We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The cabin was very neat and clean and at a beautiful location. Host was super great and very responsive. We would love to visit back again.
Beautiful and spacious cabin, fun and accommodating for everyone in our group. Lisa was kind and available to us since we booked the cabin. Thank you for allowing us spend a great time at your place!!
My friends and I had an amazing time at Bearwood for our cabin-birthday weekend! The cabin is equipped with everything that you could need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The kitchen is stocked with every tool you could ask for, the game room/hot tub was amazing, and the drive to town was a short 10 minutes away.
Overall, I would book this cabin again in a heartbeat, thanks, Lisa!
Our family of 13 had a great time at this property! There were enough beds and bathrooms for all of us to be comfortable. The large dining table inside and picnic tables outside allowed us all to gather for meals, card games, and conversation. The kids really enjoyed the pool table, video games, and hot tub as well. Plus, we had a bear visit us several mornings. It was a memorable trip!
The cabin was amazing! There was plenty of space so no one felt like they were on top of each other & each family had their own bathroom, which was the icing on the cake. The deck was perfect for a morning cup of coffee & an evening nightcap. Our teenage kids had a blast playing pool & staying together in the bunkbed room. This was a trip we’ll always cherish!
This place was lovely for our long weekend getaway! Plenty of space for 10 of us (2 were small children). We loved watching for bears and were not disappointed! The kitchen was well stocked for creating meals. Beds were comfortable and everyone enjoyed having their own space. I communicated with the owners a couple of times during our stay and they were very prompt in getting back with me. Thanks for a great stay!

Marci, I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay at Bearwood Cabin. Your 5 star review means so much to us. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Hope to see you next time you’re in the Smokies.
This cabin is nestled in the Smokies. The deck was our favorite spot. Even the bears showed up for karaoke night. They apparently had dinner at the trash can after the music, as the police showed up the next day. We thought it was from the bad karaoke, but it was really because the bears left a huge mess like the
people that were there before us. Lisa, the property manager was great and helped fix some of the issues from their stay. Great cabin. Family had a great time!!!
The cabin wasn’t properly cleaned. There was mold throughout, especially in the showers and hot tubs. The black buildup in the bathroom hot tub made it unusable, which was really disappointing. The grill was also extremely rusty, so we ended up cooking our hot dogs and hamburgers on the stove instead. I honestly don’t understand how the cabin could be in that condition when a cleaning fee is charged.

We work very hard to provide a clean and comfortable experience, which is reflected in our many 5-star reviews and returning guests. We’ve had hundreds of guests and this is by far the lowest rating we’ve ever received. Our impression is that this guest was not interested in enjoying the Smoky Mountains but more interested in trying to extort us with threats of bad reviews to get refund. The items mentioned in this review were very minor—limited to a small section of shower caulking—and our team addressed them immediately once notified. During their stay we were getting 5-6 messages a day complaining about everything from why we didn’t have an iron (we never said we did) to why we don’t have a water cooler (also never said we had), very peculiar things to complain while also asking for discounts with every message, but also did not want to leave the cabin. We understand that no home is perfect, but we are committed to maintaining a high standard, and we stand by the quality of our property. Future guests can book with confidence knowing that this experience is not representative of our home or our typical guest stays based on all the other fantastic reviews we’ve had.
This cabin was in the perfect location, you felt like you were deep in the woods yet walking distance to the beautiful community pool! The bear action we had on the property was the cherry on top! Only suggestion might be to have a queen size bed in the bedroom on the lower level even though it would be tight and also a queen and 1 set of bunk beds in the other lower level bedroom instead of 2 sets of bunk beds! This property was very clean, modern furnishings and bedding making us so comfortable and “ at home”! The wrap around porch was so peaceful! Lastly the property had a circle drive which made it so much safer and convient for all our vehicles and backing in and out!
