Roaches found in kitchen, hallways, bedrooms and between the sheets in several beds. Mouse droppings found in bedroom. Did not stay a single night and had booked for a week. BEWARE!! Now I know why host was so accommodating.
Alicia was great, made sure the house was decorated for Christmas and everyone raved about the tree! Communication was excellent! Had an issue with the newly installed thermostat in the Great Room, but it was fixed first thing in the morning, less than 24hrs. It wasn’t that cold, and plenty of wood was provided for the fireplace. We might not have used it, but we did and I highly recommend it (just make sure to keep everything back all the way so the smoke goes up the chimney). My one and only complaint was the condition of the propane grills…heat tents were rotted out and my husband opted to purchase a cheap camping grill to cook with instead. We brought it home and will use it, so no big deal only a slight inconvenience. Highly recommend and would book again.
Our family of 18 stayed the week of Thanksgiving. House is spacious with ample seating for all; comfortable beds; great fireplace; landline available. However, we did experience a roach problem. Host responded quickly. Exterminator came on Sunday. Sadly, this did not alleviate the problem. We battled them all week in kitchen and pantry, spraying daily ourselves. The size of our group and being so far from home prevented last minute chance of relocating. Fortunately they had not invaded the rest of the house. We tried to enjoy our family and make the best of it.
I would not recommend staying here. We arrived to the rental to discover the cleaners had never come. The sheets were piled on the floor off the beds, the towels were dirty, and the trash was still sitting there. There is no working wifi or any service within 15 minutes of the stay. The emergency contact for the rental was helpful with getting the cleaners to come the next day, but the wifi issue was never solved and the emergency contact also could no longer respond due to family issues after the first day. We were told to contact the owner with any issues, but the owner has never responded via the app, phone calls, or texts. Their mailbox is also full making it impossible to get in contact with them. I received 1 email only a few hours before checkin with the checkin information only after reaching out to the VRBO support team to deal with the issue. There were roaches running around throughout our entire stay, and they don't mention the chicken houses that are just right outside causing some noise and smells each time you walk outside. I was so hopeful for a good stay at a reasonable price for our trip; however, I cannot express the disappointment I have felt from the lack of communication showed by this host.

Remote Getaway
Honest review.
We expected a remote cabin in the mountains and that is what this is. Old cabin, could use some upgrades.
Listing for bedrooms is not accurate. Although this place can sleep the amount stated, they are just not all "bedrooms".
Wifi worked, but if you had too many devices hooked up at once, it lagged. But, we were not there for the wifi.
Place is located directly next door to a chicken farm, hence the 2 stars for location.
We understand the cabin is in the woods, could use a good once over for bugs.
Grill worked but barely.
Poor water pressure of more than one fixture was on at a time.
I know this review has some negative in this post, but it was a good place to have a family event where privacy is preferred and everyone can stay together. For that we are grateful and the price seemed fair.
We would consider this cabin again if we had another event of this size.
