About this property
Celebrate in our Cozy Cabin with optional hot tub, surrounded by wildlife.
The wood burning stove, large deck and nearly 4 acres of garden and forest provide a truly relaxing rural experience!
Casual country style in bold colors with tiffany lamps and Vinyl plank floors make our home comfortable and unique. You will love our mostly local art collection.
We live here part time, and that will be evident the minute you open the fridge! The upside of this, is that the kitchen is stocked for chef level cooking and all pantry basics are there- just replace anything you use.
The house itself is a work in progress. The hall, bedroom bath and breakfast nook are painted, and the rest gets painted an hour at a time. Photos will (try to) be updated to reflect changes as they occur. We do one wall at a time, so that guests won't be put off by odors.
Most of our effort, especially in fall and winter is focused on fire abatement. There are lots of leaves everywhere.
Out Holiday tree is up for your enjoyment. Ornaments are almost all significant of some vacation or personal event, and while we hope you enjoy looking at them, they are not intended to be souvenirs. We've had a bit of that over the past nine years of hosting.
We have zero tolerance for inhaled products of any sort, and expect you to be drug free in particular. We have hosted over 700 groups and are returning to VRBO after a long hiatus. Unfortunately since Meth is now a thing, we will be discussing it, and we will expect to greet you and meet you in person.
We own a service dog. Due to a previous $$$ attack of our little guy, our service dog trumps all others, and we can not accept any other. We also have fur rugs/furnishings, and our dog knows the rules, but so far, other service dogs have not understood them!
Our home is always exceptionally clean, and we think tastefully decorated but it is structurally dated, especially in the bathroom. We try to make up for that with a lower daily rate, (which currently has a little wiggle room) and prefer longer stays that dilute our higher cleaning fee.
Our rates are temporarily high due to holidays and increasing our visibility so we can afford to offer deep discounts. The first weekend, the week before Christmas, will be offered at the normal weeknight rate. Same for non holiday weekends in January. We have limitations on how we can manipulate the calendar's prices. So ask and we will try to work with you.
We just installed new curtains which show in the tree photo.
The property has an in-law unit, approximately 30 feet from the kitchen sliding door. This is our home during your stay, or we may choose to be in the bay area. We are not offering a vacant property, just a vacant house. We close off areas that are our personal space, including the master suite, garage and porch.
You may see us coming and going across the front yard as this is the only means to access our building.
We don't always have perfect phone reception. Use G Maps to find us, we can't guarantee anyone else's directions. Please make sure you have our numbers in your phones before you head up.
We can refer you to our 500 reviews, while booking through VRBO.
Please do not book without contacting us first. We are pretty picky. NO CHECKS from third parties or third party bookings will ever be accepted.
There is a surprising amount of noise in a forest, especially post the River fire. You might hear gun fire, two stroke engines, or heavy equipment. All of this is normal for the area. Our nearest neighbor has young grandchildren but they are about 400 feet or more away.
More photos will be added soon.

About the host
Hosted by Jamie Edson

We have been hosting, mostly in the Bay area, for 9 years. We are both in real estate. This is our legal primary residence, but it is really our 2nd home. We usually only rent this house on holiday weekends, if that, but often have a room mate in the bedroom shown instead of hosting.
Why they chose this property
This is supposed to be our retirement home, hahaha. We're old as and somehow we are still working.
What makes this property unique
The best part of this house in our opinion is that there is something always in bloom. But in the fall, everything is under a thick blanket of leaves.
We have a long patio on the back were we have a nice swing. This is where the hot tub is located as well. It is not shared during your stay.
