Relaxing Getaway Lake Cabin with Pristine Views
BOAT ACCESS ONLY
Looking for a retreat to your own private lake cabin on an island? Then look no further. Create everlasting memories with your whole family while relaxing at this peaceful lake cabin. Enjoy fishing from the dock, taking the canoe or paddle boat out on the lake, bird watching, or sit on the deck and enjoy the scenery. At night, light up the Solo Stove fire pit and enjoy company from your loved ones and tell stories of the day. Located only 5 minutes from Ringo's Marina.
*BOAT ACCESS ONLY*
This cabin is accessible by boat only:
If Renting a Boat:
Rent a boat at Lakeside Marina. Lakeside Marina provides different sized boats and cost will be determined based on boat selected. Contact the marina directly or go to their website to view options and pricing. Please arrive early enough to unload and be ready to disembark from marina to the cabin, which is about 5 minutes from the marina, prior to dark. The lake gets rather dark at night. Park your car inside the gate at the marina. Parking is first come, so if parking is full then you'll need to park outside their gate on the street. If your party has more than 1 car then all other cars need to be parked on the street outside their gate. We've parked our own cars on the street in Lakeside numerous times without any issues. Moor your boat in our 2 bay boathouse for convenience or moor it to the side of the dock. If renting a Pontoon boat, it will need to be moored to the dock as it wouldn't fit in the boathouse.
If arriving via Lake Taxi:
Lakeside Marina also provides a lake taxi service. Call the marina for current pricing. Reservations must be made with the marina directly and we encourage your reservation be made once the cabin reservation is confirmed. This way you'll be sure to be on their schedule. Be sure and arrive with plenty of time to unload and load the taxi as the lake taxi only operates from dusk till dawn. If bringing your own boat:
You can use the County Park in lakeside to launch your boat. You can also park your vehicle within the County Park for a small fee. Be sure to arrive with plenty of time to unload and arrive at the cabin prior to dark. The lake gets rather dark at night. Moor your boat in our 2 bay boathouse for convenience or moor it to the side of the dock. If arriving via a Pontoon boat, it will need to be moored to the dock as it wouldn't fit in the boathouse.
Cabin does come with a Solo Stove fire pit along with wood to burn. However, please keep in mind you are on an island and not in close proximity to a fire station; keep flames controlled and use fire pit screen. During summer months Lakeside may impose a fire ban and thus fire pit will not be available for use.
Cabin is located in what is called Blue Heron Bay. The bay is quiet and provides lots of bird and other wildlife sightings.
Be sure to grab your food or groceries before disembarking to the cabin. There is a McKay's in town with a good selection of food. There are also a few restaurants to choose from.
Cabin faces south and gets full sun exposure, so bring your sunglasses and sunscreen! In the evening sit out on the deck and watch the amazing sunsets or sit in the great room and look out on the lake through the huge bay windows.
Cabin has 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. 1 bedroom with a full size bed. There is also a queen size bed in the loft. Each bed has a 3" memory foam mattress topper. Access to the loft may not be achievable by all. Staircase is narrow and steep.
There is a full kitchen with microwave, stove, oven, toaster, griddle, refrigerator, filtered water (cold & hot), drip coffee, French press. Kitchen comes with dish, cook, and glass wear as well as utensils.
There is a flat screen TV in the great room which includes a Blu-Ray player with access to NetFlix and Amazon (using your own account). A small selection of DVDs is also included, a small selection of board games as well.
Several fishing poles are kept at the cabin for your fishing pleasure. Be sure and pickup desired bate and any other gear at Lakeside Marina as well as any required fishing licenses.
A few towable tubes are also included at the cabin if you come via ski-boat.
There is also a canoe and paddle boat for your pleasure as well as life jackets. Life jackets are required to be worn by children under the age of 13 while on or near the water (dock) at all times.
Cabin is equipped with a well and water is filtered using several filters. However, it's not recommended to drink the tap water. A separate water filter is available in the kitchen for drinking.
A heat pump has recently been installed at the Cabin and provides Heat and AC. The great room does get a bit warm when the sun is hitting the large bay windows.
Cabin utilizes a septic tank. Nothing other than toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilets. If an emergency Roto Rooter is required, there may be an additional charge.
There is a family of deer who frequent the property multiple times a day. They are skittish, but tend to get defensive with dogs.
Wi-fi is provided, so bring any other streaming/connected devices you'd like.
This cabin is accessible by boat only. You can arrive via your own boat, take a lake taxi from Lakeside Marina (reservations are required in advance), or rent a boat from Lakeside Marina.
Key to cabin is located in coded lockbox next to sliding glass door. Code will be provided on day of check-in.
Again, this is boat access only. The island is quiet and secluded, so come with any needed supplies, which is mainly food.
