Welcome to Red Mesa Ranch! Come get away from it all! Located within a short driving distance of the National parks - Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and so many more amazing outdoor adventures. A peaceful retreat at the end of your days adventures.
Just 10 Minutes from town) on 5 acres surrounded by open space, and stunning views in every direction. Cozy and comfortable spaces, with a fully stocked kitchen, and many upgrades.
Wake up to fresh local coffee at sunrise on the porch, then you can gather friends & family together in the evening on the patio to grill, Lawn games, or just enjoying the sunset over the Mesa. Be sure and experience our dark skies, perfect for stargazing around the firepit by night.

There is access to hiking, ATV, and horse trails right from the property, as well as the New Tilted Mesa bike and hiking trails just a mile from the house!

We have a large parking area on site, with lots of room for you to bring your toys, and are less than a 1/4 mile from Johnson canyon recreation area with endless trails.
Equine facilities are available for your horses - A short distance to Buckskin Gulch slot canyon, Bryce Canyon, and the Kaibab National forest, Near the Grand Canyon.

We do have a welcoming committee...Our 2 dogs will bark, but are both friendly and like to play. You are welcome to visit the horses and goats as well.

There are outside security cameras on the property at the entrances, and the driveway.

As the owners, we live on the premises, but we respect your privacy. Don’t hesitate to say hello, and let us know how we can make your stay with us spectacular!

Simply amazing!

We enjoyed three wonderful nights at the Red Mesa Ranch. The house and property were exactly as described and even better in person! The house was immaculate, offered incredible views and plenty of space for the four of us. It allowed us to venture out to the National Parks, Peek-a-Boo Canyon, & Antelope Canyon easily. Kanab was a short drive to town. The horses, goats, and dogs on property made it even more special! We wished we would have stayed longer! We hope to visit again!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

I wish I could give them 10 stars!

The property was immaculate and Julie and Jim were the most incredible hosts! They went out of their way to make us feel SO welcome! From the welcome sign on the door with our name, to a tray of extra treats. The small details and their thoughtfulness made a big difference! We loved every second of our stay at their place! One more thing….I always look at VRBO reviews to see if there are comments about how comfortable the bed is….it was perfection!

Amazing Property and location .

We loved this property. Every detail has been thought of. The space and layout is perfect for multiple couples or families . The house was spotless. The host was always very responsive. They provided many dining and activity recommendations. I will be back at some point. Loved it .

Perfect location for national parks!!

We had the most incredible vacation! Julie and Jim were extremely accommodating! My kids absolutely loved the animals on the property! We spent multiple days hiking in Zion and Bryce. We also visited the north rim of the Grand Canyon, Horse Shoe bend, kayaked on Lake Powell and saw the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. The location of this property was perfect to acess all of these natural, beautiful areas!

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay at the ranch. Julie and Jim (and Ayla!) are fantastic hosts. The house was so inviting and had everything we needed. The property is beautiful and the location was perfect for our trip and all the places we were able to visit - Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon and so much more.

Wonderful Trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Perfect size and space for our family and our girls loved visiting the animals each day. Great location, we took advantage and visited Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and North Rim of Grand Canyon. Highly recommend and would stay at this location again in the future!

Fabulous family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Julie & Jim’s. Their home is meticulously appointed and spotless. The beds were comfortable and the pantry/bathrooms were flush with all that we needed. This property is clean, well-maintained and has a stunning view. The owners provided personal touches like snacks and suggestions of things to do in the area. The horses, goats, and dogs were also fun to interact with and were an added bonus. I would definitely stay at this property again!

Nicest house we’ve ever rented

Sometimes these places come across great in photos but are not quite as pristine in person. not so with this home. It was gorgeous! Every detail is thought out to perfection and every need anticipated. Very clean. We stayed over Christmas and Julie had the place decorated so nicely which our kids loved. Comfortable beds. We loved the animals and visiting with the owners. We visited Grand Canyon, Bruce canyon, and Zion during our visit and also took advantage of some local kanab attractions. Loved it and would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

Lovely home

We had an unforgettable stay in this beautiful house in Kanab, Utah! Our party of 8 couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The property exceeded our expectations in every way. The location was perfect, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The house itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. It provided all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The highlight for us was the spacious kitchen and living area, which made it easy for our group to come together for meals and quality time. The bedrooms were comfortable, and everyone had their own space. Kanab is a fantastic base for exploring the stunning natural wonders of Utah, and this house was the ideal home away from home during our adventures. We enjoyed hikes in the nearby canyons, starry nights, and the tranquility of the area. The communication with the property owner or manager was excellent, and they were always ready to assist with any questions or requests. We loved their horses, goats and puppies too. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic retreat in Utah. It made our trip truly memorable, and we can't wait to come back!