My parents and siblings’ families got together for a long weekend. Cabin was well-equipped, accurately described, and we loved the location. Short drive to town, close to Ober and a short walk to the pool! There was an adorable bear that walked around the porch, by the back door and down the driveway a couple times everyday - we loved watching it!! We did wish the beds were more comfortable and not so loud. We had a few issues with cleanliness, and a few other superficial issues which were addressed with Lisa - who is super responsive! All-in-all, though, would recommend.
Great location, great layout and nice outdoor deck
The cabin was an "easy" climb up the mountain off the main Gatlinburg drag and easy to locate. The owners provided excellent communication in advance of and during the stay. You can tell they truly care about the guest experience.
The layout worked great - kids in the bunk room downstairs and adults on the main floor/upstairs. The kids loved having their own space. Kitchen was well-equipped, but heads up that there isn't an ice maker, so plan for a bag of ice if you need extra. The beds were pretty hard to sleep on, but the rest of the cabin made up for it. My favorite part was the deck - it was a nice place to relax and read a book.
While we didn't visit Ober Gatlinburg, it's quite close to this cabin if that's of interest to you.
This property was in a great location, close to Ober Mountain, we hiked up there(it’s quite a steep hill but we took our time and it was fine). The cabin is quite spacious with enough TV’s and bathrooms for everyone. It will sleep 8 adults and 4 kids with no problem. The kitchen is very well stocked with just about any gadget you can think of and plenty of place settings, glassware, cookware, etc….(it’s like how you would have your own home stocked). We liked the easy in and out of the driveway. Lisa Duncan, the host of the property, is very easy to deal with and very prompt responding to any questions you may have. We never saw any bears around the property. ☹️ Overall-great vacation, great weather and a very nice cabin!
Our group stayed 6 nights at Bearwood and we had a great time. There was plenty of space for the adults and kids to spread out, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we loved the location nestled on the mountain. Our kids loved the pool just down the hill and we even walked up to Ober mountain which is only a few minutes away. We saw our one and only bear just 15 minutes after we arrived. It was checking out the vehicles, but moved along quickly. If I could suggest any improvements, it would be that the master shower grout could use some attention. Also, we were missing some towels, but a quick message to Lisa resolved the issue. There was one extra garbage bag, so we ended up using grocery bags to carry our garbage out, and we also ended up buying extra toilet paper. Besides these shortages, we absolutely loved our stay!
The cabin was comfortable, wonderfully stocked, and fit all of our needs. The hot tub was an added luxury that our whole family enjoyed. The short drive to the aerial tram made for a sweet family time going down the mountain with beautiful views of the Smoky's, including a sleeping bear! The tram dropped us in the midst of Gatlinburg, which was bustling with holiday cheer. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at Bearwood again.
Lisa from the get go was very accommodating. We lacked nothing during our stay. We had 11 adults and one child. There were beds and enough space for all to spread out. We cooked a big turkey dinner. Kitchen was fully stocked. We enjoyed coffee bar each morning and sat out on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view. The brars came by for a visit. Night before our departure, one of our friends decided to put a few things in their vehicle......em bears 🐻 were watching...next morning vehicle doors were open, em 🐻 just knew there was something yummy they could find to eat...BINGO..it wasn't much but they discovered it and went on their merry way. Overall the best place to make great memories with family and friends. Thank you Lisa
Upon making our reservation we were promptly greeted and had all our questions answered swiftly. The property was everything we had come to expect and more, plenty of room for our 4 adults and 4 children. We got to see bears during our stay too. Being right next to Ober it was a wonderful location. Our stay was problem free, wonderful in every way, cleanliness was superb, the hot tub was wonderful on the cold nights, and our kids had the entire basement to play. We will be booking this location next year during fall as well.
The master suite and double shower head in the master bedroom was great! We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table, the driveway was also perfect for our 7 car group. It made pulling in and around so easy! 10/10 would recommend and will probably be booking this same place for future stays!!
This property has everything you need. Beware you will see Bears(we saw them at least 8x in a 4 day period) My family absolutely loved the space and our time here. We were a family of 10 and had plenty of space. I would highly recommend!
Set up a nature cam and recorded bears : adults, Mama's and a cub, Mama's and twins! Also a coyote! Enjoy!
