My family welcomes you to Blue Spruce Vista, our dream come true in Grand Lake! Nestled on Woodpecker Hill, just above the Town, this amazing true Log Chalet provides comfortable living and sleeping spaces for up to 9 people. The vaulted ceilings, stone fireplace, and open floor plan on the main level is designed for spending time together. The 3 private bedrooms and additional loft ensures everyone has their private space. Through the 2 sliding glass doors or the abundant windows, you are enchanted by the Panoramic views of Mount Baldy in Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, and the magnificent Shadow Mountain Lake. Step out onto the wraparound deck where there is plenty of room to take in the view, hang out and have a drink, or cook up some s’mores in the wood fired chiminea. Winter or Summer, the scenery while grilling on the propane BBQ grill can not be duplicated.
Fantastic cooking in the brand new Thermal micro/oven. Our well-stocked kitchen offers cooking and baking items galore, a dining table with seating for 8 and table settings for all. If you need to pull together a dinner or forgot that one thing, the Mountain Market is just down the hill. A quick walk or snowmobile ride into town, the house offers the ideal location that allows you the serenity of the mountains with the conveniences of the Village, and the Lake close by. We are pet friendly and would love to host up to 2 dogs (additional pet fee applies). High speed internet through Xfinity X1, Roku HDTV’s, boardgames and puzzles and a DVD player are included. You may just catch an Elk, Moose or Fox grubbing in the yard. Plan your next Grand County adventure at Blue Spruce Vista and enjoy the activities of Grand Lake as well as all the amenities and comfort of our home.

Winter Driving:
Please be prepared before beginning your drive to Grand Lake! Four wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Keep in mind that in Colorado, chain laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. It is not advisable to drive Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Although our street and the main roads are well maintained, it is required to go up a steep, dirt road to the house and can require 4 wheel drive. Weather and driving conditions can change rapidly in the mountains. We cannot accommodate weather-related refunds, please plan accordingly.

Beautiful views - misleading listing
I mostly wanted to discuss the mention of a hot tub at this property -- there is NOT a hot tub and I think the host was intentionally misleading about that. We scoured the reviews before we stayed as we didn't see pictures of the hot tub, but the listing says that there is one. After we arrived, we asked the host and they responded quickly and said they were referring to the Jacuzzi tub in the main bathroom. Considering this was the only filter we used to stay at this house while searching listings, I would imagine others would do the same in their search. Since my friends and I did not intend to sit around in a bathtub together on our weekend away, we were pretty let down by this. Most of the home is pretty dated, which is interesting because the host is now trying to claim damages. We had a good time, the views were beautiful, town is lovely, but we would have stayed elsewhere had I known these facts. Unfortunately, this house seems to be a money grab by the owners at every turn, and I would advise you stay away.

A wonderful getaway!
We had a wonderful time at this VRBO! The kitchen was fully stocked by far more than most, the beds were so comfortable, and the amount of games was also a great touch! Close enough to town but sits back in the trees so there is an amazing unblocked view of Grand Lake! We had an issue and the host was so wonderful helping accommodate to make everything work out. She is super responsive and helpful, treated us like we had known her for years how kind and hospitable she is. We would definitely go back! Thank you!!

Grand Lake over the Holidays
What a spectacular view of the snow capped mountains from the couch that allowed me to curl up with the dog and read books and bring in the New Year all the while watching the incredible fireworks display over the lake. Cabin has all that you need and is well furnished and extremely comfortable and convenient to be both "away" from town but just a quick mile and you are downtown!

Hi, I am Jaci. My family and I are excited to share are favorite place in Colorado with you. We are hard working and want to make your Grand County experience the best it can be throughout your stay at Blue Spruce. In my younger years I always wanted to have a place in the mountains and share it with others. My dream has come true.

Why they chose this property

It took only one glance at the view from this house to be fully enchanted. It's a magical place. It's cozy and comfortable, and every day I spend there I fall further in love.

What makes this property unique

Of all the homes in Grand Lake, this one is special. A real log home with just the perfect balance of privacy and proximity to the conveniences in Town. Rocky Mountain National Forest is just around the corner and Shadow Mountain Lake is in the backyard.
The house is so comfy but has all the modern conveniences we are used to.
