Year round lake home - steps from the water

This recently renovated, fully furnished lake home is just steps from the shore of Lake Melissa. Bright & airy, welcoming & comfortable, it includes everything you need for a fabulous getaway - level lake lot, private dock, lake toys, canoe, peddle boat, kayaks, lakeside patio with soft seating & dining areas, gas grill & fire pit, Wifi, 46" smart TV, SONOS sound system + loads of games & books. For your safety and privacy we have live view outdoor cameras only. And we're only 1 mile from the public access boat boat landing!

Whether you are looking for a family vacation, a nature getaway or a pampered rest, this is the perfect place!

A few house rules to make your stay relaxing & happy!
- Absolutely no smoking nor vaping. Fee will be assessed for noncompliance. - Large dogs allowed. No more than 2 per stay and breed to be pre-approved by owner. Nonrefundable pet cleaning FEE of $100 required. Small dogs considered with conditions - please inquire. NO cats.
- PLEASE keep pets off furniture, thank you!
- Cleaning of fish allowed only with renters' own utensils & materials. Filets MUST be wrapped in sealable plastic for storage in fridge/freezer. Remains MUST be disposed of properly and offsite. Fee will be assessed for noncompliance.
- We are on a septic system so please flush ONLY toilet paper & natural waste in the toilet. There are several wastebaskets around the house: the toilet is not one of them! Fee may be assessed for noncompliance resulting in damage.
- Please properly dispose of - or take with you - all your trash that does not fit in outdoor trash bin. Fee will be assessed for excessive trash that does not fit in outdoor receptacle
- No overnight docking WITHOUT sea legs whatsoever. Fee will be assessed for any damage to dock (NOTE: We are 1 mile from public access boat landing on Lois Ln).
- Please respect our lovely neighbors who are also enjoying the lake :)
- Please inquire as to fees for extra guests, over 8.
- Please inquire as to fees for group events, commercial photography or filming.
- Complimentary use of kayaks, canoe & pedal boat included with rental. (Replacement cost of canoe is $2,000-$3,500, replacement cost of pedal boat is $1,000, replacement cost of kayaks is $200 each & paddles $100 each.).

Melissa Vacation Stay

Annual tradition

We were able to enjoy the beautiful cabin for a week! My sister, her family and I enjoyed this trip for a second year in a row! On the way home my sister said her girls asked if we are going again next year!! The space is absolutely picturesque! Holly has been so available and easy to work with! We definitely hope to go back again next year!! Thank you, Holly, for making this space available for us to create so many incredible and unforgettable memories!

Why they chose this property

The home's open floor plan showcases natural light and 180º lake views! With the new remodel the kitchen features all stainless appliances - the bathroom, a clawfoot bathtub - and the sunroom, a bar and cozy lounging area. We are located on the South East side of Lake Melissa so receive generous sunshine and gorgeous sunset views!
Lake Melissa is 1850 acres of crystal clear waters with great fishing - specializing in walleye, northern, and panfish - and is perfect for both motorized watercraft (boats & jet skis) as well as non-motorized (peddle boats, stand up paddle boards & kayaks). We are on a beach road yet just off of a county road making for a quiet area that is still quite easily accessible. While the area and lake are exciting and fun, the lake house property and neighbors are quiet and peaceful. It's the best of both worlds!
The lake home is located in the vibrant Detroit Lakes area; which features boutique shopping and upscale or casual dining & bars. Like the outdoors? Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, both Itasca & Maplewood State Parks and Dunton Locks County Park are within a short drive. WE Fest Country Music Festival, Pine to Palm and Lakeview golf courses, Seven Sisters Spirits and Hotel Shoreham Bistro, Bar & Pizzeria are just down the road.

What makes this property unique

SUSTAINABILITY & ECO-FRIENDLY. At Ravenswood, we work hard to be sustainable and eco-friendly. Here are a few examples: We use LED light bulbs where and when possible. Our appliances are energy efficient and/or energy star certified. We feature a dual flush toilet. During our renovation we used a number of non toxic products including (but not limited to) low or no-VOC paint, nontoxic sealers on our floors, eco friendly grout, non toxic sealers on our wood floors and walls, etc. Our cleaning products for our home and laundry are eco-friendly as are the products our cleaning service uses. We practice Reduce Reuse Recycle. We compost and are happy to help you do so during your stay too - just ask!
