About this property
Charming Historic 1850 Cottage | Centrally Located
Summary:
Experience the best of Savannah’s southern charm in this cozy, quaint cottage. Conveniently tucked behind Charlton St., this old-world home provides its guests with a quiet and relaxing stay. Built in 1850, its picturesque design captures your attention from the moment you step through the front door. An elegant, spiral staircase sits peacefully in the middle of the main floor, connecting all three levels. You don't want to miss out on one of the cutest cottages in all of Savannah!
SVR-02415
The Space:
Despite its old-fashioned appeal, the cottage hosts a modern kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances and a sturdy, granite countertop. You’ll find everything you need to enjoy a home cooked meal, including a full set of kitchen knives, coffee maker, toaster and blender. Step out onto the courtyard for a relaxing evening under the stars after dinner. The patio area is surrounded by plant life and plentiful citrus trees. It also has a spacious patio table that seats 4, allowing you to enjoy the green oasis with loved ones. You’re guaranteed a good night’s rest in the main bedroom, decorated with a stonewall fireplace (non-working) and plenty of antiques. Step out onto the connected balcony in the morning for a cup of coffee or cocktail at night!
Guest Access:
Everything is yours! Aside from the rear patio on the ground floor, you can access the balcony off of the "master bedroom." We have a large smart TV downstairs and another in the first bedroom and GREAT WiFi! Again, all the rooms are connected via the spiral staircase, so please be careful going up and down especially on the top floor (watch your head!). There is no "real privacy" between the rooms because of this, so make sure you're bringing people you actually like! :)
The Neighborhood:
Located in the South Historic District, this warm, restful cottage allows its guests to enjoy greenery without sacrificing accessibility to downtown. Just north of Savannah’s expansive, 30-acre Forsyth Park, there’s plenty of green area for you to enjoy! Lafayette and Troup Square are also nearby, providing you with even more greenery to explore. With a walkability score of 93, this pleasant neighborhood is more than easy to get around. Enjoy Savannah’s serenity and warmth in this peaceful property.
Not even one block from the famous Clary's Cafe (in Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil!), a few blocks from Fox & Fig (best all-vegan restaurant in town!), and so many more amazing local spots!
Getting Around:
There is a FREE shuttle that picks up just one block down Jones at the corner of Whitaker/Jones. This will take you up and down the Historic District and can drop you off at City Market. Otherwise we recommend using Uber/Lyft as parking around town can be pretty chaotic and is usually less than $5 to get anywhere.
Other Things to Note:
This space is essentially a 2 bedroom, but the spiral staircase cuts through all floors, so there's no doors It's great for a family or 2 couples that are open to a sharing space together. The bathroom is in the main bedroom on the second floor.
Interaction with Guests:
We are available to guests via mobile Monday-Friday 9am-9pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-8pm. We don't live far so if you should need anything or have any issues, just let us know.
If you have any emergencies call 911.

We had a great stay in this adorable property - amazing location! An oasis of calm in the middle of downtown - walkable to everything historic Savannah has to offer :)
The cottage was adorable and in the perfect location. The ease of the check-in and check-out was fantastic. The whole stay was wonderful! Courtyard is fabulous.
This property was everything we needed for a romantic weekend to celebrate our elopement. It's beautifully decorated, and the courtyard is lovely for coffee in the morning and glows at night thanks to the cafe lights! Walkable to most things and we never had trouble finding parking close by even on a busy weekend. We will absolutely be back!
Property was charming and clean, and in a great spot. Only disappointment was that that property manager was not responsive with request to fix broken lighting after promising to address it.
Quaint and romantic in the heart of the Historic District
Spent the weekend in this property. Even though there was a huge marathon occurring all around the property, the stay was perfect and the communication about the roads etc was beyond expectations. The rental is well appointed, had everything we needed and was right in the middle of everything we wanted to see. Be aware of the specifics regarding access and privacy between rooms, but for us it was perfect. Highly recommend!
Booked not realizing it was located on one of the most famous streets in Savannah. E Jones Street is absolutely beautiful and so worth strolling down. The unit was very clean and had all amenities you would need. Follow the directions they provide you on how to get to the unit. Could be a bit difficult. We found parking spot on E Jones which ended up perfect. Since the location is within walking distance to many restaurants and sites, we never moved our car. Communication from the property managers was immediate. We most certainly will book again.

This is the perfect spot for a quiet getaway while still in the historic section of Savannah. Because the entrance is essentially on a back street or alley, it is peaceful all the time, but you can walk to the riverfront, to Broughton Street, to the squares and at least one cemetery and even Forsyth Park! A secluded patio and tiny balcony are sweet extras, and the house has everything you'll need for your stay. The upstairs bedroom does have a low ceiling on the sides, but the bed is comfortable and an extra fan keeps cool air circulating. We parked the car on arrival and didn't need to move it again til we left. Hosts are very responsive and we are excited to return in winter when we can enjoy working fireplaces! A hidden gem in Savannah, for sure!
We stayed 5 nights on our 4th visit to Savannah in as many years. This was probably our favorite accommodations. The location is perfect, we always stay in/around Jones St. This particular cottage was exceptionally well-appointed, clean, charming, and exactly as pictured/described. Bed was very comfortable but at 5'3" I almost needed a step stool to get in (if needed there was one in kitchen). Neighborhood was far enough from street noise so no issues sleeping. And the owners were extremely responsive, within minutes, which is extremely reassuring in the event anything was really needed. At the end, i cannot say enough good things about this rental, would definitely recommend AND return! Thank you so much for another memorable stay in one of the prettiest cities!!
Incredibly charming, comfortable, and conveniently located spot. It has everything you need for maximum relaxation and access to the best of Savannah. Cannot recommend enough, 10/10!
