This rare cottage style home is brimming with character and charm. The whimsical backyard is perfect for relaxing complete with stone walls to offer privacy and off street parking. You will be in the heart of thriving Historic Downtown New Bern, a very short walk to shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and more! River tours, museums and historic walking tours await in New Bern or take a short 35 minute drive and see the Emerald Isle.

Beautifully decorated and super clean. Impeccable attention to details that make a guest feel welcome. Lovely back deck for drinking morning coffee. Within a few blocks from great restaurants that we walked to every night. Would stay here again.

A charming little house, one of the oldest in New Bern. The location sits in the Beer-muda triangle (super close to three local breweries) with easy access to downtown. Great communications with the owner.

July 4th celebration

First, the home was just as described and it is easy to understand why it has received high reviews from other guests. We can confirm and echo the 👍👍👍👍👍 for this property. Next, it was our 1st trip to New Bern. If you have not visited, give it a try. It is a historical city with a lot of great restaurants and breweries. And now you know where to stay.

We have stayed at several VROBs and this is definitely among our favorites. Everything about the house and the yard was perfect! The host had thought of everything that provide convenience, entertainment, relaxation and comfort. The only complaint was location as it was a little further walk to the shops and restaurants than we were expecting. However, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

A beautiful historical cottage within walking distance of the town centre.

We stayed for a weekend to check out New Bern and all the historic homes and buildings. This home has been beautifully decorated to a very high standard . Every little detail has been thought out to make your stay more comfortable. We loved having our morning coffee in the pretty back garden whilst our two dogs enjoyed pottering about . The house was immaculate and a real joy to call our home for the weekend . We will definitely be back .

Lovely

My partner and I had a wonderful time on our short visit to New Bern. The house was very nice and clean, well-stocked and had everything we needed. So many thoughtful touches, like bottled water in the refrigerator, night lights, comfortable bedding, noise machines, extra chargers and more. Close to downtown so we were able to walk everywhere. Communcation with the owner was seamless. The only negative was the traffic and the noise from the breweries close by. There was a beer festival on the Saturday night we were there, so I know that would not be a usual occurence but there was definitely more loud traffic than we expected. However, the house was so nice and the back porch was lovely that we would not hesitate to stay again!

The hosts thought of everything!

We have stayed in VRBOs for years, and we have never seen such care given to every detail in a home! From the Keurig machine and bottled smart water in the master suite to the meticulously-prepared binder of salient information in the living room, the home was deliberately prepared to be welcoming and comfortable. There were plenty of pillows, towels, and kitchen supplies (which I appreciate so much as someone who has to cook nearly every meal due to food intolerances). The phonograph and records were a nice touch which we all enjoyed! The house itself is charming and beautifully decorated and is situated in the perfect location. The backyard was cozy and inviting. The hosts even supplied white noise machines to add to their guests' comfort. I cannot say enough about this adorable cottage, which is also much more affordable than nearly every VRBO we have every stayed in! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Quaint & perfectly thought out

This unique historical home was the perfect stay for our week in New Bern. One would never know the home was built in mid-1700’s. So many little details and amenities were thought out by the hosts. Each room had special touches - bathrooms had extras you may have forgotten, other rooms had books about New Bern, games and electronic cords, Keurig and seating area in master, and even dogs bowls and toys for the pooches! Kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. Beds were comfortable. Communication from host was great. Food & coffee within a block. (Definitely try Crema Brew!) Downtown was a quick 4 blocks, 2 to mansion and trolley. Safe area and neighbors were friendly. Friday and Saturday nights were hoping with activities from the restaurants adjacent but it did not hinder our sleep or privacy. Lovely backyard and again, perfectly thought out with chairs, table, hammock and lights. I would definitely stay here again next time we’re in town.

This place is a gem. All the rooms were immaculately clean and sparkling. I had seamless connectivity with the Wi-Fi. The bed was so comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything and more. The host was remarkably responsive and accommodating. Everything is within walking distance; didn't need my car at all during those three days. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Home away from Home

This property has everything we wanted in a home. Private entrance, enclosed backyard for our frenchie, patio area with grill. The inside is roomy, beautifully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. Washer, dryer, dishwasher….the list goes on and on. Walking distance to the palace, gift shops, eateries. Luxury accommodation at mid-range price point

Miraculous renovation of this 1769 cottage adds modern amenities while maintaining historic vibe. Extremely thoughtful design - you'll want for nothing. Everything is super clean and in like new condition. Hosts super responsive. Only a couple blocks from Tryon Palace and 5 block walk to river or shopping along historic street. Coffee shop, wine bar, and soul food take out sll within two blocks. Out preferred accommodation for future trips to New Bern.

The house is perfect for a couple or small family. Amenities are great and the house is in excellent condition. It was everything we were looking for...walkable to downtown and fenced in yard for fur babies. Coffee shop and great restaurant a block away. Would definitely stay here again.
