Smoky Mountain Log Cabin · Hot Tub · Fire Pit ·2 kings · Game Room
Unplug completely at Tall Timbers — a private log cabin on half an acre of wooded seclusion in the heart of Wears Valley, perfectly positioned between Pigeon Forge and Townsend. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a couple's retreat, or a friends' getaway, this cabin delivers the full Smoky Mountain experience with the amenities to match.
**The outdoor experience is what sets Tall Timbers apart.**
Your 6-person Viking hot tub with color-changing LED lights is drained, cleaned, and freshly refilled before every single stay — never shared water, never maintenance mode when you arrive. Gather the group around the firepit under a sky full of stars, grill out on the charcoal grill, and wake up each morning to mountain air on a wrap-around porch lined with rocking chairs. On half an acre of mature hardwoods, your nearest neighbor feels miles away.
**Inside, everyone has room to spread out.**
Two king bedrooms each with private baths give couples and families alike their own space. The open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area is the natural gathering hub — vaulted ceilings, a gas log fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen mean you can cook a real family meal, host a game night, or simply relax in a space that actually feels like a home rather than a hotel.
**The game room keeps everyone entertained.**
Head downstairs to the dedicated game room featuring a full-size pool table and an Infinity game table with dozens of built-in games — plus a mini fridge for game night refreshments. Four Roku Smart TVs, a Sony Bluetooth speaker, and high-speed WiFi mean there's never a dull moment when the weather turns.
**Perfectly located for a full week of adventure.**

Great cabin to stay at. Super clean and had everything we needed. Hot tub was a big hit for the family. Had no issues at all. It was in a nice area, felt very private. Would definitely stay there again.
Everyone really enjoyed pool , the view was beautiful, the cabin was cozy, warm, and gorgeous, not to mention the great location. Host was awesome, we had no difficulties, and great directions, polite. We really enjoyed our stay.
Cabin was clean and everything worked. The only complaint I have would be the master bedroom mattress. One side of the mattress was sagging pretty good.
Cabin is located in a very quiet and wooded area. Very beautiful setting. Everything was comfortable and well maintained. Even though there are cabins close by, it feels secluded because of the wooded area and just how quiet the area is. Would recommend for small groups (it was me and my two boys).
This was exactly what we all needed. If you’re looking for a place that’s out of the busy but close enough to make a drive in, this is the spot for you. It’s quiet, clean, has all that you need and feels like a luxury experience. We will stay here again for future trips to the Smoky Mountains.
Enjoyed our time in Tennessee and the cabin was amazing. Very clean and family friendly. The location was great very close to town and still quiet & cozy. I highly recommend staying here .
We throughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The Host was very good at communicating with us during our stay. Would definitely recommend.
The property was easy to find, based on directions from the homeowner. The cabin was very clean and we had no issues with anything during our stay. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table and just sitting on the deck and watching the fireflies. The fire pit was great. The only thing that we didn’t expect was the close proximity to other cabins. Ryan was very responsive both before and during our stay!
The cabin was easy to get to and the floor plan is great for families. The 2 levels aloows for privacy it you need it or get together when you want. Our kids and grandbaby stayed downstairs and it was if they had a cabin to themselves. Loved our stay.

Really glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back anytime!
Stayed for a long weekend and the place is amazing. Everything was as expected or better! It was very clean, quiet, and was a perfect peaceful getaway! 5 stars and it deserves it. Thank you for the great stay, I would highly recommend for anyone!
Everything was perfect and very clean. I've stayed in many cabins and never had owners be so caring and check up on us the way he did. Great location for a getaway, you're not right in town but close to everything.
We looked to book a property in the Wears Valley area and found Tall Timbers. We couldn't have been happier with its location to Pigeon Forge, Great Smoky Mountain NP and the Tail of the Dragon. The cabin was very clean with great amenities and provided absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing a vacation. Communication with our host was easy and efficient. Definitely will stay again!
The cabin was clean and comfortable, and met all our needs. The location was away from all the traffic and congestion but only a few minutes(great views going in) from Pigeon Forge. The cabin was well maintained and well stocked in the kitchen. The owner was nice and easy to contact for any questions we had and responded quickly. We would definitely stay here again!
While this property was in a nice location (although no views), it was a 'little' convoluted to get to. Good directions from Host but until you drove it a few times, you still had to use a GPS. Because it is located in the woods, when you enter it is dark inside even during the day. It was 'okay'..... kinda clean (a few issues).
1. Dishwasher had standing water inside (didn't use it)
2. Pool Table Felt needs to be replaced (main reason we choose this cabin)
3. Cobwebs all over the porch (needs to be cleaned)
4. Leaky kitchen faucet
5. Two corners of Kitchen Table Rug have curled corners and despite buying & buying & using Scotch Shipping Tape, we could not avoid tripping over the rug.
6. We felt that some chair cushions would really 'HELP' when using the kitchen chairs OR the porch rockers!
7. Just infor for 'Host" there is a broken Curtain Rod & Bent hinge on the downstairs door going outside.

Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like maybe you would've been more comfortable in a hotel or in the city. I do find it a bit odd that you used this to air complaints instead of messaging me directly during your stay.
Yes, these are "mountain roads" up by the mountains. They are all "convoluted" but easily navigable. Not real sure what you would like me to do about that.
And yes, trees do block sunlight. and yes, there are many trees in the valley and in the mountains. This is why people come here to see the beauty of nature! However, I assure you it is not "dark". Hundreds of guests have stayed here and you are the only complaint.
Yes, there are spiders in nature. Despite doing pest control, there will still be spiders that create webs. Take it down today, they most likely will be back up tomorrow. Its nature!
I play pool on this table regularly and have not had any issues, nor has any other guest, but maybe something has happened recently so I will gladly inspect it next time I'm there.
New rug, sometimes they do take some time to uncurl after being unrolled.
Quiet neighborhood far enough away from the crowds of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge so that you could have peace & quiet but close enough for us to easily drive to either town to play tourist. Close to Cades Cove as well. Really enjoyed the porch just watching the leaves fall and the squirrels & chipmunks scamper about. We would stay again.
The cabin upper bath room needs a new shower head very little water pressure in bath room sink

About the host
Hosted by Ryan Hall
Hi, I'm Ryan — an engineer by trade and a Smoky Mountain enthusiast by heart. I grew up in the era where a family vacation meant piling into the car and heading somewhere that felt completely removed from everyday life. That's exactly what I wanted to create with Tall Timbers. I stumbled across Wears Valley while exploring the quieter side of the Smokies and immediately knew it was something special. No strip traffic, no tourist chaos — just mature hardwood forest, mountain views, and the kind of stillness that actually lets you decompress. I bought the cabin because I wanted a place my own family could escape to, and sharing it with guests has turned into one of the most rewarding things I do. As an engineer, I'm wired to solve problems and sweat the details — which means when something isn't right at the cabin, it gets fixed fast. I take the cleanliness, maintenance, and guest experience seriously because I know you're trusting me with your vacation. I respond to every message within the hour and genuinely want your stay to be the best part of your year. When I'm not hosting, you'll find me outdoors — hiking the Smokies trails, fishing the local streams, or just sitting on a porch with a cup of coffee watching the mountains do their thing. I hope Tall Timbers gives you that same feeling.
Why they chose this property
Wears Valley chose me, honestly. I'd driven through a dozen communities in the Smokies looking for the right spot, and the moment I came down into the valley I understood why locals call it the Jewel of the Smokies. It sits between Pigeon Forge and Townsend — so you get the best of both worlds. You can be at Dollywood or Gatlinburg in 15 minutes, or you can turn the other direction toward Townsend and the quiet entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and feel like you have the mountains entirely to yourself. What I love most is that Wears Valley hasn't been overdeveloped. It still feels like a real Tennessee mountain community — local restaurants, friendly neighbors, wildlife in the yard, and a pace of life that actually slows you down. The fall foliage here is staggering. October weekends when the leaves peak and the valley turns gold and red are something I never get tired of watching from the porch.
What makes this property unique
Most cabins in the Smokies are either perched on a steep ridge with a view but a treacherous driveway, or they're tucked into a resort community where you can hear your neighbors. Tall Timbers is neither. It sits on a half-acre lot surrounded by mature hardwoods — completely private, completely accessible year-round, and completely quiet. The combination of amenities is hard to find in a 2-bedroom cabin at this price point: a private hot tub that's fully drained and refilled between every single stay, a game room with both a pool table and an Infinity game table, two king beds with private bath, a wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, and a gas fireplace — all on one level of wooded privacy in one of the most beautiful valleys in Tennessee. We also handle the details that most hosts overlook. The hot tub is never "resting" or "being serviced" when you arrive — it's always fresh, clean, and ready. The cabin is stocked and spotless. And if anything ever comes up during your stay, I'm a real person who responds fast and fixes things.
