About this property
Trouvaille House Sweet Suite
One of the oldest homes in Harpers Ferry, newly renovated and freshly decorated with lots of light and private spaces.
Pre Civil War home in Harpers Ferry, just steps away from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and conveniently located between lower town and upper town. A short walk either way!
Each room is a suite with private bath, luxury linens and toiletries.
Suite 4 is upstairs, large and light filled. The en-suite bathroom is entered through antique doors and is very large and spa - like with pedestal sink and soaking tub, that has a hand shower as well. From there, you enter your own private screened in balcony/porch!
The kitchen / gathering room is shared between 4 suites, as well as the grounds. There is a small bistro table in the front great for chatting with passers by. The backyard is equipped with a pellet grill, outdoor dining table and a great fireplace! Park like landscaping is in the works, to be completed by early fall.
I am in and out, or gardening on a regular basis. Otherwise, you may find me around the corner at our sister property, La Soledad. I am always available by text and phone!
We are in Historic Harpers Ferry right on the Main Street. We are a short walk from lower town and the NHP, as well as uppertown - very centrally located.
Harpers Ferry is a walking town with limited parking. Guests will be provided a parking pass for the property. Wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain is hilly!

About the host
Hosted by Christie May

I live around the corner from the Trouvaille House at La Soledad Lavender Farm. I have been a professional artist for many years, and started hosting my first guesthouse during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was such a positive and rewarding experience, that with a partner, I purchased and remodeled the Trouvaille House in 2021. I love meeting my guests and making sure they have the best experience and memories of their visit to Harpers Ferry!
Why they chose this property
The Trouvaille House was built in 1830, one of the earlier Harpers Ferry homes. The foundation supports utilized decommissioned canal boat beams from the C&O Canal. While the house is very old, since its remodel, it feels very fresh and bright, with lots of artwork, spacious rooms and modern conveniences.
What makes this property unique
The Trouvaille House is conveniently positioned in historic Harpers Ferry on the main street, but up a little from the bottleneck congestion of “lower town”. There is reserved parking in front, and it is an easy walk (3/4 of a mile) to lower town and even closer to the restaurants and attractions in the upper part of town.
While it is in town, the backyard looks out onto woods and is very private and park-like. There you can enjoy grilling and eating outside, or sitting in front of the outdoor fireplace in cozy Adirondack chairs.
Enjoy a long soak in the pedestal tub with the lavender soap and bath salts provided from my lavender farm around the corner!
