If excessive pet hair is found on furniture or bedding, or if any pet-related damage occurs, an additional pet cleaning fee of up to $200 may apply. Please note that this home is located in a peaceful rural farming community. At certain times of the year, nearby farms fertilize their fields, which may occasionally create noticeable odors outdoors. Thank you again so much for coming and staying with us again! The River is so relaxing while you fight off those pesty bugs on the back screened in porch.
You and your father are always wonderful guests, and we hope to see you again soon!
The property is located in a beautiful setting by the river. It is conveniently located within minutes of any shopping needs. The house is well maintained and provided more than adequate space for our family of 10. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to just get away from all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Come here, chill and relax.

We are so thrilled you and your family were able to enjoy the River and its surroundings while staying at our spacious home with your family! Please come back and visit with us when you are back in the area!
We had such a great stay at this cabin on the Valley River. We mostly hung out at the cabin in the backyard at the fire pit, lounging in the chairs overlooking the river, and the kids enjoyed playing in the well maintained yard. Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge was a great experience and was a short drive away, about 40 minutes. The back porch was so relaxing but there are two other porches that we didn’t even use. There is plenty of space, much more than we needed for our family of 5. The kitchen was well-equipped and the entire cabin was very clean.

Beautiful home that was perfect for our family. Very spacious and open kitchen and living room that was great to cook and hang out in. The screened in back porch was so nice to enjoy our meals with the background sounds of the river. Handicap friendly for my wheelchair bound Dad. The whole yard was beautifully landscaped! We would love to stay here again.
The house was large on a beautiful setting. Very close to Casino/ downtown historic Murphy. Ideal area for dog with gated area. We had one issue but property manager communicated well and was very efficient.

We're delighted that you enjoyed your time here Jason. We hope you'll visit again!
Beautiful home with a beautiful view! Loved the back yard with the river!! We spent most of our time on the big screen porch overlooking the river. Users the fire pit and grill every night! The huge kitchen was perfect. The Hosts were excellent at responding to my questions and inquires. I wished there had been TV’s in the bedrooms, but it’s not a deal breaker. 🙂

So glad you enjoyed your time here! We'd be delighted to have you come back!
We loved this property. It was very clean and well equipped, and the view off the back porch was gorgeous and peaceful. The property owner/manager was responsive when we had a question, and we felt safe during the duration of our stay. We were also only a few minutes away from groceries and restaurants, which was very convenient. The only thing I think this property could use is a few more kitchen supplies like pyrex baking/storage dishes and a large pizza pan, as well as thicker bedding on the guest queen bed (it got pretty chilly). Other than that, we had zero issues and really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend!

Thank you for your feedback Laura! So glad that you had an enjoyable time here! We'd be delighted to host you again in the near future!
the cabin was lovely but hot! The thermostat could not be adjusted and it was hot and humid!!! The water smelled like sulfer and NO ONE wanted to bath in it. It was a unpleasant experience. The booking was easy, the directions were spot on.
The home and location were wonderful. The home is well appointed and spotless. The location was nice but you could hear traffic from the back porch, where the river views are. We stayed for 2 weeks and the first 9 days or so were wonderful. However on Tuesday of our 2nd week, a truck sprayed something on the field across the river. The smell was intolerable, making me nauseous and giving my husband a headache. So we were essentially unable to enjoy the back porch and the river after that. It came around the house on some days, making taking the dog outside in the front yard nearly unbearable. I have no idea how often this happens... was it just a one time misfortune or something routine? The leaves were beautiful and we enjoyed the area and lounging indoors but were disappointed by the loss of the river.
The location to everything in the area was really good, the house was pretty and situated on a beautiful river. I enjoyed sitting outside on the screened in back porch and at my coffee, until several young men decided they needed to fish in the river directly behind the house and they weren’t a part of our party so we didn’t exactly have the uninterrupted quiet morning coffee time I was really looking forward to Saturday am. When we first arrived at the cabin the ac was on and had 5he cabin nice and cooled down and we thoroughly appreciated that! However the kitchen wasn’t exactly fully equipped with everything we needed to cook with. A knife block full of knives was provided, however the knives weren’t sharp, we had to put all of the silverware and the silverware trays in the dishwasher because the trays were so dirty and had a greasy substance on them. Before cooking with any pot, dish, knife or utensil I had to wash it. The dishes had a greasy like substance on them. There was no laundry detergent and only 1 extra trash bag. The beds were comfortable however the bedroom my brother slept in, the pillow cases and sheets had hair on them. They were not clean at all. We had to strip his bed, buy laundry detergent the next day and wash. The washing machine is a front load machine and very nice except there is a lot of mold and mildew in it and it stinks terribly. This place is in need of a really good deep cleaning! The power went out the morning we left and we were not able to take showers. I called the host first thing and she asked that I take a picture of the electric meter so she could get the account number off of the meter to report the power outage and after telling me there was no reported outages in the area. There is no account number in meter and I don’t really appreciate being called a liar and needing to prove that the power is out by sending a picture of the meter not on or turning. Once I sent her the picture she was happy and decided at that point to call it into the power company. When people are having a hard time and trying to get ready for a long trip ahead of the the last thing the6 want is someone adding to their troubles by having to prove they aren’t liars. The house was a perfect location but the lack of cleanliness, lack of supplies and the host ruined it for us. We won’t recommend this cabin or renting with this cabin to anyone.

