Lemon Drop is a two-bedroom charming carriage house that feels like a beach vacation hideaway! (Lemon Drop is the lock-off cottage from the main home Mellow Yellow.) Located on the corner of peaceful Savannah Street, this home is tucked away amongst beautiful greenery and several Seaside, FL footpaths.

Entry can be found on the right side of the main home. Enter into the front door and onto the first floor to find two bedrooms, one queen and one with two twin beds), and a shared full bath with a shower. Both rooms feature whimsical artwork, are spacious, and have plenty of storage.

Guests can travel upstairs onto the second story, featuring a generous apartment area, accompanied by another full bathroom and a kitchen. The kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and four burner stove top oven. There is an adjacent dining table that seats four on this level. Off the second level is a majestic, open-air, private porch with Adirondack seating and a bench swing overlooking tree-top views. This area serves as the perfect spot for morning coffee or to enjoy and take in the sights and sounds of Seaside, FL, and the gulf breeze.

“Lemon Drop” is the answer if you are looking for a fabulous beach getaway. Need more room? The main home Mellow Yellow can be rented, as well! Book this dreamy beach bungalow today.

(Entry for this carriage house can be found behind the main home, Mellow Yellow. The lockbox containing the key can be found on a beam next to the golf cart parking.)

Great place, close to the town square.

Enjoyed staying here very much. Management company was very nice and courteous, and was always available to answer any questions. The place is a little bit small, but it was plenty of room for my wife and me and our 18 year old daughter. It's quite quaint and cozy, and we will probably stay there again.

The food trucks were amazing and we also enjoyed The Perfect Pig in watercolor. A very nice Publix is close by. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us.

Nice but needs an update

The kitchen appliances, cabinets and counter tops could be updated. The showers had great water pressure. The lockbox could be conveniently located closer to the door. The living room furniture could be replaced to be more comfortable. It would be nice to have a larger tv in the living room and also have tvs in the bedrooms. We had a very nice stay but I would recommend a little updating of the property.

We especially enjoyed our time on the balcony deck where we had many meals. Easy two-block walk to town-center and the beach. The only two negatives were some small bugs in the Kitchen and the TV was small and poor quality. It was the perfect size for the two of us.

Needs Maintenace

Though we had a great time in Seaside, I was disappointed in the lack of maintenance on this property. There was mold on the verandah and the floor in the twin bedroom was buckled. Both could be dangerous. I hope you will add a key pad, or offer more than one key for a family of four.

It’s an easy walk to the middle of Seaside, pools, and fitness center. The only disappointment was the kitchen supplies. It was lacking basics such as a knife for chopping, baking pan, etc. Homeowners Collection was helpful with providing a few of these things on request. These are basic items that need to be there as many people cook when at the beach. Regardless, would stay here again.

Cozy stay in paradise

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of three (one teenager) stayed at the Lemon Drop for five nights. It is a small unit attached to a much larger house, however we enjoyed complete privacy. The unit is small but cozy, and provided for our basic needs for cooking and relaxing. The upstairs balcony was a really nice place to be. The location absolutely cannot be beat, and is right near anything you want to do or eat or shop for, and a two minute walk to the beach. The pool and gym are a one minute walk away. The TV was teeny and there are no cozy blankets for beds on chillier nights, so bring your own if you need them. Otherwise, no complaints! The management was great, but we didn’t have any maintenance issues during our stay.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We always love going to seaside. We had a nice visit and stay at Lemon Drop but it does need some updates. The AC units are not secured in the windows (bugs get in). The dishwasher was falling out but service folks came right away so that was good. The garbage cans is the first thing you see when you arrive. Another problem is that there’s a house under construction next door and the workers made a lot of noise. At night, the flapping tarps, tyvec, and metal kept us up unfortunately. The AC window units and house under construction are not in the pictures of course. Seaside is really expensive so it does seem that we can have high expectations that things work as they should etc.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Roaches are still everywhere.... Even after other reviews mentioned issues with bugs. We tried making coffee only to have 40 baby roaches crawl out of the pot onto my wife’s hand. At night going to bathroom..... roaches scurrying. They got in our food as well. Where my son slept in sofa...roaches. First thing my wife saw waking up...a roach on the wall eye level. We found dead ones in the fridge which is where we thought would be the one safe place. The office offered a $145 refund which was so insulting. Also, the place is only average with no roaches, but definitely a house to avoid.

The layout was not at all what we expected. The porch was not at all the same as in these pictures. It’s very deceiving, the cottage is small and cramped. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. Not worth the price at all. We had to use a side , back door to enter the cottage. We arrived late and no one has explained anything to us. The address states 94 Savannah. Well, the true address for this cortaríaBehind mellow yellow and it was virtually impossible to find in the dark. It took us 50 minutes to find. There was no keypad on door , like the instructions read. The keypad was a pole. It was total chaos at that time. Thank God a neighbor helped us after trying toFind the place for 50 minutes. The numbers we had toCall was closed. It was really disappointing. This was notA good cottage to rent for a family of 4. Never again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of three stayed at the Lemon Drop for a week and enjoyed our time in Seaside. Pros: The house is small but it was a good size for three people and is generally well-kept (some dings and wear and tear as expected in a rental house) and it was clean upon our arrival. It is in a good location in regards to the beach, the fitness center, adult pool, and walking to town center. We took advantage of the complimentary bicycle rentals (added a third bike for a very low cost) and enjoyed riding the cruiser bicycles all week. We had plenty of paper goods for the kitchen and bathrooms, toiletries, and cleaning items in the kitchen provided for the week. There was plenty of communication prior to our stay as well as during the stay. We arrived after working hours so didn't receive a "tour" of the property (probably not necessary) but when I did have to reach out during our stay for a small question, I received a response quickly. Internet worked fine throughout the stay and television was good.Could improve: It would have been nice to have been able to opt out of the swim and fitness fees as we didn't use either (maybe we could and I missed it?). A keypad for the front door would be nice rather than the one key we received that I was convinced we'd lose all week. There were no shelves/drawers in the twin bedroom to use to unpack. The foot wash on the outdoor shower worked but the shower itself did not.
