Our family enjoyed staying at the cabin, it was clean and had all we needed. The sunset view was excellent and there was indoor entertainment for the kids.
This home has an excellent layout for families with young children, especially with the convenient bedding options that allow children to sleep in their parents’ room. With some attention and care, this property has the potential to be a wonderful rental. Unfortunately, our stay revealed several areas that need improvement. The biggest concern was the overall cleanliness. The home needs a thorough deep cleaning, particularly the walk-in showers, where black mold and mildew were growing in the grout. We also found trash, wrappers, and even underwear left behind by previous guests in the master bedroom drawers. There were also several maintenance and functionality issues. We had difficulty locating the TV remotes, and two of them were missing batteries, which we replaced ourselves. The couches did not recline, and the arcade machine’s screen would not turn on, so we were unable to use it. Outdoor patio cushions and pillows need replacing and updated as they were torn and stuffing coming out. When the temperatures cooled the night we arrived, we turned on the hot tub, but it took a full day to reach a usable temperature. Additionally, the king mattresses appear to be worn out and slope inward, making them uncomfortable. The kitchen was stocked with a large assortment of mismatched, miscellaneous items that appeared to have accumulated from previous guests. A more organized and thoughtfully maintained selection of kitchen essentials would greatly improve the experience.
We had a large party from newborns to older adults. There was enough space and bedding for everyone to have a place to sleep and relax. Loved the large kitchen and outdoor space.
Exceeded expectations, very clean and well kept. Owners are just terrific and we’re very helpful. We will be coming back at least once a year. Would recommend to anyone. The back porch was my favorite part of the entire cabin.
The house is great, and there’s awesome hiking all up and down Aska Road. The house is right on Aska road, so while it’s super convenient to get to and close to all of the good hiking trails, it does have a little bit of road noise when you’re hanging on the back porch. It wasn’t enough to bother most of us, but the grandpa of our group commented on it (and we perhaps saw a little less wildlife because of it). There are a TON of beds in this house, which is great for large groups, but most of the bunk beds are in the same room as the kings (without walls or nooks of separation). It worked for our party, but if any kids are light sleepers, it’s something to be aware of. The home was clean, had plenty of linens, the balcony was large with a fireplace & TV and it was really nice to have an extra mini fridge in the basement area. Overall, a great home & nice place to land after a nearby hike. Thanks to Elizabeth & Seko for hosting our fam for Thanksgiving!
My family and I spent the weekend here and it was amazing! One of the owners, Elizabeth, reached out during our stay to say hello and see how everything was going. I really appreciate her friendliness and concern about our stay. In addition, this cabin has beautiful views from the top and bottom deck. Lastly, the decor and cleanliness of this home gets 5 stars alone!. We definitely look forward to returning and encourage others to try out this cabin. I can’t wait until our next visit!!!!
