Had a great experience, we used the outdoor firepit since the indoor fireplace was not operational. Nice space for a family to have Christmas all together.Host was receptive from the start of our stay.
A week of memories! My family & our dogs spent a week here and we were spoiled with this location. Excellent lake quality, the sandbar by boat was a daytime favorite. Then coming home to a large outdoor entertainment area to spend time playing games and having dinner was the cherry on top. Lots of cupboard space & awesome kitchen stocked with great pots, bowls, utensils, etc. Pelican is known for their zebra muscles, so water shoes are a must if you’re looking for a quick dip at the end of the dock! What a great stay. We will be back!
Our group enjoyed the house and the surrounding area so much! The kitchen is fun to cook in, the patio and dock provide wonderful views! The house is beautiful and comfortable, we enjoyed it!
We enjoyed our stay! There was enough rooms for our 4 different families and the kitchen was stocked with utensils and cookware we needed! I appreciated the quick responses I received when we had questions. Being close to the water is always a plus!
What a great rental property. Well stocked with all the conforts of home. Great covered patio that we spent 90% of our time when we were at the rental. We will be back next uear
We all loved our stay at this beautiful lake home! Lovely updated decor and great location, close to all the fun this area has to offer! Thank you for sharing with us!
Two families with 6 total kids 10-17 years in age, plus two dogs. Super comfortable, great layout with so many good gathering spaces inside and out. Will echo what other reviewers said about the swimming in the lake. Bring water shoes or you’ll probably hurt your feet, but the water is super clear and calm. My 10 year old neice caught a decent-sized Northern right off the dock! The kids fished every evening and everyone caught fish. Buy yourself a can of corn, that’s all they used for bait! The kitchen is VERY well-equipped. We found everything we needed, and I usually travel with spices, cooking utensils, pots/pans when we go to rental properties. Everything I brought stayed packed in our car the whole time. They even had a hand blender! I think it’s rare to find a VRBO that’s actually livable. Great stay, thanks again!
We stayed for 6 nights with people age 16 - 80. The cabin is very well stocked and nicely decorated. There are multiple outdoor seating areas and our favorite was the deck overlooking the lake.
There is a large set of stairs down to the lake with a beautiful dock area. The one downside would be the access to the lake. There isn't a ladder into the water and the shore was quite rocky so older guests or people with mobility issues will have difficulty accessing the water. The rocks are large and slippery by the shore.
The lake itself is very clean. There are a couple of sandbars that we visited with our rental pontoon. It is a big lake that was fun to explore.
Things we loved:
Well designed and stocked kitchen
Extra refrigerator
Multiple outdoor seating areas
Comfortable mattresses on beds
The “lily pad” on the lake
The size and configuration of the dock: We could have 6 people fishing at once!
Thoughtful decor
Skylights make the cabin light and bright.
Clean!
Beautiful clear lake with entertaining boat traffic
Things we learned:
Bring water shoes to wear in the lake. Feet got cut on the zebra mussels.
There are rocks on the shoreline. We had a 1 year old and 3 year old who missed sand to play in. We ended up going into Detroit Lakes to the city beach to give them beach time.
The sliding door to get in and out was difficult for our “littles” to manage.
