We appreciated this was pet-friendly, but were so disappointed to find it was not an entire home, as described. It turned out to be a small basement apartment with lots of weird issues. There was no way to lock our area off from the main house, which shared a laundry room. The electrical outlets made me very uncomfortable - tons of extension cords and outlet adapters seemed unsafe. There was an odor that smelled almost like smoke - acrid, maybe like dust on coils, even though the heat was never on. The smell went away on the second day. The water had a foul taste and smell. It seemed unclean - but I believe that is the water in the area. We could never get the TV to work. I did not follow up with the host on this. I was pretty upset with the conditions. One positive - the bed was comfortable. Also, even though it was very full of interesting knickknacks, it was mostly clean (shower curtain an exception). We ended up not staying the second night because we were so uncomfortable. The advertisement shows the main house, but the entrance to the apartment is on the rear. It is definitely not a "cottage."
Thanks for the accommodation it was a place away from home that I felt comfortable. The young lady that assisted with the entry into the property was of great assistance and the madame next-door allowed her parking space since she was gone for the weekend. I WILL attempt to book next time I am in town once again thanks for your hospitality. EJ Murphy Jr/33
This is advertised as a cottage or bungalow which implies a separate building, but it is the basement of someone’s home. There is no way to completely lock your portion of the downstairs off from the owner.
The bungalow was adorable and the garden and property very well maintained. Much better than a hotel! The bed and other furniture was comfortable and inviting. Perfectly located for university facility access. Easy parking. Also easy access to the city. There might have been a dog or cat in the past that lived there as some of my clothes had a good amount of animal hair on it and my allergies started acting up but I would be back regardless due to all the other pros. Really want to sit in the garden with a tea or coffee!!!
