The Space:
Morning light spills across the lanai as the Pacific stretches toward the horizon and green mountains rise beyond the city skyline. From the 27th floor, you feel the steady island breeze and watch Waikiki come to life below. Evenings bring a softer glow - city lights flicker on while the ocean deepens to blue in the distance.
The Space
Set in Waikiki Banyan Tower 1, this one-bedroom condo offers both ocean view and mountain view from a west-facing vantage point. The open layout connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas, cooled by a window AC unit and ceiling fan for comfort throughout the day. Sliding doors separate the bedroom from the main living area, giving you the option of privacy or an open flow. The home is single level with elevator access in the building.
Sleeping arrangements
The bedroom features a king bed dressed in cotton linens, with room-darkening shades and closet storage. In the living area, a pullout sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space. The condo comfortably accommodates up to four guests.
Living space
After a day at the beach, settle into the living area with a 56 inch HDTV with standard cable. Fast wifi - 256 Mbps, verified by speed test - supports streaming and video calls on multiple devices, and an Ethernet connection is also available. A dedicated workspace in a room with a door allows you to focus when needed while still enjoying your island setting.
Kitchen & dining
The kitchen offers full-size appliances and everything needed to prepare meals at home. Whether you are starting your morning with coffee or enjoying dinner in, the dining table creates a comfortable place to gather.

Location of the property was perfect was perfect for me and my two small children. Walking distance to the beach, stores and restaurants. Having a kitchen was excellent and we loved the view from our lanai! Beautiful spot to see Waikiki sunsets!

It was nice to have keyless entry. Management was responsive to any requests. The best part was the balcony and view from the bedroom. This condo was perfect for a married couple like us.

Very nice and clean. Good bed. Nice included parking. Well supplied. Great view. Fast elevators. Close and very walkable to all Waikiki food snd shopping. Easy to hope on roads to Kailua, North Shore, and many other beach areas….would definitely recommend for a couple and maybe also with a kid or two.

Property and management team are great and very responsive. Only down side is the elevators, would often wait 10-15 minutes for an elevator, which can be very frustrating, especially when cold and wet from pool or beach. Renovation project noted as being complete in November, so would come back after that’s finished. No sauna or restrooms available by pool.

Loved the location. The unit is nice. Only gave it 4 stars on cleanliness and communication because the jets on the bathtub and some of the grout are dirty like mold and we replied to welcome email about it. Nobody returned our email.

Overall a great place to stay. Location was towards the end of Waikiki which was nice. Parking was never an issue and definitely with the money in comparison to many of the hotels in the area. It also has a little convenience store downstairs.
My only issues with the rental come from personal preferences. The ac unit was a little on the loud side but it did the job. I also found the bed to be uncomfortable, my partner did not. It would have been nice to have a dark out curtain because of all of the light pollution in the city.

This is our 3rd stay at the Banyan, primarily because we like the location but first time in this suite. Pretty good overall. The suite had everything we needed including beach chairs and cooler. On the con side, we specifically picked this room because the bed looked comfortable, but it wasn’t really. The bathroom - shower tub area could really use some upgrading, and didn’t seem that clean - baseboards and shower curtain. Could have appointed a few more towels for a 2 week stay.
Easy checkin and checkout process.
Otherwise everything was great for our 2 week stay.

Great location, accurate listing, and excellent communication
I had a great time and experience with the unit and with Midway Vacations as a host. They regularly checked in via text and provided clear information and instructions for check in and departure. The unit is just as it looks in the pictures and from the large lanai you can see the mountains and the ocean.
The amenity floor is quite large. Note: this is a very large and busy building and waits for the elevator can be long as well as there can be a wait to get into the parking garage. The included parking is a huge win with this property.
The only reason I feel compelled to give them 4/5 stars is because of a significant maintenance issue in my unit that resulted in an injury to my hand. As soon as this happened, I reached out to the host via text and they responded quickly and thoughtfully and repaired the issue (the oven door came off). It did not appear to be a new issue and looked like there was a previous fix which did not hold and this should have been noticed ahead of time and addressed. Things happen and it's about how you respond to them and they responded well. I would stay in this unit and with this host again but felt that this was significant enough issue that I should call it out.

Overall rating of this property is 3-star
The good: location is excellent, close walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
- Parking is very convenient.
- Separate bedroom so you don't disturb the other sleeping person.
- The bathroom sink is in a separate room from the toilet and tub.
- Private lanai with an ocean view to one side and mountain view to the other
- A/C works well
The not so good: the bed is terrible and needs to be replaced.
- The jet tub is stained and looks dirty, even though it probably is clean. We didn't try the jets.
- There were no stoppers to hold water in the kitchen or bathroom sinks.
- The fry pans rock on the stove.
- There was no dish cloth provided, only a sponge to wash with - this is why the stove was greasy and some of the dishes were not clean in the cupboards.
- Beach chairs and a small cooler bag were provided but nothing else for the beach. We donated an umbrella (if they leave it there) but you need to bring everything else.
- The unit really needs some upgrades - old plastic flowers are faded and dirty, the chairs and couch and bed are worn out and the tub needs to be replaced. On a return trip, I would search for a more updated unit until they at least replace the bed.

I brought my parents to Hawaii for two weeks to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and my birthday. We couldn't have been more pleased with this stay! We really liked the fact that there is a pull out door to separate the main bedroom from the living room for privacy since I stayed on the pullout couch. The pullout was comfortable enough and the mattress is thick enough that I didn't feel the bars/frame beneath it. Also a plus is the door that separates the tub/toilet from the sink area so you can get ready while someone is using the bathroom/shower. The kitchen is well laid out and stocked enough to get you started. The light above the stove only works when it wants to and is not very bright, so we just relied on the main kitchen light.
I am going to guess the batteries are dead in the TV remote since it didn't work, but we really didn't have the TV on much anyway, so never thought to contact anyone. The air conditioning is really loud, but we didn't mind since we use a white noise app on our phones anyway, so it all blended together.
The two main reasons for booking this stay for me was the free parking (a must when staying in Waikiki and you can walk anywhere from this location) and the high floor on the lanai with the ocean, city and mountain views! This is my jam! No, we are not in the room a whole lot, but when you wake to have your morning coffee and when you come home from traveling the island, these views are the perfect beginning and ending to any day! I hope this helps others when searching for their perfect place to call "home" when staying on Oahu.

Very convenient location, mixed quality units, terrible building
We’ve stayed at the Waikiki Baynon a few times. We love the location, but the building is just terrible. Each unit is different, so look closely at the photos and reviews. This one was okay, but not the nicest we’ve stayed in. The bed was comfortable but moved a ton when my spouse moved, which made it difficult to sleep. Check out is 10am, which is on the early side and a bit more annoying because of the terrible elevators, mentioned below. So you have to have extra time to wait for the elevator. It’s a huge complex. Inevitably each time we stayed, the fire alarm went on off requiring all 3 buildings to be evacuated. Because each unit has kitchens, my guess is that someone set it off cooking. It takes an hour or so for them to clear it, while all 1,000 guests wait outside downstairs. That is very frustrating when it’s 8pm at night and you just want to relax.They don’t have enough elevators. One was out of service during our visit, which led to long wait times and very crowded elevators. Everyone, including cleaning and maintenance use the same elevator. So even when they repair the 4th elevator, it will still be a frustrating wait. The algorithm is not set correctly, so often the elevator stops at every floor because it doesn’t realize that it’s full. It gets full because everyone is waiting and it becomes a cycle of very slow elevators and long wait times.As much as we love the location, ocean view, free parking and the large spaces, we won’t stay here again.
