Cozy apartment with a beautiful view, quiet location.

Our chalet is located at 1100 meters above sea level. in the mountain village of Habkern above Interlaken. Here you can enjoy the tranquility and at the same time have a variety of opportunities for excursions (Jungfrau region, Grimselwelt) and experiences in the great world of the Bernese Oberland Alps. The beautiful city of Thun with its offers is also easily accessible.
Mountains such as the Augstmatthorn (2137m above sea level), the Gemmenalphorn (2061m above sea level) or the Hoh Gant (2197m above sea level) can be climbed directly from the house. The Lombachalp high moor area can be reached in your own car or with the Alpin bus.
The apartment with garden seating is on the ground floor of our chalet and can accommodate 3 people. This includes a parking space and a covered patio.
You can reach a bakery and a bus stop in a few minutes' walk (pick-up service may be possible).
TV, radio and WiFi are freely available in the apartment

Jo met us and showed us around when we arrived. He understands and speaks English well along with German and Danish. He has a beautiful apartment perfectly suited for 2-3. The kitchen is stocked with most needed cooking utensils. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Jo made sure we could do laundry. He even bought us local pastries one morning!

Nice apartment on a quiet location

Nice and quiet apartment with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Beds are firm but comfortable, only some more comfortable outdoor chairs would have finished it off perfectly. Joachim is a very friendly host who is around when needed.

If you are a couple looking for peace and tranquillity then this is the place for you. The host was most helpful. The only slight negative was the flies and one night being bitten by mosquito's, but if you go prepared it is a minor inconvenience. Overall a most enjoyable two week holiday.

Perfect Swiss chalet in a real Swiss village

This apartment is located in Habkern, which is easy to get to if you have a car, and there is bus service to within 500m of the chalet. It is clean, safe, and quiet, and Sylvia and Joe are lovely hosts. This is a perfect spot if you want to actually stay in the mountains, but not be surrounded by tourists. Interlaken is only 10 minutes away, so we shopped at CoOp and Aldi to save money on meals. Habkern is its own village, with a few restaurants and a bakery, plus cows, goats, and cats hunting mice in the fields. This is an excellent place to stay and we will stay here again in the future.

Quiet Swiss Village

My wife and I are seniors and stayed at this apartment for 9 nights in early October 2022. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The village and area are still primarily a farming area. The only noise was the pleasant sound of the cow bells. Jo and Sylvia are excellent hosts and very friendly. We used the free bus pass to go to Interlaken often. I would recommend the walk from Murren to Gruntschwald as a nice easy gentle downhill walk for an old fellow with bad knees! We also were impressed with the St Beatus Caves a short bus ride away. All in all a first class experience. Thanks Jo!

The worst experience ever with vrbo

At check in the security door was propped open (1st red flag). The building looked as if it was under renovation in the hallways(lots of dust and debris. Once I entered the unit it was not cleaned at all! The bedroom had been slept in, the shower and bathroom had been used (dirty towels on floor etc.). At that point I felt unsafe thinking someone would return while I was there. I immediately left and contacted the host. I never returned.

Wat een heerlijk appartement en wat een schitterend uitzicht! Op de berg in Habkern hebben we 12 dagen genoten van het appartement va Joachim. Rust, maar als je afdaalt richting Interlaken de reuring en alle mogelijkheden om alle kanten op te gaan. Precies wat we zochten.
