Orchid House is a newly renovated historic home situated in historic Point Pleasant. This 2 bedroom 2 bath home is in the heart of downtown Bradenton. Walk to restaurants, Twin Dolphin Marina, Pier 22, Riverwalk, Planetarium, Manatee rehabilitation habitat, and the shops, bars and restaurants of Old Main St. as well as other nearby shops and restaurants. Truly a walking neighborhood. Only 8 miles to the beaches and the restaurants of beautiful Anna Maria Island. Rent a boat and add a whole new dimension to your Orchid House experience.
Enjoy the private hot tub in the beautiful and peaceful back yard complete with bar, grill, sitting area with comfortable couches and a fire pit. Or relax or dine on the huge front porch Two fireplaces with electric logs are available for the few cool days we experience in Bradenton. There are tvs in the living room and both bedrooms. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything you might need to prepare meals.
Orchid House was built in 1914 by the Beall's Store family. It was totally renovated from top to bottom and was completed in 12/2021. It was first listed with Vrbo in 12/2021.
Orchid House offers the option of a private chef, fishing captain, private boat and provisioning for those who are interested. We can provision your kitchen and bar before you arrive for a service fee. Just send us a grocery list and we will have everything there for you, saving you time on your vacation by not having to run immediately to the store! We also have available to you a private fishing guide or tour boat options.

Not only a beautifully restored classic home, but an excellent location! We loved the front porch, beds were super comfortabl, spacious and well equipped. Nice to have a hot tub and the bikes provided as this is a great biking area. The hosts provided a nice welcome basket and the kitchen, along with all the rooms, was well equipped. We walked to town (arts and craft show on the weekend) and along the beautiful Bradenton Riverwalk. We caught a the ferry over to AMI and had a great time kayaking down on Lido Island. It was a great way to end the year.

We really enjoyed our short stay for our teen daughter's lacrosse tournament. I'm a bit of a bed snob, and I the king in the master was awesome for sleeping. The entire property was very clean and well appointed. The hot tub in the back was a nice little bonus. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, yet close to some nice restaurants in walking distance. Overall we had a great stay!

What a beautiful home! All the little touches make our getaway feel like home away from home. The property was exactly as described- clean, comfortable and well equipped. Home is beautifully decorated. We especially loved the screened in porch, backyard w hot tub and gazebo w lights. Short walk to the marina and Riverwalk that we took advantage of every morning. Beautiful Home and Attention to Hospitality

The host thought of everything. The house was well stocked with with linens of every type with everything labels for easy navigation of every room. Beach equipment, great laundry, amazing bedrooms with comfortable beds. Will stay here again for our next family reunion in the area! 20 minutes from the beach (@9am)... crazy traffic if you go later. Walkable to the center of Bradenton and some great little restaurants. Definitely a rare find.

Amazing, comfy home for the holidays

We stayed at Orchid House for 13 nights over the Christmas holiday. There were 4 adults in our party. This home was one of our favorite rentals. It was charming with plenty of indoor and outdoor entertaining areas and two electric fireplaces. The kitchen was well-appointed. Everything was very clean. Location is within easy walking distance to the Manatee Riverwalk area and historic Bradenton. Check in was easy. The front porch was our favorite hangout spot. The home was decorated for the holidays. The backyard seating area with its hot tub, natural gas fireplace, and seating area had twinkle lights at night. Highly recommend. We would definitely rent this home again.

Moses Family Wedding at the Bishop Museum

We came down for a long weekend and our niece's wedding at the Bishop Museum. The property was perfect! It was updated but the charm is still there. The front porch is huge and very functional. We ate breakfast out there every day. We used the hot tub a few times and it's a nice touch. The property was spotless and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to the wedding! And there are restaurants, bars, and the Riverwalk within a short walk. We would stay there again for sure. We've had some great rentals in Italy, Siesta Key, Hocking Hills, Traverse City, etc. This one was up there! One more thing - having everything on one floor was perfect for my 80 year old mother.

As we pulled up to the house the landscaping was so beautiful. The front porch was perfect for any time of the day to enjoy. The beds were supportive and soft, truly the best combination of both. Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood

My sisters and I spent a "Girls trip" in this home and we absolutely loved it. The house is completely up to date, but still with some historic touches to the original house. We spent every morning having breakfast on the front porch which was so peaceful. Great location within a few blocks of the Riverwalk and downtown. We went to 3 different beaches during the trip as they were all close by. Definitely will be back and will recommend this to anyone.

The Orchid House was built in 1914 by Robert and Florence Beall. It was rumored to have been purchased through the Sears and Roebuck catalog. Robert Beall owned and operated a general mercantile on old Main Street in downtown Bradenton. He was forced to close that location store during the Depression but was then able to reopen when the economy recovered. That was the beginning of what would become Bealls Department Store.
Our parents purchased the property from the Bealls in 1975. They lived there for over 40 years until they both passed. When the house came to us it was in need of extensive repairs. We made the decision to renovate rather than demolish in order to keep the home in our family. Point Pleasant is a very special and historic part of the downtown Bradenton area.
We began our renovation in 2019 and spent the next two and a half years upgrading the windows, doors, replacing plumbing and wiring. We rebuilt the front porch and refinished the floors throughout the house. The kitchen and bathrooms were gutted and we replaced all appliances. We were able to handle the majority of the work ourselves and only hired help for those things for which we lacked the expertise. The Orchid House renovation was a true labor of love. We are now happy and proud to share our beautiful historic home with you.
The name Orchid House was chosen because at one time the backyard was home to 1000+ orchids. Our father raised and hybridized many different species of orchids well into his 90s until he could no longer care for them. His portrait hangs on the north wall of the living room.
