Sunnyside Up

The house was super cute & comfortable. Just enough space with all the essentials for the week. The deck was a favorite. The outside shower and separate garden hose area was great to quickly rinse the sand off from the beach. Beautiful views of sunset and easy, quick access to the beach. A wonderful place for family.

Our visit to Sunnyside Up was wonderful! The house was perfect for our family. House was super clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pergola was our favorite spot! Just a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood was great for our early morning dog walks. Would recommend!

This property is at a great location. Expected a cleaner house upon arrival but after contacting the property manager about it, she scheduled someone to come out to clean at a time that worked for my family. Overall, a good place to stay.

MY FAVE

My third time staying here in the last 10 yrs. In our opinion you can’t beat the value of staying here for what you get. The location, the amenities, the property and owners are all top notch, and for the price; you get the most bang out of your buck. Will stay here again if the lord is willing and the ocean don’t rise!

Great location!

Fantastic host, we were extremely pleased with how quickly and thoroughly Bridgitte handled even our least concerns! House was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well supplied, and I loved the extra pillows tucked away in the closet. The pergola was our favorite seating area to relax and watch the dolphins, ships, beach-goers and sunsets! Will definitely recommend to friends and family who want to be away from the crowds.

Perfect house!

My husband and I came to Fort Morgan to celebrate our anniversary. This house was perfect for us and our little dog but would be great for a family too. It was one of the cleanest houses we’ve stayed in. Updated, decorated beautifully and had all the little extras most houses don’t supply. The access to the beach was very close. Bridgitte was very quick to respond to every question and easy to work with. Highly recommend!!

Great location and beautiful views of the ocean.

We had a wonderful time at your Lighthouse home. The 4 of us and our 2 small dogs had plenty of room. The beds were comfy and the living room was cozy. The only complaints I have would be no storage space for food and the deck had lots of bird poo on it. But we looked passed that and had a wonderful time. Thank you for the complimentary wine. It was great to have. We would definitely come back to your home again.

Birthday Celebration and vacation

Such a good experience with Sunnyside Up! Our family had such a good week! From start to finish communication was top notch. Sunnyside Up was such a special home and we appreciate Zach and Ashley for sharing with us. We were looking for a place that we could take our pup and the outdoor shower for pup washes and for us was perfect. The outdoor porch swing and outdoor living spaces made all so much more enjoyable. We would love to come back.

Charming house & great location

The porch swing and gazebo were really relaxing. The house is located across the street from the beach. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is it. I stayed at this property by myself with my dogs.The house met my needs perfectly. The surrounding neighbors were friendly. I felt safe staying here. The owners had a welcome card and a bottle of wine there when I arrived which I thought was a very nice touch. The house has a beach motif and a cute kitchen. I really thought the decorative pillows were cute. Also, they have Direct tv so I was thrilled I got to watch my football games and shows at night.The owners are very quick to respond to messages. My gps took me to a completely different location in Gulf Shores. Follow the directions the owners provide instead of gps to get to this location. I would definitely stay here again. Loved it!!!

Perfect Beach Vacation!

LOVED being on this end of the island! So quiet! Away from the traffic, but all of the beauty of the beach. Next time will plan accordingly as not to need to head to the grocery store for supplies so often. The Light House is a beautiful gem!! We had everything we needed for a week at the beach! The swing and chairs on the deck were great for morning coffee. The beach is a short walk across the street and down the path. Loved watching the pelicans dive and fish, we saw dolphins off shore and the sunsets were amazing! The kitchen is well supplied for almost anything you would want to cook. There were tons of beach towels for use. We made use of many of the games available. Puzzles and books for your relaxing time! They have though of everything! Jeanne was very attentive the couple of times I messaged her before and during the trip. We sent her a message re a few items in the house. She responded almost IMMEDIATELY! The grill handle was broken, we let her know--she had the maintenance person bring a new grill by the end of the day! Thank you for the use of your beach home! Great location! Wonderful amenities! And dog friendly if you choose to bring your fur-baby.

Perfect beach house

Our dogs loved sitting under the gazebo as did we. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and loved the kitchen. Two small suggestions. The kitchen cupboard doors and drawer faces need a good cleaning as well under the sink. Didn’t know what to do with 5 remotes in LR. Still, 5*.

Wonderful!

The views from this house are wonderful! It makes being back at the house still feel like you’re at the beach. We loved the covered seating on the deck. The accessories under the house were lots of fun including hammocks, a swing, and picnic area. The house was clean with all the necessary amenities. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The house and location were perfect for the two of us and our two small dogs. The deck was a comfortable place to relax with nice views of the water. The beach was easy to access just across the street. The house was clean, updated and pleasantly decorated. We loved the quiet location. We would love to come back!

DO NOT Trust this Host

Wow, where to even start? I am not someone who enjoys writing negative reviews, but we had an absolutely terrible experience with this host. The house is absolutely adorable, and attractively advertised, but beware if anything goes wrong. Bridgitte and Craig will not be available to help you, except with lipservice. We arrived to the house on a Thursday evening to find that the AC was intermittently working. We immediately let them know and were told it would be taken care of asap. The host then waited until 11am on a Friday (the next day) to contact anyone to service the unit. We were then told that we would need to wait until Monday for someone to come out and look at it. On Saturday night, the AC stopped working entirely. This is Alabama in September, folks. It is HOT. The host simply told us she had done all that was expected of her and there was nothing more she could do. When we tried to contact the host via phone, we were repeatedly ignored, even after leaving multiple voicemails asking for a call back. We had to resort to contacting VRBO representatives, who then contacted the host themselves. Sunday morning, after leaving the house to escape the heat and heading to Orange Beach (30 min away), we were told, with no warning, that a handyman was at the door waiting for us to let him in and that he had a window unit with him. We left what we were doing to return to the house. He DID NOT have a window unit with him. He attempted to fix the HVAC unit, unsuccessfully, and then asked us to sit and wait there for him to go and retrieve the window unit. We sat for 2 HOURS in the hot house for him to return. By this time, we had enough of dealing with this instead of enjoying our vacation and decided to leave the house for another one close by. We were told by a VRBO representative that the host had agreed to give us a full refund for our trip. Turns out that was a lie and we are STILL waiting on a refund or any meaningful communication at all from the hosts. They do not answer phone calls or VRBO messages at this point. We feel absolutely scammed and robbed. I am incredibly confused by all of the 5 star reviews specifically mentioning the helpfulness and hospitality of the hosts. I would recommend you read these with a high level of skepticism.
