Sitting a few feet from Maple Lake, this former military hut has been transformed into a cozy, quirky, peaceful home, with breathtaking views of the lake and wildlife. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck entertained by visiting Geese, Swans, Ducks and Blue Herons. In summer there is fishing, swimming, kayaking and in winter ice skating, skiing, tubing, ice-fishing and snowmobiling. Kick back and soak up the slow pace of lake living on roughly one acre of lakefront property at your disposal.

Cozy Getaway

This is our second stay at this cottage and we will keep coming back! Both times have been in the colder months and we love being able to relax and watch TV and have a amazing view at the same time. The ducks, geese, and swans are entertaining to watch. The blankets to snuggle up with on the couch are a nice touch. One of these days we will come in the summer and take advantage of the fire pit and spend some time outside. We love your place!

Great place

Lovely place to stay! The hosts were welcoming and helpful. I had thought the location would be more remote, but that was an incorrect assumption on my part. Even though it’s pretty close to other houses and a busy road, my stay was still quiet and peaceful.

We are Dona & David McQueen. We love to travel and have always preferred to stay in Short Term Rented homes as a way to get more in touch with the local culture. We now, finally, have decided to share our home with fellow travelers.

Why they chose this property

This is a unique accommodation, directly on the lake.

What makes this property unique

We have a "bring your own firewood" fire pit for your use. We have two kayaks and a shared paddle boat that guests may use. Each adult in the party will need to sign a waiver before using the watercrafts.

The yard is a shared space which you'll share with us or other guests. We also share the space with typical lakefront wild-life. You will see various waterfowls, birds, red squirrels, muskrats and bunnies. Plus one stray gray cat who wanders by from time to time to check up on us. Please, please, be respectful of these critters by not trying to feed them, or attempt to pet or interact with them. You are allowed unlimited photos!
