About this property

Lake Blue Ridge cabin on lake, creek/hot tub, Creekside Storie. Hot Tub, Cohutta Forest, Hiking, Bik

Special Spring discount. No cleaning fee if staying 3 nights or more!
Lakeside Storie is located in the heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest. We are on a private lakefront cove of Lake Blue Ridge with a year round creek flowing the entire northern property boundary (300'). Minutes to the ASKA adventure area and all the activities Blue Ridge, GA has to offer. Soak in the Hot Springs hot tub next to the creek and let your stress melt away or during the summer take a swim or kayak in the lake. This unique property sits just above full pool lake level so there are NO Stairs to lake. Amazing EASY ACCESS in the summer!
Inside the cabin on the main level, there is a beautiful dining room that seats 6 ppl as well as two seats available at the kitchen island. A lovely sitting area which is the perfect spot for two people to enjoy their morning cup of coffee is located just off the dining area. A full kitchen very well stocked with items including high end cook wear, dual coffee pot with both 12 cup coffee maker and Keurig single cup, dishwasher, crock pot, toaster, blender and griddle also provided. The living room has a gas fireplace (pilot stays on during the winter) which is operated by the touch of a button on remote. There is a 42” flat screen in living room with roku internet tv only (please set up and use guest account with your favorite streaming service). There is a large bathroom with tub and shower as well as full size front loader washer and dryer on the main level. Down the hall you will find the master bedroom with brand new king size bed, attached office area where a small printer/ copy/ scanner is supplied for anyone needing to get some work done while traveling. A 32” flat screen tv is also in this bedroom (roku internet only). Open the door in the cooler nights and let the sound of the waterfall right outside the window lull you to sleep.
Upstairs there is a beautiful loft area with two full size beds and a small balcony with gorgeous views of the lake and national Forrest. There is a jack and jill bathroom with huge walk in shower and vanity leading to the upstairs bedroom which has two brand new queen size beds (a pak’n’play is also available in this room if needed).

The town of Blue Ridge is just a short drive away (16 miles) and has many restaurants, bars and shops. Towns like Dahlonega, Ellijay, Blairsville, Chattanooga and Helen make for great day trips. There's something for everyone in this area: apple orchards, wineries, breweries, fishing, hiking, waterfalls and of course the famous Blue Ridge Train just right out your back door.
If your wanting to just relax and unwind at the cabin, the back deck has a brand new Hot Springs 6 person spa with waterfall and lighting as well as a beautiful gas fire pit with lots of seating and large retractable umbrella and brand new stainless steel (hard piped to propane) gas grill. Outdoor wood fire pit is available for making s’mores and memories. Shower under the stars in the outdoor shower just off the main deck(water turned off in colder months). Also be sure to enjoy the front deck seating area just off the master bedroom, perfect spot for some social media pictures and our "secret" garden area with two person hammock and swing that the kids will love!
Running the entire length of the property is a year round creek. Small waterfalls throughout create fun and relaxing areas to explore and the most restful night of sleep listening to the babble of the creek all night!
A private gate leads you to the cabin and a large gravel driveway gives plenty of room to park.
Most cars or trucks will work year round, however from time to the time (very rare events) snow or ice can accumulate on the roads leading up to the cabin. Please check the weather conditions before arrival and if you have any concerns please let us know.
!!!!IMPORTANT SUMMER LAKE INFO!!!!!
*Please note: Lake levels at Lake Blue Ridge are managed by the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority). Like all TVA- managed lakes, lake levels are slowly dropped starting in August to prepare for the winter flood season. The lake is typically at its lowest levels between October through February and then slowly raised over the course of the Spring until the lake reaches its full pool usually in May. Please note we have no control over the lake levels and fully disclose this information so guests know before booking. The lake is still accessible during low months by hiking down the creek. All boat docking at Lakeside Storie is at the Seawall. There are no floating docks provided on property. (photo of floating dock in photos are of neighbors dock). Depth at seawall at full pool is about 4' deep. Typical full Pool timeframe runs from end of April thru beginning of September. Please check TVA website for specific levels. We do not rent boats.
No boats or personal water crafts permitted at dock unless prior authorization has been given. It is necessary to drop boat and trailer at boat ramp before coming to cabin. There is no trailer storage available at the cabin as it can be hard to navigate trailers because of sharp turns on entry. Lake blue ridge marina is a great place and can usually accommodate. There are also a few storage lots that will do short term rentals. Please check with them on details on storing trailer while visiting Lakeside Storie.

Please note: This cabin is located in the National Forrest, therefore there is wildlife in the area frequently including but not limited to bears, deer, turkey, coyotes, snakes (including poisonous), spiders and bugs. We have the cabin professionally treated for bugs however, the cabin is in a National Forrest and therefore some insects are inevitable and out of our control. No food, garbage or food related items can be left outside at all and the doors and windows must be shut when no one is home. Also, the decks and patios are cleaned (blown) after each guest, however there are MANY leaves that fall all year long (especially in the fall). You may arrive and there are leaves and debris on the decks and furniture, which is one of the joys of living in the National Forest. :)

Beautiful lakeside escape
Came to Lakeside Storie for weekend getaway with friends. Beautiful and clean. House is well stocked. Beds are comfy. Amazing hot tub and views. Got to meet very friendly neighbors and their friendly dog- who came by for a few pets. We really enjoyed the outdoor gas fire pit. The area is beautiful for walks.

peaceful place to recharge & relax
We loved everything about our stay here. Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. It was so peaceful and relaxing - we could have easily stayed indefinitely. Comfy furniture, comfy beds, did I mention how peaceful it was? I do recommend you bring a step stool if you're short waisted/legged like me - i couldn't get into the high master bed haha. No problem though, we just slept upstairs but next time we'll bring a step stool. And there will definitely be a next time. We've already requested to book this house for our anniversary next year too!
