About this property

CASA COPAL: Desert escape on 2.5 acres w/ hot tub near Joshua Tree National Park

Get lost in the tranquility of this sun-soaked desert escape. Casa Copal, the relaxing retreat of your Joshua Tree dreams, was designed with you in mind. During the day you can cool off in the splash pool, soak up the sun on our oversized daybeds, or enjoy a game of bocce ball. At night, stargaze from the hot tub or bbq and dine al fresco under the pergola. The house is perched on 2.5 acres of stunning desert landscape offering breathtaking panoramic views and jaw-dropping desert sunsets.

The space
A short drive to The Integratron, La Copine (best restaurant in the area), Joshua Tree Park, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Art Museum, and Pioneertown, Casa Copal is close enough to everything you came here for, but far enough to give your party the solitude you crave.

The custom, newly-renovated home features 4 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms with elevated decor and cute details in every corner. In the main house, you’ll find 3 bedrooms all with queen-sized beds. Thoughtfully designed and decorated, the bedrooms are cozy, clean, and quiet. The primary bedroom boasts an en-suite bathroom with a Moroccan-inspired tadelakt custom vanity, plus a bathtub and shower. The 2 additional guest bedrooms in the main house share the guest bath adorned with imported, hand-made Moroccan sconces and a custom hand-made ceramic vessel sink. The fourth bed is found in the extra-large detached Casita (guest house) by way of a separate entrance steps away from the main house. The Casita boasts a tempurpedic California king bed, en-suite bathroom, and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Each room has a climate control system enabling you to find comfort on warm days or brisk nights.

Casa Copal is designed to comfortably sleep 8 with plenty of room to spare. During your stay here, your party will have access to the entire property without ever feeling crowded or on top of one another. The oversized pergola offers a sense of grandeur covering our outdoor dining area, with lounge seating aplenty, and the hot tub providing relaxation for your entire party.

The open-concept kitchen is a chef/host’s dream, with modern appliances and designer finishes, stocked with all the kitchen tools, gadgets, and supplies required to make a feast.

Enhancing your desert experience are 400-thread-count linens, down pillows, and plush towels. From pendant lights in the kitchens and bedrooms, to vases in the custom-built niche wall, to mugs and serving platters, Casa Copal also features ceramics created by the host/owners, an LA-based ceramics duo who work under the moniker Salvo Ceramics (@SalvoCeramics).

The property is perfect for remote working in any field with fast, Zoom-proof Wi-Fi, three desks, and an 8-person countertop dining area in the kitchen with plenty of outlets.

We hope you enjoy this property as much as we do! It is our favorite escape from the city and quite frankly our little dream home.

Other things to note
For the health and safety of our guests and staff, we have implemented stricter Covid-19 cleaning protocols, disinfecting & sanitizing all high-touch surfaces in addition to our regular deep cleanings.

Events & Commercial Photoshoots are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit, and additional fees.

We do NOT allow unruly parties or excessively loud music that might disturb neighbors. We have a strict 10pm neighborhood outdoor quiet time and our neighbors will enforce this with the county (sorry!). Why - Because our short-term rental permit will be revoked by the county if we get noise complaints from neighbors. We encourage respectful, mature gatherings in care of the local environment.

Dogs are welcome but out of respect for all guests, if there’s been a dog in the home, we do an extra deep cleaning to ensure that any pet dander or fur has been removed, therefore there is an additional fee of $70. We love to travel with our dog and understand that from time to time even well-trained dogs make mistakes. With that said, if your dog damages something, we will kindly ask that you pay either for extra cleaning costs or replacement cost.

Please be aware of wildlife such as insects, scorpions, and snakes. Our team does their best to check the home before your arrival, but please be mindful about leaving the doors & windows open during your stay. We recommend that you at least wear sandals while exploring the landscape as many desert flora and fauna, while beautiful, can hurt to step on.

A place of relaxation.
Had a pleasant and relaxing stay! Spending time on the property was very serene and peaceful--which was exactly what we were looking for. Kristin(host) was very communicative and helpful. House was clean and instructions were detailed and well-organized. The kitchen had everything we needed. The Casita was great as well. Would stay again! Thank you.

BEST STAY EVER
if you have the opportunity you must stay here! It was a wonderful stay with my family and friends. The property is just as advertised, super cute and very clean! Kristin was super responsive and great during our stay, can’t recommend enough. It’s close to everything you could want out of the Joshua tree area but far enough to have a cozy feel! Perfect for Star gazing

Hi! I was born and raised in LA, and now split my time between LA and the desert. My husband and I bought and renovated our dream home in the high desert in the beginning of 2021 and did most of the work ourselves. We also stocked the house with a ton of our handmade pottery. We can't wait to share it with you!