Hi Amy –
Sorry that you had issues with your stay. We encourage our guests to contact us if there are any issues or concerns during their stay. We wish you had let us know while you were at the house as we could have addressed a number of your concerns.
We have provided a knife sharpener at the house to ensure that knives are ready for guest use. Laundry detergent and trash bags are provided for guest use. Sorry that you were not able to locate the additional supplies.
The river that flows along the back yard is a public waterway so other people have access to it at various locations. We apologize if you had to watch someone fish. The power outage was something that was out of our control and was contained to the town where you were staying. We sincerely understand how frustrating it can be to get ready to travel home without the availability of electricity. We were just asking for your assistance to be able to get you an answer in a timely manner.

Super cute cabin with lots of room to spread out for the family! The cabin has a ton of charm as it is an older home with additions and renovations throughout. HUGE kitchen with a lot of seating between the very large bar and the dining table. The two family rooms were great as it provided a space for the kids separate of the adults if they just wanted to be on their own. Comfortable beds, couches, etc. Back porch is probably one of the best ones we've had at our cabins over the years. It is screened-in which was wonderful. The place is full of birds! We loved watching the robins in a nest at the porch as they raised their babies over the week!! The area is easy to reach and within a few minutes of Murphy and Andrews for shopping, groceries, etc. My only reason for giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the river bank. The pictures show a steep bank covered in rocks with a small area to go down to the river. However, the bank is severely overgrown with weeds more than 6' tall. The overgrowth nearly blocks the view of the river when in the backyard. The pathway down to the river is overgrown and has poison ivy growing all around it. You cannot fish from the bank due to the overgrowth (hooks get caught in everything). If you can make it down the path, there is room for about 2 people to stand, but you are buried in weeds all around you. We would definitely consider staying here again, but would just assume the river is not accessible for anything. Beautiful place!
Amazing home and property. River in back of property was so relaxing just to sit and listen to the water. Peaceful surroundings. Plenty of yard for pets to walk.
Rented this property for family arriving from across the country for my son's wedding. It was exactly what we were hoping for. I only live an hour away but it made all the difference to stay close to the venue. Would use this unit again in a heartbeat!
We had the best time! This was a last minute trip for Spring Break. Our boys love fishing, and this was the perfect spot. The river is directly in the backyard. They didn’t catch anything, but had fun trying. Two guys across the river did catch two. The area is quiet and peaceful. The house was perfectly cleaned! I didn’t have to spend the first hour doing my cleaning routine because it was spotless. Kathy was great at answering all of our questions. There is a Wal-Greens, Ingles, and Walmart just 10 min away. The house is only 15
Min or so from downtown Murphy. We will be back. It was cold and started to snow/sleet, but we still had fun sipping hot cocoa by the wood stove. Thanks for a great break!