Perfect views and location

This house exceeds 5 stars. It is immaculately clean and well situated for daytime activities. We easily went to Bryce, Zion, Horseshoe Bend, and North Rim of Grand Canyon. Jim and Julie are wonderful hosts. They do respect your privacy but are happy to visit if you wish. You will feel secluded yet secure knowing the host is close by in case something happens with the house. I found it comforting that the host is near because I knew any problems that may arise would be immediately addressed. With that said, we had no problem whatsoever. I would stay there again without any hesitation. Thanks Jim and Julie. 5++ stars!!

Perfect Location, Property, and Hosts

This place was perfect. Perfect location - Zion, Bryce Canyon, North Rim, and Lake Powell all within an hour to an hour and a half. Kanab has a lot to offer as well. Perfect house and property. Beautiful home with no detail overlooked, on a great lot with awesome views. Horses, dogs, and goats on the ranch that make it feel more like home. Perfect hosts. Julie and Jim were friendly, accommodating, and helpful with recommendations for sights to see in the area. If we ever make it back to Utah we will certainly stay here again.

National Parks checklist

We came to UT for our daughter’s high school graduation trip. There were 7 of us (2 parents and 5 kids ages 15-21). Our stay could not have been more perfect. I was convinced we would miss not having a pool or hot tub but I was wrong. The front porch was perfect for coffee and the sunrise. The back porch was where we played table games. Corn hole was great too! But allllll the touches inside are what made it special. The note and gift for my daughter in honor of her graduation, the snacks and coffee, the shampoos and soaps…. The house was immaculate and the beds were comfy. My son played Xbox without one complaint about the WiFi! It was the perfect location for trips to the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, Zion and a few local spots. We loved coffee at Taro in Kanab. The grocery stores are a bit limited but they had what we needed. Couldn’t recommend this house more! Truly was a perfect place to call home base for a week.

Perfect!

This property is exactly as presented online. It was super clean and fit our needs perfectly. We felt at ease and at home! The home is wonderfully put together and well thought out. The backyard view is beautiful! The house is a short trip into town (Kanab) and nicely situated for day trips to Zion, Bryce, and all that the area has to offer. We loved this little piece of heaven and can’t wait to return!

Our stay was SPECTACULAR!!!

This stay feels like your home not landing somewhere temporary. Hosts are very sweet, the home is very clean, beautifully themed decorations, and a great location right in the middle of all the national parks. Also, great things to sight see and hike in Kanab. We can’t say enough how nice it was and how much we thoroughly enjoyed this house. Your stay can make or break your experience of vacation and this one will not disappoint!

Perfect in every way!

We had a party of 6 and this home was amazing. Enough room for everyone. The location was perfect for us for what was on our agenda. The views were beautiful Julie couldn't have been any more hospitable. From the welcome sign out front to the fully stocked coffee bar. Extra chairs for relaxing on the front porch. When we go back to Kanab we will be booking this house again. Thank you Julie for making our trip a wonderful one.

I am a Utah native, from the Northern end of the state. With a love for the outdoors, I fell in love with the red rock, and beauty of Southern Utah, and all it has to offer. My Husband is a Texan, born and bred, but has found that there is no place he would rather be as well. We live on the property, and love that we can share our place with you...Your privacy is always our priority. We love that we get to meet so many great people from all over.

Why they chose this property

This property was built with you in mind. A great central location with adventures in every direction, yet a few miles from shopping and restaurants makes for an amazing vacation getaway. The perfect way to end your days adventures. BBQ and relax on the patio with friends & family as the sun sets over the mesa, and the stars fill the dark skies.

What makes this property unique

You will love the open open space! We are surrounded by beautiful red rock views, on 5 acres, and back up to BLM land (Bureau of Land Management) property with the Mesa, and hiking right out the back door, and Johnson Canyon less than a 1/4 mile to the east with so many great trails for hiking, horses, and ATV's. You can gather around the firepit, at the end of the day to make S'mores and Chat about your days adventures under a blanket of stars. The horses, and goats are always up for a visit, and love interacting with you.
