About this property

One Of A Kind Home in VA Wine Country on 50 acres

Summary:

Welcome to Lumusa Lodge. Leave your cares behind as you turn onto the windy road that leads you to this beautiful 50-acre retreat. We are proud to share our home and hope your time here is rejuvenating. Designed/built by a Hollywood actor and situated in wine country, this home is an hour from Dulles, 45 minutes from Charlottesville & 15 minutes from Culpeper. We have an adjacent farmhouse if you need additional space. Great venue for weddings, bachelorettes, and other special events.

The Space:

Enjoy the huge pool (seasonal) & hot tub ($45/night for heating), fishing in the pond, exploring the woods, the ample and cozy seating options inside and out, the open floor plan, the huge bathrooms, the cozy beds, the two-story screened-porch and our beloved Baldwin grand piano. Plus, we have recently added a Pickleball / Basketball court to the property.

Downstairs includes two bedrooms (one has a king bed and the other has a queen and two twins), a laundry, the den (includes a twin bunk bed and a full size pull out Murphy bed), a full bathroom (including jacuzzi tub) and a kitchenette with second fridge and beverage fridge. Upstairs includes the kitchen, an open living room, dining spaces, a full bathroom and a screened in porch. Off this main living area there are three spiral staircases - two inside overlooking the main living area and one outside above the screened-in porch. One of the inside lofts functions as a bedroom (two queen beds plus a twin mattress) and the other loft above the kitchen is a great place to do some work, read a book or play a game.

For the more adventurous, feel free to wander the property in search of the creek which is “up the hill and through the woods”.

Please note that the house can accommodate up to 13 guests. However, there’s an extra charge of $35 per guest per night for each guest beyond the 6th. To get the correct price, make sure to specify the accurate number of guests during your search.

Note: although the property is beautifully private, we do have neighbors and strive hard to be respectful of sound after 10:30pm.

Guest Access:

The entire home will be available for your use. The only shared space is the pickle ball court - potentially shared with our guests on the next property.

The Neighborhood:

The home is tucked back on a sleepy road, but situated a short drive to beautiful downtown Culpeper where you can find amazing restaurants and great shopping as well as:

Wineries & Vineyards, Kayaking close by, Hiking Trails, 35 minutes from Rag Mountain Distilleries & Breweries, Farmers Markets and more

Getting Around:

This home is wonderfully remote. You will need your car to make your journey to this home.

Other Things to Note:

Pool & Hot Tub: The pool will be closed from mid or late October through mid April. The hot tub remains open throughout the year. The hot tub is heated by propane, so there is a fee of $45.00 per night to use the hot tub. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan to use the hot tub so that we can make sure it is cleaned and ready for you.

Contact us if you are looking for a large group/wedding venue.

There is a wood firepit. You are welcome to gather wood from the property or bring your own.

Although very private, we ask that guests be mindful of sound traveling in the evenings, careful to keep noise to a minimum in the late evenings. Sound travels in the valley, and we want to keep relationships healthy with our awesome neighbors.

Interaction with Guests:

We will be available to answer questions during your stay. Sometimes, we will meet guests upon arrival to welcome you. During some stays, someone might be by to check on the pool and lawns. If you have an agreement with us to use the hot tub (reminder: there is an extra charge to use the hot tub), we will need to connect with you upon arrival to ensure you know how to operate the equipment.

Great getaway home on beautiful property!

The house itself is beautiful with great amenities. Theres a great pool, pool basketball, hot tub, firepit, and lots of flat land for throwing a football that kept everyone entertained. The inside of the house was immaculate with a great kitchen, multiple outside sitting areas including a screened fence and the bathrooms were really nice with 2 hot tub liked bathtubs. Theres a crazy state of the art projector that is amazing to watch movies and the couch can easily fit 6+ people. Just be careful because its more comfortable than most beds. The only issue we had was the Wifi being slow but who needs internet when you have so much to do in and outside the house!
