It's ideal for exploring the region and visiting Paris or Versailles while enjoying a peaceful setting.
The L line provides a 12-minute connection to La Défense and a 24-minute connection to Saint-Lazare, allowing you to easily access the Paris and Île-de-France metro network. The same distance to Versailles for visiting the iconic palace and gardens.
The house offers a very warm and stylish environment (we are both architects and interior designers) spread over three floors:
- a ground floor with a large entrance and access to a lovely courtyard/garden with hammocks and garden furniture (weather permitting), fully accessible during your stay via an independent art studio shared by artists (whom you might even meet while passing by).
- The first floor is the main living area, featuring a living room with a large sofa (which converts into a bed for two, though not the most comfortable), a dining room for eight, a breakfast room for four or five (ideal for children) with a bench (which also converts into two comfortable single beds for two), a fully equipped kitchen, and access to a lovely terrace (please be careful with small children as there is no railing) with yuccas, lavender, oleanders, jasmine, and more, where you can read, play, enjoy an aperitif, lunch, or dinner.
- The second floor comprises three double bedrooms:
Double bedroom 1, "Seagull," overlooks the garden and includes a desk and dressing room (which can also be used as a child's bedroom with a sofa bed) and an en-suite shower room.
There is another, smaller double bedroom, "Japan," facing south, and a third, larger double bedroom (yellow wall) with two workstations, both facing south and enjoying plenty of sunshine.
And a bathroom with a black glass partition, a bathtub, and a separate toilet, all accessible from the stair landing. An extra mattress is available to accommodate two additional people in the yellow bedroom.
The third floor is a self-contained studio apartment that is usually rented on a yearly basis, so you might see our charming tenant in the entrance hall or on the stairs at some point. However, apart from the front door and the stairs, none of the photographed spaces are shared; they are all yours!
If you are arriving by car, you can park for free on the street in front of the house and nearby. And if we are not there when you arrive, we have a key box with a code so you can arrive independently and flexibly.
Our house is ideal for 6 to 8 people (with the 3 bedrooms + pouf + mattress for 2 in the yellow bedroom), but we can easily accommodate 10 people with the sofa bed in the breakfast room and 12 people with the sofa bed in the living room.
