The house was fascinating not only due to how much room we had, but how much vintage charm the owners maintain with the decor. All of us spent so much time on the wrap-around porch and in the three-season room. It was a short walk to the lake and a brief enough drive to a store.
Scott was always available to answer questions and even contacted me after our stay re: an item we left behind. We made some great memories and my 91 year old mom absolutely enjoyed sitting on the porch for hours, visiting with grandchildren and great grandchildren. This is a perfect place for family gatherings.
A beautiful spacious victorian home. Lovely Mountain View! My family thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. Lovely yard for our dog...he loved the dog runner! Would recommend for a nice family getaway.
Fantastic house for a group of friends weekend. Scott was very communicative and easy to work with. House was perfect. Only negative would be we were responsible for taking the trash at the end of the stay to the local dump which was closed on Sundays. So if you stay and leave on Sunday factor that in and drop some stuff off at the dump Saturday.
We had a wonderful stay and was just what we needed for a ski weekend for 3 families (party of 10) with plenty of room to spare. We loved playing games while warming by the pellet stove or relaxing while watching a movie in the comfy family room. Scott was very responsive leading up and throughout, and made us feel very welcome when we arrived. We imagine the summer being just as wonderful with Newfound Lake a short walk from the backyard! We look forward to staying again in the future.
We could not have asked for a better experience! This is an exceptionally beautiful property with plenty of room for our 14 family members. The house was very clean and very well stocked-both with ample kitchen supplies and extra blankets and pillows. The location is also excellent- an easy walk down to the lake which is stunning. We only wished we could have stayed a little longer- my granddaughter cried when we were leaving! We hope to come back here again sometime.

Scott texted me on verbo to leave my phone number before leaving my home to his rental. Then he texted me to set the thermostat low since the oil is expensive. Are you kidding me? I have a 5 months old baby and will set the heat for her favor not yours. I didn't know I'm just paying you for the walls and furniture not the heat! I'm reminding you that your second floor thermostat was not functional then you wanted to send a technician or give me a refund and then you ended up charging me for one of two thermostats in the first floor which wasn't even touched. He says that thermostat is not working after I got there. if it was not working, why you're asking $ 250 for overheating? the thermostat failed to connect to wifi, however,it could be used manually. How could it be my fault? He is asking $500 ( 250 bucks for overheating 😀 and $300 for replacing thermostat. I assume he gave me $50 discount 🤣) and the last point is I heated up the first floor as I arrived because all bedrooms are in second floor and thermostat was not functional. He lowered the smart thermostat several times and then we turned off the wifi around 11 pm not to allow him to control the temperature in our rental. Also no toiletries in bathrooms. you have to take your garbage miles away since there is no working trash dump station near by
Very spacious home with plenty of outdoor space. We had six adults and two small children and it never felt crowded. The lake was very kid-friendly with shallow, calm water. We enjoyed the grill and screened in porch!
The house and property are beautiful, the location is amazing with a 3 min walk to the lake. There are nearby walking trails and the views are remarkable.
We rented this house for a family reunion week. We had people coming from all different states. This house comfortably fit 13 people in our party. Six of them were children ranging from 9-14. The house is old and with that came some expected quirks, but the rooms accommodated us all comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed for making meals for a large group. It was great having plenty of options for privacy to read or relax on the multiple porches, library or den. Not to mention the wonderful accessibility of the beach and Gray Rocks Conservation Area. We spent multiple days kayaking, swimming and enjoyingthe beautiful lake. My husband and I particularly enjoyed our morning coffee with the sunrise by the water. Walmart and other grocery stores were conveniently located only 11 minutes away and we were grateful for the close proximity to urgent care (because it's not summer vacation without swimmers ear). And if you happen to be there during a massive thunderstorm and have a power outage, it is an excellent house for a good old fashioned game of sardines; a memory our children will soon not forget. All around this home provided a comfortable and beautiful setting to relax and make memories as a family. We would certainly rent it again!
Stayed at Scott’s Lake House for an Ice Fishing Tournament on Newfound Lake. Great farm house with tons of space. House was clean and very comfortable. Group of six guys but never felt like we were crowded staying there. Access to the lake was a short drive on a private road. Where you could park a vehicle and enjoy the lake. Just needed to use the provided parking pass. Scott communicated quickly and answered any questions that we had. Would definitely stay there again!
